Idolatrous Worship Denounced

1And the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068cameוַיְהִ֥יvay.HiH1961to me sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

2“Sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֕ם'a.DamH120,setשִׂ֥יםsimH7760your faceפָּנֶ֖יךָpa.Nei.khaH6440towardאֶל־'el-H413themountainsהָרֵ֣יha.ReiH2022of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and prophesyוְהִנָּבֵ֖אve.hi.na.Ve'H5012againstאֲלֵיהֶֽם׃'a.lei.HemH413them

3and sayוְאָ֣מַרְתָּ֔ve.'A.mar.taH559, ‘Mountainsהָרֵי֙ha.ReiH2022of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,listenשִׁמְע֖וּshim.'UH8085to the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GodH3068!Thusכֹּה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GodH3068to the mountainsלֶהָרִ֨יםle.ha.RimH2022,the hillsוְלַגְּבָע֜וֹתve.la.ge.va.'otH1389,the ravinesלָאֲפִיקִ֣יםla.'a.fi.KimH650and the valleysוְלַגֵּאָי֗וֹתve.la.ge.'a.yotH1516: “Beholdהִנְנִ֨יhi.NiH2009,I Myselfאֲנִ֜י'a.NiH589am going to bringמֵבִ֤יאme.Vi'H935a swordחֶ֔רֶבChe.revH2719on you, andI will destroyוְאִבַּדְתִּ֖יve.'i.bad.TiH6your highבָּמֽוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃ba.Mo.tei.KhemH1116placesH1116.

4So youraltarsמִזְבְּח֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔םmiz.be.Cho.tei.KhemH4196will becomeH8074desolateוְנָשַׁ֙מּוּ֙ve.na.Sha.muH8074and your incenseחַמָּֽנֵיכֶ֑םcha.ma.nei.KhemH2553altarsH2553will be smashedוְנִשְׁבְּר֖וּve.nish.be.RuH7665;and I will make your slainחַלְלֵיכֶ֔םcha.lei.KhemH2491fallוְהִפַּלְתִּי֙ve.hi.pal.TiH5307in frontלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440of your idolsגִּלּוּלֵיכֶֽם׃gi.lu.lei.KhemH1544.

5I will also layוְנָתַתִּ֗יve.na.ta.TiH5414the deadH6297bodiesH6297of the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478in frontלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440of their idolsגִּלּֽוּלֵיהֶ֑םgi.lu.lei.HemH1544;and I will scatterוְזֵרִיתִי֙ve.ze.ri.TiH2219yourbonesעַצְמ֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔םatz.Mo.tei.KhemH6106aroundסְבִיב֖וֹתse.vi.VotH5439your altarsמִזְבְּחוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃miz.be.cho.tei.KhemH4196.

6In allבְּכֹל֙be.KholH3605your dwellingsמוֹשְׁב֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔םmo.she.Vo.tei.KhemH4186,citiesהֶעָרִ֣יםhe.'a.RimH5892will becomeH2717wasteתֶּחֱרַ֔בְנָהte.che.Rav.nahH2717and the highוְהַבָּמ֖וֹתve.ha.ba.MotH1116placesH1116will be desolateH8074,that your altarsמִזְבְּחֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗םmiz.be.cho.tei.KhemH4196may becomeH2717wasteיֶחֶרְב֨וּye.cher.VuH2717anddesolateוְיֶאְשְׁמ֜וּve.ye'.she.MuH816, youridolsגִּלּ֣וּלֵיכֶ֔םgi.Lu.lei.KhemH1544may be brokenוְנִשְׁבְּר֤וּve.nish.be.RuH7665and broughtH7673to an endH7673,your incenseחַמָּ֣נֵיכֶ֔םcha.Ma.nei.KhemH2553altarsH2553may be cutוְנִגְדְּעוּ֙ve.nig.de.'UH1438downH1438,and your worksמַעֲשֵׂיכֶֽם׃ma.'a.sei.KhemH4639may be blottedוְנִמְח֖וּve.nim.ChuH4229out.

7The slainחָלָ֖לcha.LalH2491will fallוְנָפַ֥לve.na.FalH5307amongבְּתֽוֹכְכֶ֑םbe.tokh.KhemH8432you, and you will knowוִֽידַעְתֶּ֖םvi.da'.TemH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

8“However, I will leaveוְהוֹתַרְתִּ֗יve.ho.tar.TiH3498aremnantH3498,for you will haveבִּהְי֥וֹתbih.YotH1961those whoH6412escapedפְּלִ֥יטֵיpe.Li.teiH6412the swordחֶ֖רֶבChe.revH2719among the nationsבַּגּוֹיִ֑םba.go.YimH1471when you are scatteredבְּהִזָּרֽוֹתֵיכֶ֖םbe.hi.za.ro.tei.KhemH2219among the countriesבָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ba.'a.ra.TzotH776.

9Then those of you whoH6412escapeפְלִֽיטֵיכֶ֜םfe.li.tei.KhemH6412willrememberוְזָכְר֨וּve.za.khe.RuH2142Me among the nationsבַּגּוֹיִם֮ba.go.YimH1471to whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834they will be carriedH7617captiveנִשְׁבּוּ־nish.bu-H7617,howאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834I havebeen hurtנִשְׁבַּ֜רְתִּיnish.Bar.tiH7665by their adulterousH2181heartsלִבָּ֣םli.BamH3820whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834turnedסָר֙sarH5493awayH5493from Me, and by their eyesעֵֽינֵיהֶ֔ם'ei.nei.HemH5869which playedH2181the harlotH2181afterאַחֲרֵ֖י'a.cha.ReiH310their idolsגִּלּֽוּלֵיהֶ֑םgi.lu.lei.HemH1544; and they willloatheוְנָקֹ֙טּוּ֙ve.na.Ko.tuH6962themselves in their own sightבִּפְנֵיהֶ֔םbif.nei.HemH6440for the evilsH7463whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834they have committedעָשׂ֔וּ'a.SuH6213,for allלְכֹ֖לle.KholH3605their abominationsתּוֹעֲבֹתֵיהֶֽם׃to.'a.vo.tei.HemH8441.

10Then they will knowוְיָדְע֖וּve.ya.de.'UH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068;I have not saidדִּבַּ֔רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696in vainחִנָּם֙chi.NamH2600that I would inflictלַעֲשׂ֥וֹתla.'a.SotH6213thisH2088disasterH7463on them.”’

11“Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֞ר'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GodH3068, ‘Clapהַכֵּ֨הha.KehH5221your handבְכַפְּךָ֜ve.kha.pe.KhaH3709,stampוּרְקַ֤עu.re.Ka'H7554your footבְּרַגְלְךָ֙be.rag.le.KhaH7272and sayוֶֽאֱמָר־ve.'e.mor-H559, “Alasאָ֔ח'AchH253,becauseאֶ֛ל'elH413of allכָּל־kol-H3605the evilרָע֖וֹתra.'otH7451abominationsתּוֹעֲב֥וֹתto.'a.VotH8441of the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,whichאֲשֶׁ֗ר'a.SherH834will fallיִפֹּֽלוּ׃yi.Po.luH5307byswordבַּחֶ֛רֶבba.Che.revH2719,famineבָּרָעָ֥בba.ra.'AvH7458and plagueוּבַדֶּ֖בֶרu.va.De.verH1698!

12He whoH7350isfarH7350offH7350will dieיָמ֗וּתya.MutH4191by the plagueבַּדֶּ֣בֶרba.De.verH1698,and he whoH7138is nearH7138will fallיִפּ֔וֹלyi.PolH5307by the swordבַּחֶ֣רֶבba.Che.revH2719,and he who remainsוְהַנִּשְׁאָר֙ve.ha.nish.'ArH7604and is besiegedוְהַנָּצ֔וּרve.ha.na.TzurH5341will dieיָמ֑וּתya.MutH4191by the famineבָּרָעָ֖בba.ra.'AvH7458. Thus will Ispendוְכִלֵּיתִ֥יve.khi.lei.TiH3615My wrathחֲמָתִ֖יcha.ma.TiH2534on them.

13Then you will knowוִֽידַעְתֶּם֙vi.da'.TemH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, when theirslainחַלְלֵיהֶ֗םcha.lei.HemH2491are amongבְּתוֹךְ֙be.toKhH8432their idolsגִּלּ֣וּלֵיהֶ֔םgi.Lu.lei.HemH1544aroundסְבִיב֖וֹתse.vi.VotH5439their altarsמִזְבְּחֽוֹתֵיהֶ֑םmiz.be.cho.tei.HemH4196, oneveryכָּל־kol-H3605highרָמָ֜הra.MahH7311hillגִּבְעָ֨הgiv.'AhH1389,on allבְּכֹ֣ל׀be.KholH3605the topsרָאשֵׁ֣יra.SheiH7218of the mountainsהֶהָרִ֗יםhe.ha.RimH2022,underוְתַ֨חַתve.Ta.chatH8478everyכָּל־kol-H3605greenרַֽעֲנָן֙ra.'a.NanH7488treeעֵ֤ץ'etzH6086and underוְתַ֙חַת֙ve.Ta.chatH8478everyכָּל־kol-H3605leafyעֲבֻתָּ֔ה'a.vu.TahH5687oakאֵלָ֣ה'e.LahH424--the placesמְק֗וֹםme.KomH4725whereאֲשֶׁ֤ר שָׁם֙'a.Sher shamH834 H8033they offeredנָֽתְנוּ־na.te.nu-H5414soothingנִיחֹ֔חַni.Cho.achH5207aromaרֵ֣יחַRei.achH7381to allלְכֹ֖לle.KholH3605their idolsגִּלּוּלֵיהֶֽם׃gi.lu.lei.HemH1544.

14So throughout allבְּכֹ֖לbe.KholH3605their habitationsמוֹשְׁבֽוֹתֵיהֶ֑םmo.she.vo.tei.HemH4186I willstretchוְנָטִ֤יתִיve.na.Ti.tiH5186out My handיָדִי֙ya.DiH3027againstעֲלֵיהֶ֔ם'a.lei.HemH5921them and makeוְנָתַתִּ֨יve.na.ta.TiH5414the landהָאָ֜רֶץha.'A.retzH776moreH4480desolateשְׁמָמָ֤הshe.ma.MahH8077and wasteוּמְשַׁמָּה֙u.me.sha.MahH4923thanH4480the wildernessמִמִּדְבַּ֣רmi.mid.BarH4057toward Diblahדִּבְלָ֔תָהdiv.La.tahH1689;thus they will knowוְיָדְע֖וּve.ya.de.'UH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ פYah.wehH3068.”’”
