1Then all the captainsשָׂרֵ֣יsa.ReiH8269of the forcesהַחֲיָלִ֔יםha.cha.ya.LimH2428,and Johananוְיֽוֹחָנָן֙ve.yo.cha.NanH3110the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Kareahקָרֵ֔חַka.Re.achH7143,and Jezaniahוִֽיזַנְיָ֖הvi.zan.YahH3153the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Hoshaiahהוֹשַֽׁעְיָ֑הho.sha'.YahH1955,and all the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971from the leastמִקָּטֹ֥ןmi.ka.TonH6996even unto the greatestגָּדֽוֹל׃ga.DolH1419,came nearוַֽיִּגְּשׁוּ֙vai.yi.ge.ShuH5066,

2And saidוַיֹּאמְר֞וּvai.yo.me.RuH559unto Jeremiahיִרְמְיָ֣הוּyir.me.Ya.huH3414the prophetהַנָּבִ֗יאha.na.Vi'H5030,Let, we beseech thee, our supplicationתְחִנָּתֵ֙נוּ֙te.chi.na.Te.nuH8467be acceptedתִּפָּל־ti.pol-H5307beforeלְפָנֶ֔יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440thee, and prayוְהִתְפַּלֵּ֤לve.hit.pa.LelH6419for us unto the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430, evenfor all this remnantהַשְּׁאֵרִ֣יתha.she.'e.RitH7611; (for we are leftנִשְׁאַ֤רְנוּnish.'Ar.nuH7604buta fewמְעַט֙me.'AtH4592of manyמֵֽהַרְבֵּ֔הme.har.BehH7235,as thine eyesעֵינֶ֖יךָ'ei.Nei.khaH5869do beholdרֹא֥וֹתro.'otH7200us:)

3That the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430may shewוְיַגֶּד־ve.ya.ged-H5046us the wayהַדֶּ֖רֶךְha.De.rekhH1870wherein we may walkH3212,and the thingהַדָּבָ֖רha.da.VarH1697that we may doנַעֲשֶֽׂה׃na.'a.SehH6213.

4Then Jeremiahיִרְמְיָ֤הוּyir.me.Ya.huH3414the prophetהַנָּבִיא֙ha.na.Vi'H5030saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto them, I have heardשָׁמַ֔עְתִּיsha.Ma'.tiH8085you;behold, I will prayמִתְפַּלֵּ֛לmit.pa.LelH6419unto the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430according to your wordsכְּדִבְרֵיכֶ֑םke.div.rei.KhemH1697; and it shall come to pass, thatwhatsoever thingהַדָּבָר֩ha.da.VarH1697the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068shall answerיַעֲנֶ֨הya.'a.NehH6030you, I will declareאַגִּ֣יד'a.GidH5046itunto you; I will keepH4513nothingדָּבָֽר׃da.VarH1697backH4513from you.

5Then they saidאָמְר֣וּ'a.me.RuH559to Jeremiahיִרְמְיָ֔הוּyir.me.Ya.huH3414,The Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068be a trueאֱמֶ֣ת'e.MetH571and faithfulוְנֶאֱמָ֑ןve.ne.'e.ManH539witnessלְעֵ֖דle.'EdH5707between us, if we doנַעֲשֶֽׂה׃na.'a.SehH6213not even according to all thingsהַ֠דָּבָרHa.da.vorH1697for the which the Lordיְהוָ֧הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430shall sendיִֽשְׁלָחֲךָ֜yish.la.cha.KhaH7971thee to us.

6Whether it begoodט֣וֹבTovH2896, or whether it beevilרָ֔עRa'H7451,we will obeyנִשְׁמָ֑עnish.Ma'H8085the voiceבְּק֣וֹל׀be.KolH6963of the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430,to whom weH580sendשֹׁלְחִ֥יםsho.le.ChimH7971thee; that it may be wellיִֽיטַב־yi.tav-H3190with us, when we obeyנִשְׁמַ֔עnish.Ma'H8085the voiceבְּק֖וֹלbe.KolH6963of the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ ס'e.lo.Hei.nuH430.

7And it came to pass afterמִקֵּ֖ץmi.KetzH7093tenעֲשֶׂ֣רֶת'a.Se.retH6235daysיָמִ֑יםya.MimH3117,that the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068came unto Jeremiahיִרְמְיָֽהוּ׃yir.me.Ya.huH3414.

8Then calledוַיִּקְרָ֗אvai.yik.Ra'H7121he Johananיֽוֹחָנָן֙yo.cha.NanH3110the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Kareahקָרֵ֔חַka.Re.achH7143,and all the captainsשָׂרֵ֥יsa.ReiH8269of the forcesהַחֲיָלִ֖יםha.cha.ya.LimH2428which werewith him, and all the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971from the leastלְמִקָּטֹ֥ןle.mi.ka.TonH6996even to the greatestגָּדֽוֹל׃ga.DolH1419,

9And saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto them, Thus saithאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,unto whom ye sentשְׁלַחְתֶּ֤םshe.lach.TemH7971me to presentלְהַפִּ֥ילle.ha.PilH5307your supplicationתְּחִנַּתְכֶ֖םte.chi.nat.KhemH8467beforeלְפָנָֽיו׃le.fa.NavH6440him;

10If ye will stillשׁ֤וֹבShovH7725abideתֵּֽשְׁבוּ֙te.she.VuH3427in this landבָּאָ֣רֶץba.'A.retzH776,then will I buildוּבָנִ֤יתִיu.va.Ni.tiH1129you, and not pull youdownאֶהֱרֹ֔ס'e.he.RosH2040,and I will plantוְנָטַעְתִּ֥יve.na.ta'.TiH5193you, and not pluck youupאֶתּ֑וֹשׁ'e.To.oshH5428:for I repentנִחַ֙מְתִּי֙ni.Cham.tiH5162me of the evilהָ֣רָעָ֔הha.ra.'AhH7451that I have doneעָשִׂ֖יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213unto you.

11Be not afraidתִּֽירְא֗וּti.re.'UH3372ofמִפְּנֵי֙mi.pe.NeiH6440the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֔לba.VelH894,of whomמִפָּנָ֑יוmi.pa.NavH6440ye are afraidיְרֵאִ֖יםye.re.'ImH3373;be not afraidתִּֽירְא֤וּti.re.'UH3372of him, saithנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068: for I amwith you to saveלְהוֹשִׁ֧יעַle.ho.Shi.a'H3467you, and to deliverוּלְהַצִּ֥ילu.le.ha.TzilH5337you from his handמִיָּדֽוֹ׃mi.ya.DoH3027.

12And I will shewוְאֶתֵּ֥ןve.'e.TenH5414merciesרַחֲמִ֖יםra.cha.MimH7356unto you, that he may have mercyוְרִחַ֣םve.ri.ChamH7355upon you, and cause you to returnוְהֵשִׁ֥יבve.he.ShivH7725to your own landאַדְמַתְכֶֽם׃'ad.mat.KhemH127.

13But if ye sayאֹמְרִ֣ים'o.me.RimH559,We will not dwellנֵשֵׁ֖בne.ShevH3427in this landבָּאָ֣רֶץba.'A.retzH776,neither obeyשְׁמֹ֔עַshe.Mo.a'H8085the voiceבְּק֖וֹלbe.KolH6963of the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃'e.lo.hei.KhemH430,

14Sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559,No; but we will goנָב֔וֹאna.Vo'H935into the landאֶ֤רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֙יִם֙mitz.Ra.yimH4714,where we shall seeנִרְאֶה֙nir.'EhH7200no warמִלְחָמָ֔הmil.cha.MahH4421,nor hearנִשְׁמָ֑עnish.Ma'H8085the soundוְק֥וֹלve.KolH6963of the trumpetשׁוֹפָ֖רsho.FarH7782,nor have hungerנִרְעָ֖בnir.'AvH7456of breadוְלַלֶּ֥חֶםve.la.Le.chemH3899;and there will we dwellנֵשֵֽׁב׃ne.ShevH3427:

15And now therefore hearשִׁמְע֥וּshim.'UH8085the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,ye remnantשְׁאֵרִ֣יתshe.'e.RitH7611of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063;Thus saithאָמַר֩'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֜וֹתtze.va.'otH6635,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478;If ye whollyשׂ֣וֹםSomH7760setתְּשִׂמ֤וּןte.si.MunH7760your facesפְּנֵיכֶם֙pe.nei.KhemH6440to enterלָבֹ֣אla.Vo'H935into Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,and goוּבָאתֶ֖םu.va.TemH935to sojournלָג֥וּרla.GurH1481there;

16Then it shall come to pass, thatthe swordהַחֶ֗רֶבha.Che.revH2719,which ye fearedיְרֵאִ֣יםye.re.'ImH3373,shall overtakeתַּשִּׂ֥יגta.SigH5381you there in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,and the famineוְהָרָעָ֞בve.ha.ra.'AvH7458,whereof ye were afraidדֹּאֲגִ֣יםdo.'a.GimH1672,shall follow closeיִדְבַּ֧קyid.BakH1692afterאַחֲרֵיכֶ֛ם'a.cha.rei.KhemH310you there in Egyptמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714;and there ye shall dieתָּמֻֽתוּ׃ta.Mu.tuH4191.

17So shall it be with all the menהָאֲנָשִׁ֗יםha.'a.na.ShimH582that setשָׂ֨מוּSa.muH7760their facesפְּנֵיהֶ֜םpe.nei.HemH6440to goלָב֤וֹאla.Vo'H935into Egyptמִצְרַ֙יִם֙mitz.Ra.yimH4714to sojournלָג֣וּרla.GurH1481there; they shall dieיָמ֕וּתוּya.Mu.tuH4191by the swordבַּחֶ֖רֶבba.Che.revH2719,by the famineבָּרָעָ֣בba.ra.'AvH7458,and by the pestilenceוּבַדָּ֑בֶרu.va.Da.verH1698:and none of them shall remainשָׂרִ֣ידsa.RidH8300or escapeוּפָלִ֔יטu.fa.LitH6412fromמִפְּנֵי֙mi.pe.NeiH6440the evilהָֽרָעָ֔הha.ra.'AhH7451that I will bringמֵבִ֥יאme.Vi'H935upon them.

18For thus saithאָמַ֜ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאוֹת֮tze.va.'OtH6635,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֒Yis.ra.'ElH3478;As mine angerאַפִּ֜י'a.PiH639and my furyוַחֲמָתִ֗יva.cha.ma.TiH2534hath been poured forthנִתַּ֨ךְni.TakhH5413upon the inhabitantsיֹֽשְׁבֵי֙yo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םye.Ru.sha.LimH3389;so shall my furyחֲמָתִי֙cha.ma.TiH2534be poured forthתִּתַּ֤ךְti.TakhH5413upon you, when ye shall enterבְּבֹאֲכֶ֖םbe.vo.'a.KhemH935into Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714:and ye shall be an execrationלְאָלָ֤הle.'a.LahH423,and an astonishmentוּלְשַׁמָּה֙u.le.sha.MahH8047,and a curseוְלִקְלָלָ֣הve.lik.la.LahH7045,and a reproachוּלְחֶרְפָּ֔הu.le.cher.PahH2781;and ye shall seeתִרְא֣וּtir.'UH7200this placeהַמָּק֖וֹםha.ma.KomH4725no more.

19The Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068hath saidדִּבֶּ֨רdi.BerH1696concerning you, O ye remnantשְׁאֵרִ֣יתshe.'e.RitH7611of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063;Goתָּבֹ֖אוּta.Vo.'uH935ye not into Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714:knowיָדֹ֙עַ֙ya.Do.a'H3045certainlyתֵּֽדְע֔וּte.de.'UH3045that I have admonishedהַעִידֹ֥תִיha.'i.Do.tiH5749you this dayהַיּֽוֹם׃hai.YomH3117.

20For ye dissembledהִתְעֵיתֶם֮hit.'e.teimH8582in your heartsבְּנַפְשֽׁוֹתֵיכֶם֒be.naf.sho.tei.KhemH5315,when ye sentשְׁלַחְתֶּ֣םshe.lach.TemH7971me unto the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֙'e.lo.hei.KhemH430,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Prayהִתְפַּלֵּ֣לhit.pa.LelH6419for us unto the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430;and according unto all that the Lordיְהוָ֧הYah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֛ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430shall sayיֹאמַ֜רyo.MarH559,so declareהַגֶּד־ha.ged-H5046unto us, and we will doוְעָשִֽׂינוּ׃ve.'a.Si.nuH6213it.

21And nowI have this dayהַיּ֑וֹםhai.YomH3117declaredוָאַגִּ֥דva.'a.GidH5046itto you; but ye have not obeyedשְׁמַעְתֶּ֗םshe.ma'.TemH8085the voiceבְּקוֹל֙be.kOlH6963of the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430, nor any thingfor the which he hath sentשְׁלָחַ֥נִיshe.la.Cha.niH7971me unto you.

22Now therefore knowיָדֹ֣עַya.Do.a'H3045certainlyתֵּֽדְע֔וּte.de.'UH3045that ye shall dieתָּמ֑וּתוּta.Mu.tuH4191by the swordבַּחֶ֛רֶבba.Che.revH2719,by the famineבָּרָעָ֥בba.ra.'AvH7458,and by the pestilenceוּבַדֶּ֖בֶרu.va.De.verH1698,in the placeבַּמָּקוֹם֙ba.ma.kOmH4725whither ye desireחֲפַצְתֶּ֔םcha.fatz.TemH2654to goלָב֖וֹאla.Vo'H935andto sojournלָג֥וּרla.GurH1481.
