2And the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068cameוַיְהִ֥יvay.HiH1961to me sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

3“Sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֗ם'a.DamH120,speakדַּבֵּ֞רda.BerH1696to the eldersזִקְנֵ֤יzik.NeiH2205of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559to them, ‘Thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GodH3068, “Do you comeבָּאִ֑יםba.'ImH935to inquireהֲלִדְרֹ֥שׁha.lid.RoshH1875of Me? As I liveחַי־chai-H2416,”declaresנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordאֲדֹנָ֥י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068, “I will not be inquiredאִדָּרֵ֣שׁ'i.da.ReshH1875of by you.”’

4Will you judgeהֲתִשְׁפֹּ֣טha.tish.PotH8199them, will you judgeהֲתִשְׁפּ֖וֹטha.tish.PotH8199them, sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֑ם'a.DamH120?Make them knowהוֹדִיעֵֽם׃ho.di.'EmH3045the abominationsתּוֹעֲבֹ֥תto.'a.VotH8441of their fathersאֲבוֹתָ֖ם'a.vo.TamH1;

6on that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117I sworeנָשָׂ֤אתִי יָדִי֙na.Sa.ti ya.DiH5375 H3027to them,to bringלְהֽוֹצִיאָ֖םle.ho.tzi.'AmH3318them out from the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714into a landאֶ֜רֶץ'E.retzH776that I hadselectedתַּ֣רְתִּיTar.tiH8446for them,flowingזָבַ֤תza.VatH2100with milkחָלָב֙cha.LavH2461and honeyוּדְבַ֔שׁu.de.VashH1706,whichH1931isthe gloryצְבִ֥יtze.ViH6643of allלְכָל־le.kholH3605landsהָאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ha.'a.ra.TzotH776.

7I saidוָאֹמַ֣רva.'o.MarH559to them, ‘CastH7993awayהַשְׁלִ֔יכוּhash.Li.khuH7993,eachאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of you, the detestableשִׁקּוּצֵ֤יshi.ku.TzeiH8251thingsH8251of his eyesעֵינָיו֙'ei.NavH5869, anddo not defileתִּטַּמָּ֑אוּti.ta.Ma.'uH2930yourselves with the idolsוּבְגִלּוּלֵ֥יu.ve.gi.lu.LeiH1544of Egyptמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714;I am the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃'e.lo.hei.KhemH430.’

8But theyrebelledוַיַּמְרוּ־vai.yam.ru-H4784against Me and were not willingאָבוּ֙'a.VuH14to listenלִּשְׁמֹ֣עַlish.Mo.a'H8085to Me;they did not castH7993awayהִשְׁלִ֔יכוּhish.Li.khuH7993the detestableשִׁקּוּצֵ֤יshi.ku.TzeiH8251thingsH8251of their eyesעֵֽינֵיהֶם֙'ei.nei.HemH5869,norH3808did they forsakeעָזָ֑בוּ'a.Za.vuH5800theidolsגִּלּוּלֵ֥יgi.lu.LeiH1544of Egyptמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714. Then Iresolvedוָאֹמַ֞רva.'o.MarH559topourלִשְׁפֹּ֧ךְlish.PokhH8210out My wrathחֲמָתִ֣יcha.ma.TiH2534on them, to accomplishלְכַלּ֤וֹתle.kha.LotH3615My angerאַפִּי֙'a.PiH639against them in the midstבְּת֖וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

9But I actedוָאַ֙עַשׂ֙va.'A.'asH6213for the sakeלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616of My nameשְׁמִ֔יshe.MiH8034, that it shouldnot be profanedהֵחֵ֛לhe.ChelH2490in the sightלְעֵינֵ֥יle.'ei.NeiH5869of the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֖םha.go.YimH1471amongבְתוֹכָ֑םve.to.KhamH8432whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834they lived,in whoseאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834sightלְעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔םle.'Ei.nei.HemH5869I madeH3045Myself knownH3045to them by bringingלְהוֹצִיאָ֖םle.ho.tzi.'AmH3318them out of the landמֵאֶ֥רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

10So I tookוָאֽוֹצִיאֵ֖םva.'o.tzi.'EmH3318them out of the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714and broughtוָאֲבִאֵ֖םva.'a.vi.'EmH935them into thewildernessהַמִּדְבָּֽר׃ha.mid.BarH4057.

11I gaveוָאֶתֵּ֤ןva.'e.TenH5414them Mystatutesחֻקּוֹתַ֔יchu.ko.TaiH2708and informedהוֹדַ֣עְתִּיho.Da'.tiH3045them of My ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטַ֖יmish.pa.TaiH4941, bywhichאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834,if a manהָאָדָ֖םha.'a.DamH120observesיַעֲשֶׂ֥הya.'a.SehH6213them, he will liveוָחַ֥יva.ChaiH2421.

12Alsoוְגַ֤םve.GamH1571I gaveנָתַ֣תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414them My sabbathsשַׁבְּתוֹתַי֙sha.be.to.TaiH7676to be asignלְא֔וֹתle.'otH226betweenH996Me and them, that they might knowלָדַ֕עַתla.Da.'atH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068who sanctifiesמְקַדְּשָֽׁם׃me.ka.de.ShamH6942them.

13But the houseבֵֽית־veit-H1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לYis.ra.'ElH3478rebelledוַיַּמְרוּ־vai.yam.ru-H4784against Me in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֗רba.mid.BarH4057.They did not walkהָלָ֜כוּha.La.khuH1980in My statutesבְּחֻקּוֹתַ֨יbe.chu.ko.TaiH2708and they rejectedמָאָ֗סוּma.'A.suH3988My ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטַ֣יmish.pa.TaiH4941,by whichאֲשֶׁר֩'a.SherH834,if a manהָֽאָדָם֙ha.'a.DamH120observesיַעֲשֶׂ֨הya.'a.SehH6213them, he will liveוָחַ֣יva.ChaiH2421; and Mysabbathsשַׁבְּתֹתַ֖יsha.be.to.TaiH7676they greatlyמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966profanedחִלְּל֣וּchi.le.LuH2490. Then Iresolvedוָאֹמַ֞רva.'o.MarH559topourלִשְׁפֹּ֨ךְlish.PokhH8210out My wrathחֲמָתִ֧יcha.ma.TiH2534on them in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֖רba.mid.BarH4057,to annihilateלְכַלּוֹתָֽם׃le.kha.lo.TamH3615them.

14But I actedוָאֶעֱשֶׂ֖הva.'e.'e.SehH6213for the sakeלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616of My nameשְׁמִ֑יshe.MiH8034,that it should not be profanedהֵחֵל֙he.ChelH2490in the sightלְעֵינֵ֣יle.'ei.NeiH5869of the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471,before whoseאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834sightלְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃le.'ei.nei.HemH5869I had broughtהוֹצֵאתִ֖יםho.tze.TimH3318them out.

15Alsoוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571I sworeנָשָׂ֧אתִי יָדִ֛יna.Sa.ti ya.DiH5375 H3027to them in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057that I would not bringהָבִ֨יאha.Vi'H935them into the landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I had givenנָתַ֗תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414them, flowingזָבַ֤תza.VatH2100with milkחָלָב֙cha.LavH2461and honeyוּדְבַ֔שׁu.de.VashH1706,whichהִ֖יאhi'H1931is the gloryצְבִ֥יtze.ViH6643of allלְכָל־le.kholH3605landsהָאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ha.'a.ra.TzotH776,

16becauseיַ֜עַןYa.'anH3282they rejectedמָאָ֗סוּma.'A.suH3988My ordinancesבְּמִשְׁפָּטַ֣יbe.mish.pa.TaiH4941,and as for My statutesחֻקּוֹתַי֙chu.ko.TaiH2708,they did not walkהָלְכ֣וּha.le.KhuH1980in them; they even profanedחִלֵּ֑לוּchi.Le.luH2490My sabbathsשַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖יsha.be.to.TaiH7676, for theirheartלִבָּ֥םli.BamH3820continually wentהֹלֵֽךְ׃ho.LekhH1980afterאַחֲרֵ֥י'a.cha.ReiH310their idolsגִלּוּלֵיהֶ֖םgi.lu.lei.HemH1544.

17Yet My eyeעֵינִ֛י'ei.NiH5869sparedוַתָּ֧חָסva.Ta.chosH2347them ratherH4480thanH4480destroyingמִֽשַּׁחֲתָ֑םmi.sha.cha.TamH7843them, and I did not causeעָשִׂ֧יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213theirannihilationכָּלָ֖הka.LahH3617in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.

18“I saidוָאֹמַ֤רva.'o.MarH559to theirchildrenבְּנֵיהֶם֙be.nei.HemH1121in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֔רba.mid.BarH4057, ‘Do not walkתֵּלֵ֔כוּte.Le.khuH1980in the statutesבְּחוּקֵּ֤יbe.chu.KeiH2706of your fathersאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶם֙'a.vo.tei.KhemH1or keepתִּשְׁמֹ֑רוּtish.Mo.ruH8104their ordinancesמִשְׁפְּטֵיהֶ֖םmish.pe.tei.HemH4941or defileתִּטַּמָּֽאוּ׃ti.ta.Ma.'uH2930yourselves with their idolsוּבְגִלּוּלֵיהֶ֖םu.ve.gi.lu.lei.HemH1544.

19I am the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430;walkלֵ֑כוּLe.khuH1980in My statutesבְּחֻקּוֹתַ֖יbe.chu.ko.TaiH2708and keepשִׁמְר֖וּshim.RuH8104My ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטַ֥יmish.pa.TaiH4941andobserveוַעֲשׂ֥וּva.'a.SuH6213them.

20Sanctifyקַדֵּ֑שׁוּka.De.shuH6942My sabbathsשַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖יsha.be.to.TaiH7676;and they shall be a signלְאוֹת֙le.'OtH226betweenH996Me and you, that you may knowלָדַ֕עַתla.Da.'atH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃'e.lo.hei.KhemH430.’

21But thechildrenהַבָּנִ֗יםha.ba.NimH1121rebelledוַיַּמְרוּ־vai.yam.ru-H4784against Me; they did not walkהָ֠לָכוּHa.la.khuH1980in My statutesבְּחֻקּוֹתַ֣יbe.chu.ko.TaiH2708,norH3808were they carefulשָׁמְר֜וּsha.me.RuH8104to observeלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213My ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטַ֨יmish.pa.TaiH4941,by whichאֲשֶׁר֩'a.SherH834, ifa manהָֽאָדָם֙ha.'a.DamH120observesיַעֲשֶׂ֨הya.'a.SehH6213them, he will liveוָחַ֣יva.ChaiH2421;they profanedחִלֵּ֑לוּchi.Le.luH2490My sabbathsשַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖יsha.be.to.TaiH7676. 22But Iwithdrewוַהֲשִׁבֹ֙תִי֙va.ha.shi.Vo.tiH7725My handיָדִ֔יya.DiH3027and actedוָאַ֖עַשׂva.'A.'asH6213for the sakeלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616of My nameשְׁמִ֑יshe.MiH8034,that it should not be profanedהֵחֵל֙he.ChelH2490in the sightלְעֵינֵ֣יle.'ei.NeiH5869of the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471in whoseאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834sightלְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃le.'ei.nei.HemH5869I had broughtהוֹצֵ֥אתִיho.Tze.tiH3318them out.

23Alsoגַּם־gam-H1571I sworeנָשָׂ֧אתִי יָדִ֛יna.Sa.ti ya.DiH5375 H3027to them in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057that I wouldscatterלְהָפִ֤יץle.ha.FitzH6327them among the nationsבַּגּוֹיִ֔םba.go.YimH1471and disperseוּלְזָר֥וֹתu.le.za.RotH2219them among the landsבָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ba.'a.ra.TzotH776,

24becauseיַ֜עַןYa.'anH3282they had not observedעָשׂוּ֙'a.SuH6213My ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטַ֤יmish.pa.TaiH4941,but had rejectedמָאָ֔סוּma.'A.suH3988My statutesוְחֻקּוֹתַ֣יve.chu.ko.TaiH2708and had profanedחִלֵּ֑לוּchi.Le.luH2490My sabbathsשַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖יsha.be.to.TaiH7676, andtheir eyesעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃'ei.nei.HemH5869wereon the idolsגִּלּוּלֵ֣יgi.lu.LeiH1544of their fathersאֲבוֹתָ֔ם'a.vo.TamH1.

25I alsoוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571gaveנָתַ֣תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414them statutesחֻקִּ֖יםchu.KimH2706that werenot goodטוֹבִ֑יםto.VimH2896and ordinancesוּמִ֨שְׁפָּטִ֔יםu.Mish.pa.TimH4941by which they could not liveיִֽחְי֖וּyich.YuH2421;

26and I pronouncedH2930themuncleanוָאֲטַמֵּ֤אva.'a.ta.Me'H2930because of their giftsבְּמַתְּנוֹתָ֔םbe.ma.te.no.TamH4979, in that theycaused allכָּל־kol-H3605their firstbornH1060to passבְּהַעֲבִ֖ירbe.ha.'a.VirH5674throughH5674the firesoלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616that I might makeאֲשִׁמֵּ֔ם'a.shi.MemH8074them desolateH8074,in orderלְמַ֙עַן֙le.Ma.'anH4616that they mightknowיֵֽדְע֔וּye.de.'UH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.”’

27“Thereforeלָכֵ֞ןla.KhenH3651,sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֔ם'a.DamH120,speakדַּבֵּ֨רda.BerH1696to the houseבֵּ֤יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559to them, ‘Thusכֹּ֥הkohH3541saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068, “Yetע֗וֹדodH5750in thisH2088your fathersאֲב֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם'a.Vo.tei.KhemH1haveblasphemedגִּדְּפ֤וּgi.de.FuH1442Me byactingבְּמַעֲלָ֥םbe.ma.'a.LamH4603treacherouslyH4603against Me.

28When I hadbroughtוָאֲבִיאֵם֙va.'a.vi.'EmH935them into the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834I sworeנָשָׂ֙אתִי֙ יָדִ֔יna.Sa.ti ya.DiH5375 H3027to giveלָתֵ֥תla.TetH5414to them, then they sawוַיִּרְאוּ֩vai.yir.'UH7200everyכָל־khol-H3605highרָמָ֜הra.MahH7311hillגִּבְעָ֨הgiv.'AhH1389and everyוְכָל־ve.kholH3605leafyעָבֹ֗ת'a.VotH5687treeעֵ֣ץ'etzH6086,and they offeredוַיִּזְבְּחוּ־vai.yiz.be.chu-H2076thereשָׁ֤םshamH8033their sacrificesזִבְחֵיהֶם֙ziv.chei.HemH2077and thereשָׁם֙shamH8033they presentedוַיִּתְּנוּ־vai.yi.te.nu-H5414the provocationכַּ֣עַסKa.'asH3708of their offeringקָרְבָּנָ֔םka.re.ba.NamH7133.Thereשָׁ֗םShamH8033also they madeוַיָּשִׂ֣ימוּvai.ya.Si.muH7760their soothingנִיח֣וֹחֵיהֶ֔םni.Cho.chei.HemH5207aromaרֵ֚יחַRei.achH7381and thereשָׁ֖םshamH8033they pouredוַיַּסִּ֥יכוּvai.ya.Si.khuH5258out their drinkנִסְכֵּיהֶֽם׃nis.kei.HemH5262offeringsH5262.

29Then I saidוָאֹמַ֣רva.'o.MarH559to them, ‘Whatמָ֣הmahH4100is the highהַבָּמָ֔הha.ba.MahH1116placeH1116to whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834you goהַבָּאִ֖יםha.ba.'ImH935?’So its nameשְׁמָהּ֙she.MahH8034is calledוַיִּקָּרֵ֤אvai.yi.ka.Re'H7121Bamahבָּמָ֔הba.MahH1117to thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.”’

30Thereforeלָכֵ֞ןla.KhenH3651,sayאֱמֹ֣ר׀'e.MorH559to the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478, ‘Thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068, “Will you defileנִטְמְאִ֑יםnit.me.'ImH2930yourselvesafter the mannerהַבְּדֶ֥רֶךְha.be.De.rekhH1870of yourfathersאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1and playH2181the harlotH2181afterוְאַחֲרֵ֥יve.'a.cha.ReiH310their detestableשִׁקּוּצֵיהֶ֖םshi.ku.tzei.HemH8251thingsH8251?
