9So the servantהָעֶ֙בֶד֙ha.'E.vedH5650אֶת־'et-H853placedוַיָּ֤שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760his handיָד֔וֹya.DoH3027underתַּ֛חַתTa.chatH8478the thighיֶ֥רֶךְYe.rekhH3409of his masterאֲדֹנָ֑יו'a.do.NavH113Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֖ם'av.ra.HamH85and swore an oathוַיִּשָּׁ֣בַֽעvai.yi.Sha.va'H7650to himconcerningעַל־'al-H5921thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088matterהַדָּבָ֖רha.da.VarH1697.

13Hereהִנֵּ֛הhi.NehH2009I amאָנֹכִ֥י'a.no.KhiH595,standingנִצָּ֖בni.TzavH5324besideעַל־'al-H5921the springעֵ֣ין הַמָּ֑יִם'ein ha.Ma.yimH5869H4325,and the daughtersוּבְנוֹת֙u.ve.noTH1323of the townspeopleאַנְשֵׁ֣י הָעִ֔יר'an.Shei ha.'IrH582H5892are coming outיֹצְאֹ֖תyo.tze.'OtH3318to drawלִשְׁאֹ֥בlish.'OH7579waterמָֽיִם׃Ma.yimH4325.
14Now may it happenוְהָיָ֣הve.ha.YahH1961that the girlהַֽנַּעֲרָ֗ha.na.'a.RaH5291toאֵלֶ֙יהָ֙'e.Lei.haH413whomאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834I sayאֹמַ֤ר'o.MarH559, ‘Pleaseנָ֤אna'H4994let downהַטִּי־ha.ti-H5186your jarכַדֵּךְ֙kha.deKhH3537that I may drinkוְאֶשְׁתֶּ֔הve.'esh.TehH8354,’and who respondsוְאָמְרָ֣הve.'a.me.RahH559, ‘Drinkשְׁתֵ֔הshe.TehH8354,and I will waterאַשְׁקֶ֑ה'ash.KehH8248אֹתָ֤הּ'o.TahH853your camelsגְּמַלֶּ֖יךָge.ma.Lei.khaH1581as wellוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571’—let her be the one You have appointedהֹכַ֙חְתָּ֙ho.Khach.taH3198for Your servantלְעַבְדְּךָ֣le.'av.de.KhaH5650Isaacלְיִצְחָ֔קle.yitz.ChakH3327. 15וַֽיְהִי־vay.hi-H1961Beforeטֶרֶם֮te.RemH2962the servantה֗וּאHu'H1931had finishedכִּלָּ֣הki.LahH3615prayingלְדַבֵּר֒le.da.BerH1696וְהִנֵּ֧הve.hi.NehH2009,Rebekahרִבְקָ֣הriv.KahH7259came outיֹצֵ֗אתyo.TzetH3318with her jarוְכַדָּ֖הּve.kha.DahH3537onעַל־'al-H5921her shoulderשִׁכְמָֽהּ׃shikh.MahH7926.Sheאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834wasיֻלְּדָה֙yu.le.DahH3205the daughter of Bethuelלִבְתוּאֵ֣לliv.tu.'ElH1328sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Milcahמִלְכָּ֔הmil.KahH4435,the wifeאֵ֥שֶׁת'E.shetH802of Abraham’sאַבְרָהָ֑ם'av.ra.HamH85brotherאֲחִ֣י'a.ChiH251Nahorנָח֖וֹרna.ChorH5152.
16Now the girlוְהַֽנַּעֲרָ֗ve.ha.na.'a.RaH5291was veryמְאֹ֔דme.'OdH3966beautifulטֹבַ֤ת מַרְאֶה֙to.Vat mar.'EhH2896H4758,a virginבְּתוּלָ֕ה לֹ֣אbe.tu.Lah lo'H1330H3808who had not had relationsיְדָעָ֑הּye.da.'AhH3045with any manוְאִ֖ישׁve.'IshH376.She went downוַתֵּ֣רֶדva.Te.redH3381to the springהָעַ֔יְנָהha.'Ay.nahH5869,filledוַתְּמַלֵּ֥אva.te.ma.Le'H4390her jarכַדָּ֖הּkha.DahH3537,and came up againוַתָּֽעַל׃va.Ta.'alH5927.
19After sheוַתְּכַ֖לva.te.KhalH3615had given him a drinkלְהַשְׁקֹת֑וֹle.hash.ko.ToH8248,she saidוַתֹּ֗אמֶרva.To.merH559, “I will alsoגַּ֤םgamH1571draw waterאֶשְׁאָ֔ב'esh.'AvH7579for your camelsלִגְמַלֶּ֙יךָ֙lig.ma.Lei.khaH1581,untilעַ֥ד אִם־'ad 'im-H5704H518they have had enoughכִּלּ֖וּki.LuH3615to drinkלִשְׁתֹּֽת׃lish.TotH8354.”
20And she quicklyוַתְּמַהֵ֗רva.te.ma.HerH4116emptiedוַתְּעַ֤רva.te.'ArH6168her jarכַּדָּהּ֙ka.DahH3537intoאֶל־'el-H413the troughהַשֹּׁ֔קֶתha.Sho.ketH8268and ranוַתָּ֥רָץva.Ta.rotzH7323backע֛וֹדodH5750toאֶֽל־'el-H413the wellהַבְּאֵ֖רha.be.'ErH875to draw waterלִשְׁאֹ֑בlish.'OH7579,until she had drawn waterוַתִּשְׁאַ֖בva.tish.'AvH7579for allלְכָל־le.kholH3605his camelsגְּמַלָּֽיו׃ge.ma.LavH1581.
22Andוַיְהִ֗יvay.HiH1961afterכַּאֲשֶׁ֨רka.'a.SherH834the camelsהַגְּמַלִּים֙ha.ge.ma.LimH1581had finishedכִּלּ֤וּki.LuH3615drinkingלִשְׁתּ֔וֹתlish.TotH8354, heהָאִישׁ֙ha.'IshH376took outוַיִּקַּ֤חvai.yi.KachH3947a goldזָהָ֔בza.HavH2091ringנֶ֣זֶםNe.zemH5141weighingמִשְׁקָל֑וֹmish.ka.LoH4948a bekaבֶּ֖קַעBe.ka'H1235,and twoוּשְׁנֵ֤יu.she.NeiH8147goldזָהָ֖בza.HavH2091braceletsצְמִידִים֙tze.mi.DimH6781forעַל־'al-H5921her wristsיָדֶ֔יהָya.Dei.haH3027weighingמִשְׁקָלָֽם׃mish.ka.LamH4948tenעֲשָׂרָ֥ה'a.sa.RahH6235shekels.

31“Comeבּ֖וֹאBo'H935,you who are blessedבְּר֣וּךְbe.RukhH1288by the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,”said Labanוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559. “Whyלָ֤מָּהLa.mahH4100are you standingתַעֲמֹד֙ta.'a.ModH5975out hereבַּח֔וּץba.ChutzH2351?Iוְאָנֹכִי֙ve.'a.no.KhiH595have preparedפִּנִּ֣יתִיpi.Ni.tiH6437the houseהַבַּ֔יִתha.Ba.yitH1004and a placeוּמָק֖וֹםu.ma.KomH4725for the camelsלַגְּמַלִּֽים׃la.ge.ma.LimH1581.”
32So the manהָאִישׁ֙ha.'IshH376cameוַיָּבֹ֤אvai.ya.Vo'H935to the houseהַבַּ֔יְתָהha.Bay.tahH1004,and the camelsהַגְּמַלִּ֑יםha.ge.ma.LimH1581were unloadedוַיְפַתַּ֖חvay.fa.TachH6605.Strawתֶּ֤בֶןTe.venH8401and feedוּמִסְפּוֹא֙u.mis.pO'H4554were broughtוַיִּתֵּ֨ןvai.yi.TenH5414to the camelsלַגְּמַלִּ֔יםla.ge.ma.LimH1581,and waterוּמַ֙יִם֙u.Ma.yimH4325to washלִרְחֹ֣ץlir.ChotzH7364his feetרַגְלָ֔יוrag.LavH7272and the feetוְרַגְלֵ֥יve.rag.LeiH7272of his companionsהָאֲנָשִׁ֖יםha.'a.na.ShimH582אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834אִתּֽוֹ׃'i.ToH854.
33Then a meal was setH3455beforeלְפָנָיו֙le.fa.NavH6440the man,but he saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “I will notלֶאֱכֹ֔ל לֹ֣אle.'e.Khol lo'H3808H398eatאֹכַ֔ל'o.KhalH398untilעַ֥ד אִם־'ad 'im-H5704H518I have told youדִּבַּ֖רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696what I came to sayדְּבָרָ֑יde.va.RaiH1697.”So Laban saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Please speakדַּבֵּֽר׃da.BerH1696.”
