1The wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068that came to Jeremiahיִרְמְיָ֥הוּyir.me.Ya.huH3414the prophetהַנָּבִ֖יאha.na.Vi'H5030against the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםpe.lish.TimH6430,before that Pharaohפַרְעֹ֖הfar.'OhH6547smoteיַכֶּ֥הya.KehH5221Gazaעַזָּֽה׃ ס'a.ZahH5804.

2Thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068;Behold, watersמַ֜יִםMa.yimH4325rise upעֹלִ֤ים'o.LimH5927out of the northמִצָּפוֹן֙mi.tza.fOnH6828,and shall be an overflowingשׁוֹטֵ֔ףsho.TefH7857floodלְנַ֣חַלle.Na.chalH5158,and shall overflowוְיִשְׁטְפוּ֙ve.yish.te.FuH7857the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776,and all that is thereinוּמְלוֹאָ֔הּu.me.lo.'AhH4393;the cityעִ֖יר'irH5892,and them that dwellוְיֹ֣שְׁבֵיve.Yo.she.veiH3427therein: then the menהָֽאָדָ֔םha.'a.DamH120shall cryוְזָֽעֲקוּ֙ve.za.'a.KuH2199,and all the inhabitantsיוֹשֵׁ֥בyo.ShevH3427of the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776shall howlוְהֵילִ֕לve.hei.LilH3213.

3At the noiseמִקּ֗וֹלmi.KolH6963of the stampingשַֽׁעֲטַת֙sha.'a.TatH8161of the hoofsפַּרְס֣וֹתpar.SotH6541of his strongאַבִּירָ֔יו'a.bi.RavH47horses,at the rushingמֵרַ֣עַשׁme.Ra.'ashH7494of his chariotsלְרִכְבּ֔וֹle.rikh.BoH7393, and atthe rumblingהֲמ֖וֹןha.MonH1995of his wheelsגַּלְגִּלָּ֑יוgal.gi.LavH1534,the fathersאָבוֹת֙'a.VotH1shall not look backהִפְנ֤וּhif.NuH6437to theirchildrenבָּנִ֔יםba.NimH1121for feeblenessמֵֽרִפְי֖וֹןme.rif.YonH7510of handsיָדָֽיִם׃ya.Da.yimH3027;

4Because of the dayהַיּ֗וֹםhai.YomH3117that comethהַבָּא֙ha.Ba'H935to spoilלִשְׁד֣וֹדlish.DodH7703all the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֔יםpe.lish.TimH6430, andto cut offלְהַכְרִ֤יתle.hakh.RitH3772from Tyrusלְצֹר֙le.TzorH6865and Zidonוּלְצִיד֔וֹןu.le.tzi.DonH6721every helperעֹזֵ֑ר'o.ZerH5826that remainethשָׂרִ֣ידsa.RidH8300:for the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068will spoilשֹׁדֵ֤דsho.DedH7703the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֔יםpe.lish.TimH6430,the remnantשְׁאֵרִ֖יתshe.'e.RitH7611of the countryאִ֥י'iH339of Caphtorכַפְתּֽוֹר׃khaf.TorH3731.

5Baldnessקָרְחָה֙ka.re.ChahH7144is comeבָּ֤אָהBa.'ahH935upon Gazaעַזָּ֔ה'a.ZahH5804;Ashkelonאַשְׁקְל֖וֹן'ash.ke.LonH831is cut offנִדְמְתָ֥הnid.me.TahH1820withthe remnantשְׁאֵרִ֣יתshe.'e.RitH7611of their valleyעִמְקָ֑ם'im.KamH6010:how long wilt thou cutתִּתְגּוֹדָֽדִי׃ סtit.go.Da.diH1413thyself?

6Oה֗וֹיHoH1945thou swordחֶ֚רֶבChe.revH2719of the Lordלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068, how long will it beereלֹ֣אlo'H3808thou be quietתִשְׁקֹ֑טִיtish.Ko.tiH8252?put upהֵאָֽסְפִי֙he.'a.se.FiH622thyself into thy scabbardתַּעְרֵ֔ךְta'.RekhH8593,restהֵרָגְעִ֖יhe.ra.ge.'IH7280,and be stillוָדֹֽמִּי׃va.Do.miH1826.

7How can it be quietתִּשְׁקֹ֔טִיtish.Ko.tiH8252,seeing the Lordוַֽיהוָ֖הva.Yah.wehH3068hath given it a chargeצִוָּה־tzi.vah-H6680against Ashkelonאַשְׁקְל֛וֹן'ash.ke.LonH831,and against the seaהַיָּ֖םhai.YamH3220shoreח֥וֹףChofH2348?there hath he appointedיְעָדָֽהּ׃ סye.'a.DahH3259it.
