6Then Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֑ם'av.ra.HamH85saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Bewareהִשָּׁ֣מֶרhi.Sha.merH8104that you do not takeH7725my sonבְּנִ֖יbe.NiH1121backתָּשִׁ֥יבta.ShivH7725thereשָֽׁמָּה׃Sha.mahH8033!

13Beholdהִנֵּ֛הhi.NehH2009,I am standingנִצָּ֖בni.TzavH5324by thespringH5871,and the daughtersוּבְנוֹת֙u.ve.noTH1323of the menH376of the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892are comingיֹצְאֹ֖תyo.tze.'OtH3318out to drawלִשְׁאֹ֥בlish.'OH7579waterH4325;

15Beforeטֶרֶם֮te.RemH2962he had finishedכִּלָּ֣הki.LahH3615speakingלְדַבֵּר֒le.da.BerH1696,beholdוְהִנֵּ֧הve.hi.NehH2009,Rebekahרִבְקָ֣הriv.KahH7259whoאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834was bornיֻלְּדָה֙yu.le.DahH3205to Bethuelלִבְתוּאֵ֣לliv.tu.'ElH1328the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121ofMilcahמִלְכָּ֔הmil.KahH4435,the wifeאֵ֥שֶׁת'E.shetH802of Abraham’sאַבְרָהָ֑ם'av.ra.HamH85brotherאֲחִ֣י'a.ChiH251Nahorנָח֖וֹרna.ChorH5152,cameיֹצֵ֗אתyo.TzetH3318out with her jarוְכַדָּ֖הּve.kha.DahH3537on her shoulderשִׁכְמָֽהּ׃shikh.MahH7926.

16The girlוְהַֽנַּעֲרָ֗ve.ha.na.'a.RaH5291wasveryמְאֹ֔דme.'OdH3966beautifulטֹבַ֤תto.VatH2896,a virginבְּתוּלָ֕הbe.tu.LahH1330,and noלֹ֣אlo'H3808manוְאִ֖ישׁve.'IshH376hadhadH3045relationsH3045with her; and she wentH3381downוַתֵּ֣רֶדva.Te.redH3381to the springH5871and filledוַתְּמַלֵּ֥אva.te.ma.Le'H4390her jarכַדָּ֖הּkha.DahH3537and cameוַתָּֽעַל׃va.Ta.'alH5927up.

17Then the servantהָעֶ֖בֶדha.'E.vedH5650ranוַיָּ֥רָץvai.Ya.rotzH7323to meetלִקְרָאתָ֑הּlik.ra.TahH7122her, and saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Pleaseנָ֛אna'H4994let me drinkהַגְמִיאִ֥ינִיhag.mi.'I.niH1572a littleמְעַט־me.'at-H4592waterמַ֖יִםMa.yimH4325from your jarמִכַּדֵּֽךְ׃mi.ka.DekhH3537.”

18She saidוַתֹּ֖אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Drinkשְׁתֵ֣הshe.TehH8354,my lordאֲדֹנִ֑י'a.do.NiH113”;and she quicklyוַתְּמַהֵ֗רva.te.ma.HerH4116loweredוַתֹּ֧רֶדva.To.redH3381her jarכַּדָּ֛הּka.DahH3537to her handיָדָ֖הּya.DahH3027,and gaveH8248him a drinkוַתַּשְׁקֵֽהוּ׃va.tash.Ke.huH8248.

19Now when she had finishedוַתְּכַ֖לva.te.KhalH3615givingלְהַשְׁקֹת֑וֹle.hash.ko.ToH8248him a drinkH8248,she saidוַתֹּ֗אמֶרva.To.merH559, “I will drawאֶשְׁאָ֔ב'esh.'AvH7579alsoגַּ֤םgamH1571for your camelsלִגְמַלֶּ֙יךָ֙lig.ma.Lei.khaH1581untilעַ֥ד אִם־'ad 'im-H5704 H518they have finishedכִּלּ֖וּki.LuH3615drinkingלִשְׁתֹּֽת׃lish.TotH8354.”

20So she quicklyוַתְּמַהֵ֗רva.te.ma.HerH4116emptiedוַתְּעַ֤רva.te.'ArH6168her jarכַּדָּהּ֙ka.DahH3537into the troughהַשֹּׁ֔קֶתha.Sho.ketH8268,and ranוַתָּ֥רָץva.Ta.rotzH7323backע֛וֹדodH5750to the wellהַבְּאֵ֖רha.be.'ErH875to drawלִשְׁאֹ֑בlish.'OH7579,and she drewוַתִּשְׁאַ֖בva.tish.'AvH7579for allלְכָל־le.kholH3605his camelsגְּמַלָּֽיו׃ge.ma.LavH1581.

21Meanwhile, the manוְהָאִ֥ישׁve.ha.'IshH376was gazingמִשְׁתָּאֵ֖הmish.ta.'EhH7583at herin silenceמַחֲרִ֕ישׁma.cha.RishH2790,to knowלָדַ֗עַתla.Da.'atH3045whether the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068had madeH6743his journeyדַּרְכּ֖וֹdar.KoH1870successfulהַֽהִצְלִ֧יחַha.hitz.Li.achH6743orאִם־'im-H518not.

22WhenH3512the camelsהַגְּמַלִּים֙ha.ge.ma.LimH1581had finishedכִּלּ֤וּki.LuH3615drinkingלִשְׁתּ֔וֹתlish.TotH8354,the manהָאִישׁ֙ha.'IshH376tookוַיִּקַּ֤חvai.yi.KachH3947agoldזָהָ֔בza.HavH2091ringנֶ֣זֶםNe.zemH5141weighingמִשְׁקָל֑וֹmish.ka.LoH4948a half-shekelבֶּ֖קַעBe.ka'H1235and twoוּשְׁנֵ֤יu.she.NeiH8147braceletsצְמִידִים֙tze.mi.DimH6781for herwristsיָדֶ֔יהָya.Dei.haH3027weighingמִשְׁקָלָֽם׃mish.ka.LamH4948tenעֲשָׂרָ֥ה'a.sa.RahH6235shekels in goldזָהָ֖בza.HavH2091,

23and saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “Whoseמִ֣יmiH4310daughterבַּת־bat-H1323are you? Pleaseנָ֖אna'H4994tellהַגִּ֥ידִיha.Gi.diH5046me, is thereהֲיֵ֧שׁha.YeshH3426roomמָק֥וֹםma.KomH4725for us to lodgeלָלִֽין׃la.LinH3885in your father’sאָבִ֛יךְ'a.VikhH1houseבֵּית־beit-H1004?”

24She saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559to him, “I am the daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of Bethuelבְּתוּאֵ֖לbe.tu.'ElH1328,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Milcahמִלְכָּ֕הmil.KahH4435,whomאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834she boreיָלְדָ֖הyal.DahH3205to Nahorלְנָחֽוֹר׃le.na.ChorH5152.”

25Again she saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559to him, “We have plentyרַ֣בravH7227of bothH1571strawתֶּ֥בֶןTe.venH8401and feedמִסְפּ֖וֹאmis.Po'H4554,and roomמָק֖וֹםma.KomH4725to lodgeלָלֽוּן׃la.LunH3885in.”

26Then the manהָאִ֔ישׁha.'IshH376bowedH6915lowוַיִּקֹּ֣דvai.yi.KodH6915and worshipedוַיִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּvai.yish.Ta.chuH7812the Lordלַֽיהוָֽה׃la.Yah.wehH3068.

27He saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Blessedבָּר֤וּךְba.RukhH1288be the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵי֙'e.lo.HeiH430of my masterאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֔ם'av.ra.HamH85,whoאֲ֠שֶׁר'a.SherH834has not forsakenעָזַ֥ב'a.ZavH5800His lovingkindnessחַסְדּ֛וֹchas.DoH2617and His truthוַאֲמִתּ֖וֹva.'a.mi.ToH571towardמֵעִ֣םme.'ImH4480 H5973my masterאֲדֹנִ֑י'a.do.NiH113; as for me,the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068has guidedנָחַ֣נִיna.Cha.niH5148me in the wayבַּדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ba.De.rekhH1870to the houseבֵּ֖יתbeitH1004of my master’sאֲדֹנִֽי׃'a.do.NiH113brothersאֲחֵ֥י'a.CheiH251.”

28Thenthe girlהַֽנַּעֲרָ֔ha.na.'a.RaH5291ranוַתָּ֙רָץ֙va.Ta.rotzH7323and toldוַתַּגֵּ֖דva.ta.GedH5046her mother’sאִמָּ֑הּ'i.MahH517householdלְבֵ֣יתle.VeitH1004about theseהָאֵֽלֶּה׃ha.'E.lehH428thingsכַּדְּבָרִ֖יםka.de.va.RimH1697.

29Now Rebekahוּלְרִבְקָ֥הu.le.riv.KahH7259had a brotherאָ֖ח'achH251whose nameוּשְׁמ֣וֹu.she.MoH8034wasLabanלָבָ֑ןla.VanH3837;and Labanלָבָ֧ןla.VanH3837ranוַיָּ֨רָץvai.Ya.rotzH7323outsideהַח֖וּצָהha.Chu.tzahH2351to the manהָאִ֛ישׁha.'IshH376at the springH5871.

31And he saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Comeבּ֖וֹאBo'H935in,blessedבְּר֣וּךְbe.RukhH1288of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068!Whyלָ֤מָּהLa.mahH4100do you standתַעֲמֹד֙ta.'a.ModH5975outsideבַּח֔וּץba.ChutzH2351sinceI have preparedפִּנִּ֣יתִיpi.Ni.tiH6437the houseהַבַּ֔יִתha.Ba.yitH1004,and a placeוּמָק֖וֹםu.ma.KomH4725for the camelsלַגְּמַלִּֽים׃la.ge.ma.LimH1581?”

32So the manהָאִישׁ֙ha.'IshH376enteredוַיָּבֹ֤אvai.ya.Vo'H935the houseהַבַּ֔יְתָהha.Bay.tahH1004. ThenLaban unloadedוַיְפַתַּ֖חvay.fa.TachH6605the camelsהַגְּמַלִּ֑יםha.ge.ma.LimH1581,and he gaveוַיִּתֵּ֨ןvai.yi.TenH5414strawתֶּ֤בֶןTe.venH8401and feedוּמִסְפּוֹא֙u.mis.pO'H4554to the camelsלַגְּמַלִּ֔יםla.ge.ma.LimH1581,and waterוּמַ֙יִם֙u.Ma.yimH4325to washלִרְחֹ֣ץlir.ChotzH7364his feetרַגְלָ֔יוrag.LavH7272and the feetוְרַגְלֵ֥יve.rag.LeiH7272of the menH376whoאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834were with him.

33But when foodwas setוַיּוּשַׂ֤םvayu.semH7760beforeלְפָנָיו֙le.fa.NavH6440him to eatלֶאֱכֹ֔לle.'e.KholH398,he saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “I will not eatאֹכַ֔ל'o.KhalH398untilעַ֥ד אִם־'ad 'im-H5704 H518I have toldדִּבַּ֖רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696my businessדְּבָרָ֑יde.va.RaiH1697.”And he saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Speakדַּבֵּֽר׃da.BerH1696on.”
