1Then the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068cameוַיְהִ֥יvay.HiH1961to me sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

2“Sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֕ם'a.DamH120,prophesyהִנָּבֵ֛אhi.na.Ve'H5012againstאֶל־'el-H413theprophetsנְבִיאֵ֥יne.vi.'EiH5030of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478who prophesyהַנִּבָּאִ֑יםha.ni.ba.'ImH5012,and sayוְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ve.'a.mar.TaH559to those who prophesyלִנְבִיאֵ֣יlin.vi.'EiH5030from their owninspirationמִלִּבָּ֔םmi.li.BamH3820, ‘Listenשִׁמְע֖וּshim.'UH8085to the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068!

3Thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GodH3068, “Woeה֖וֹיHoH1945to thefoolishהַנְּבָלִ֑יםha.ne.va.LimH5036prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֣יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030whoאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834are followingהֹלְכִ֛ים אַחַ֥רho.le.Khim 'a.CharH1980 H310their own spiritרוּחָ֖םru.ChamH7307and haveseenרָאֽוּ׃ra.'UH7200nothingוּלְבִלְתִּ֥יu.le.vil.TiH1115.

4O Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,your prophetsנְבִיאֶ֥יךָne.vi.'Ei.khaH5030have beenהָיֽוּ׃ha.YuH1961like foxesכְּשֻׁעָלִ֖יםke.shu.'a.LimH7776among ruinsבָּחֳרָב֑וֹתbo.cho.ra.VotH2723.

5You have notgoneעֲלִיתֶם֙'a.li.TemH5927up into thebreachesבַּפְּרָצ֔וֹתba.pe.ra.TzotH6556,norלֹ֤אlo'H3808did you buildH1443the wallוַתִּגְדְּר֥וּva.tig.de.RuH1443aroundעַל־'al-H5921the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478to standלַעֲמֹ֥דla.'a.ModH5975in the battleבַּמִּלְחָמָ֖הba.mil.cha.MahH4421on thedayבְּי֥וֹםbe.YomH3117of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

6They seeחָ֤זוּCha.zuH2372falsehoodשָׁוְא֙shaV'H7723and lyingכָּזָ֔בka.ZavH3577divinationוְקֶ֣סֶםve.Ke.semH7081who are sayingהָאֹֽמְרִים֙ha.'o.me.RimH559, ‘The Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002,’when the Lordוַֽיהוָ֖הva.Yah.wehH3068has not sentשְׁלָחָ֑םshe.la.ChamH7971them;yet they hopeוְיִֽחֲל֖וּve.yi.cha.LuH3176for the fulfillmentלְקַיֵּ֥םle.kai.YemH6965of theirwordדָּבָֽר׃da.VarH1697.

7Did you not seeH7200a falseשָׁוְא֙shaV'H7723visionמַֽחֲזֵה־ma.cha.zeh-H4236and speakאֲמַרְתֶּ֑ם'a.mar.TemH559a lyingכָּזָ֖בka.ZavH3577divinationוּמִקְסַ֥םu.mik.SamH4738when you saidוְאֹֽמְרִים֙ve.'o.me.RimH559, ‘The Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002,’but it is not I who have spokenדִבַּֽרְתִּי׃ סdi.Bar.tiH1696?”’”

8Thereforeלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651,thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068, “Becauseיַ֚עַןYa.'anH3282you have spokenדַּבֶּרְכֶ֣םda.ber.KhemH1696falsehoodשָׁ֔וְאShav'H7723and seenוַחֲזִיתֶ֖םva.cha.zi.TemH2372a lieכָּזָ֑בka.ZavH3577,thereforeלָכֵן֙la.KhenH3651beholdH2009,I am againstאֲלֵיכֶ֔ם'a.lei.KhemH413you,” declaresנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordאֲדֹנָ֥י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068.

9“So My handיָדִ֗יya.DiH3027will be againstH413theprophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֞יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030who seeH7200falseH7723visionsH7723and utterH7080lyingכָּזָב֒ka.ZavH3577divinationsH7080. They willhaveוְהָיְתָ֣הve.ha.ye.TahH1961noלֹֽא־lo'-H3808placeיִהְי֗וּyih.YuH1961in the councilבְּס֧וֹדbe.SodH5475of My peopleעַמִּ֣י'a.MiH5971,norלֹ֣אlo'H3808will they be writtenH3789downיִכָּתֵ֔בוּyi.ka.Te.vuH3789in the registerוּבִכְתָ֤בu.vikh.TavH3791of the houseבֵּֽית־beit-H1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478,norלֹ֣אlo'H3808will they enterיָבֹ֑אוּya.Vo.'uH935the landאַדְמַ֥ת'ad.MatH127of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,that you may knowוִידַעְתֶּ֕םvi.da'.TemH3045that I am the Lordאֲדֹנָ֥י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068.

10It is definitelyיַ֣עַןYa.'anH3282becauseוּבְיַ֜עַןu.ve.Ya.'anH3282they havemisledהִטְע֧וּhit.'UH2937My peopleעַמִּ֛י'a.MiH5971by sayingלֵאמֹ֥רle.MorH559, ‘Peaceשָׁל֖וֹםsha.LomH7965!’when thereH369isnoH369peaceשָׁל֑וֹםsha.LomH7965.And when anyoneוְהוּא֙ve.Hu'H1931buildsבֹּ֣נֶהBo.nehH1129a wallחַ֔יִץCha.yitzH2434,beholdוְהִנָּ֛םve.hi.NamH2009,they plasterH2902it overH2902with whitewashתָּפֵֽל׃ta.FelH8602;

11sotellאֱמֹ֛ר'e.MorH559those who plasterH2902itoverH2902with whitewashתָפֵ֖לta.FelH8602,that it will fallוְיִפֹּ֑לve.yi.PolH5307. Afloodingשׁוֹטֵ֗ףsho.TefH7857rainגֶּ֣שֶׁםGe.shemH1653will comeהָיָ֣ה׀ha.YahH1961,and you, O hailstonesאַבְנֵ֤י'av.NeiH1259 H68,will fallתִּפֹּ֔לְנָהti.Po.le.nahH5307;and a violentסְעָר֖וֹתse.'a.RotH5591windוְר֥וּחַve.Ru.achH7307will breakתְּבַקֵּֽעַ׃te.va.Ke.a'H1234out.

12Beholdוְהִנֵּ֖הve.hi.NehH2009,when the wallהַקִּ֑ירha.KirH7023has fallenנָפַ֣לna.FalH5307,will you not be askedיֵאָמֵ֣רye.'a.MerH559, ‘Whereאַיֵּ֥ה'ai.YehH346is the plasterהַטִּ֖יחַha.Ti.achH2915with whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you plasteredטַחְתֶּֽם׃ סtach.TemH2902it?’”

13Thereforeלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651,thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068, “I will make a violentסְעָר֖וֹתse.'a.RotH5591windרֽוּחַ־Ru.ach-H7307breakוּבִקַּעְתִּ֥יu.vi.ka'.TiH1234out in My wrathבַּֽחֲמָתִ֑יba.cha.ma.TiH2534.There will also be in My angerבְּאַפִּ֣יbe.'a.PiH639a floodingשֹׁטֵף֙sho.TefH7857rainוְגֶ֤שֶׁםve.Ge.shemH1653andhailstonesוְאַבְנֵ֥י אֶלְגָּבִ֖ישׁve.'av.Nei 'el.ga.VishH417 H68to consumeH3615itin wrathבְּחֵמָ֥הbe.che.MahH2534.

14So I will tearוְהָ֨רַסְתִּ֜יve.Ha.ras.TiH2040downH2040the wallהַקִּ֨ירha.KirH7023whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834you plasteredטַחְתֶּ֥םtach.TemH2902overH2902with whitewashתָּפֵ֛לta.FelH8602and bringH5060it downH5060to the groundהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776, so that itsfoundationיְסֹד֑וֹye.so.DoH3247is laidH1540bareH1540;and when it fallsוְנָֽפְלָה֙ve.na.fe.LahH5307, you will beconsumedוּכְלִיתֶ֣םu.khe.li.TemH3615in its midstבְּתוֹכָ֔הּbe.to.KhahH8432. And you willknowוִֽידַעְתֶּ֖םvi.da'.TemH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

15Thus I will spendוְכִלֵּיתִ֤יve.khi.lei.TiH3615My wrathחֲמָתִי֙cha.ma.TiH2534on the wallבַּקִּ֔ירba.KirH7023and on those who have plasteredH2902it overH2902with whitewashתָּפֵ֑לta.FelH8602;and I will sayוְאֹמַ֤רve.'o.MarH559to you, ‘The wallהַקִּ֔ירha.KirH7023is goneאֵ֣ין'einH369and its plasterersH2902are goneוְאֵ֖יןve.'EinH369,

16along withthe prophetsנְבִיאֵ֣יne.vi.'EiH5030of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478who prophesyהַֽנִבְּאִים֙ha.ni.be.'ImH5012to Jerusalemיְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םye.Ru.sha.LimH3389, and whoseeH7200visionsחֲז֣וֹןcha.ZonH2377of peaceשָׁלֹ֑םsha.LomH7965for her when thereH369isnoH369peaceשָׁלֹ֔םsha.LomH7965,’declaresנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordאֲדֹנָ֥י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068.

17“Now you, sonבֶן־ven-H1121of manאָדָ֗ם'a.DamH120,setשִׂ֤יםsimH7760your faceפָּנֶ֙יךָ֙pa.Nei.khaH6440againstאֶל־'el-H413the daughtersבְּנ֣וֹתbe.NotH1323of your peopleעַמְּךָ֔'a.me.KhaH5971who areprophesyingהַמִּֽתְנַבְּא֖וֹתha.mit.na.be.'otH5012from their owninspirationמִֽלִּבְּהֶ֑ןmi.li.be.HenH3820.Prophesyוְהִנָּבֵ֖אve.hi.na.Ve'H5012againstעֲלֵיהֶֽן׃'a.lei.HenH5921them

18and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֞ve.'a.mar.TaH559, ‘Thusכֹּה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֣ר׀'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068, “Woeהוֹי֩hOH1945to the women who sewלִֽמְתַפְּר֨וֹתlim.ta.pe.RotH8609magicbandsכְּסָת֜וֹתke.sa.TotH3704onallכָּל־kol-H3605wristsאַצִּילֵ֣י יָדַ֗י'a.tzi.Lei ya.DaiH3027 H679and makeוְעֹשׂ֧וֹתve.'o.SotH6213veilsהַמִּסְפָּח֛וֹתha.mis.pa.ChotH4555for the headsרֹ֥אשׁroshH7218of personsof everyכָּל־kol-H3605statureקוֹמָ֖הko.MahH6967tohuntלְצוֹדֵ֣דle.tzo.DedH6679downH6679livesנְפָשׁ֑וֹתne.fa.ShotH5315!Will you huntתְּצוֹדֵ֣דְנָהte.tzo.De.de.nahH6679downH6679thelivesהַנְּפָשׁוֹת֙ha.ne.fa.shOtH5315of My peopleלְעַמִּ֔יle.'a.MiH5971,but preserveתְחַיֶּֽינָה׃te.chai.Yei.nahH2421thelivesוּנְפָשׁ֖וֹתu.ne.fa.ShotH5315of others for yourselves?

19For handfulsבְּשַׁעֲלֵ֣יbe.sha.'a.LeiH8168of barleyשְׂעֹרִים֮se.'o.RimH8184and fragmentsH6604of breadלֶחֶם֒le.ChemH3899,you have profanedוַתְּחַלֶּלְ֨נָהva.te.cha.leL.nahH2490Me to My peopleעַמִּ֗י'a.MiH5971to putH4191to deathלְהָמִ֤יתle.ha.MitH4191someנְפָשׁוֹת֙ne.fa.shOtH5315whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834should not dieתְמוּתֶ֔נָהte.mu.Te.nahH4191and tokeepH2421othersנְפָשׁ֖וֹתne.fa.ShotH5315aliveוּלְחַיּ֥וֹתu.le.chai.YotH2421whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834should not liveתִֽחְיֶ֑ינָהtich.Yei.nahH2421,by your lyingבְּכַ֨זֶּבְכֶ֔םbe.Kha.zev.KhemH3576to My peopleלְעַמִּ֖יle.'a.MiH5971who listenשֹׁמְעֵ֥יsho.me.'EiH8085to liesכָזָֽב׃ סkha.ZavH3577.”’”

20Thereforeלָכֵ֞ןla.KhenH3651,thusכֹּה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֣ר׀'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068, “BeholdH2009,I am againstאֶל־'el-H413your magicbandsכִּסְּתוֹתֵיכֶ֙נָה֙ki.se.to.tei.Khe.nahH3704by whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834you huntמְצֹדְד֨וֹתme.tzo.de.DotH6679livesH5315thereשָׁ֤םshamH8033asbirdsלְפֹ֣רְח֔וֹתle.Fo.re.ChotH6524and I will tearוְקָרַעְתִּ֣יve.ka.ra'.TiH7167them from your armsזְרוֹעֹֽתֵיכֶ֑םze.ro.'o.tei.KhemH2220;and I will letH7971them goH7971,evenH853thoselivesH5315whomאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you huntמְצֹדְד֥וֹתme.tzo.de.DotH6679asbirdsלְפֹרְחֹֽת׃le.fo.re.ChotH6524.

21I will also tearוְקָרַעְתִּ֞יve.ka.ra'.TiH7167off your veilsמִסְפְּחֹֽתֵיכֶ֗םmis.pe.cho.tei.KhemH4555anddeliverוְהִצַּלְתִּ֤יve.hi.tzal.TiH5337My peopleעַמִּי֙'a.MiH5971from your handsמִיֶּדְכֶ֔ןmi.yed.KhenH3027,and they will noוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808longerע֛וֹדodH5750be in your handsבְּיֶדְכֶ֖ןbe.yed.KhenH3027to be huntedלִמְצוּדָ֑הlim.tzu.DahH4686;and you will knowוִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ןvi.da'.TenH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

22Becauseיַ֣עַןYa.'anH3282youdisheartenedהַכְא֤וֹתhakh.'otH3512the righteousצַדִּיק֙tza.DikH6662with falsehoodשֶׁ֔קֶרShe.kerH8267when I did not causeH3510him griefH3510, but haveencouragedוּלְחַזֵּק֙ יְדֵ֣יu.le.cha.Zek ye.DeiH2388 H3027the wickedרָשָׁ֔עra.Sha'H7563not toturnשׁ֛וּבshuvH7725from his wickedהָרָ֖עha.Ra'H7451wayמִדַּרְכּ֥וֹmi.dar.KoH1870andpreserveלְהַחֲיֹתֽוֹ׃le.ha.cha.yo.ToH2421his lifeH2421,

23thereforeלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651,you women will noH3808longerע֑וֹדodH5750seeH7200falseH7723visionsH7723or practiceתִקְסַ֣מְנָהtik.Sam.nahH7080divinationוְקֶ֖סֶםve.Ke.semH7081, and I willdeliverוְהִצַּלְתִּ֤יve.hi.tzal.TiH5337My peopleעַמִּי֙'a.MiH5971out of your handמִיֶּדְכֶ֔ןmi.yed.KhenH3027. Thus you willknowוִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ןvi.da'.TenH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.”
