10The Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430hath multipliedהִרְבָּ֣הhir.BahH7235you, and, behold, ye arethis dayהַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117as the starsכְּכוֹכְבֵ֥יke.chokh.VeiH3556of heavenהַשָּׁמַ֖יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064for multitudeלָרֹֽב׃la.RoH7230.

13Takeהָב֣וּha.VuH3051you wiseחֲכָמִ֧יםcha.kha.MimH2450menאֲנָשִׁ֨ים'a.na.ShimH582,and understandingוּנְבֹנִ֛יםu.ne.vo.NimH995,and knownוִידֻעִ֖יםvi.du.'ImH3045among your tribesלְשִׁבְטֵיכֶ֑םle.shiv.tei.KhemH7626,and I will makeוַאֲשִׂימֵ֖םva.'a.si.MemH7760them rulersבְּרָאשֵׁיכֶֽם׃be.ra.shei.KhemH7218over you.

16And I chargedוָאֲצַוֶּה֙va.'a.tza.VehH6680your judgesשֹׁ֣פְטֵיכֶ֔םsho.fe.tei.KhemH8199at that timeבָּעֵ֥תba.'EtH6256,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Hearשָׁמֹ֤עַsha.Mo.a'H8085the causesbetween your brethrenאֲחֵיכֶם֙'a.chei.KhemH251,and judgeוּשְׁפַטְתֶּ֣םu.she.fa.TemH8199righteouslyצֶ֔דֶקTze.dekH6664between everymanאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376and his brotherאָחִ֖יו'a.ChivH251,and the strangerגֵּרֽוֹ׃ge.RoH1616that is with him.

17Ye shall not respectתַכִּ֨ירוּta.Ki.ruH5234personsפָנִ֜יםfa.NimH6440in judgmentבַּמִּשְׁפָּ֗טba.mish.PatH4941; butye shall hearתִּשְׁמָע֔וּןtish.ma.'UnH8085the smallכַּקָּטֹ֤ןka.ka.TonH6996as well as the greatכַּגָּדֹל֙ka.ga.DolH1419;ye shall not be afraidתָג֙וּרוּ֙ta.Gu.ruH1481of the faceמִפְּנֵי־mi.pe.nei-H6440of manאִ֔ישׁ'IshH376;for the judgmentהַמִּשְׁפָּ֖טha.mish.PatH4941isGod’sלֵאלֹהִ֣יםle.lo.HimH430:and the causeוְהַדָּבָר֙ve.ha.da.VarH1697that is too hardיִקְשֶׁ֣הyik.ShehH7185for you, bringתַּקְרִב֥וּןtak.ri.VunH7126itunto me, and I will hearוּשְׁמַעְתִּֽיו׃u.she.ma'.TivH8085it.

20And I saidוָאֹמַ֖רva.'o.MarH559unto you, Ye are comeבָּאתֶם֙ba.TemH935unto the mountainהַ֣רharH2022of the Amoritesהָאֱמֹרִ֔יha.'e.mo.RiH567,which the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430doth giveנֹתֵ֥ןno.TenH5414unto us.

21Beholdרְ֠אֵהRe.'ehH7200,the Lordיְהוָ֧הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430hath setנָתַ֨ןna.TanH5414the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776beforeלְפָנֶ֖יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440thee: go upעֲלֵ֣ה'a.LehH5927andpossessרֵ֗שׁReshH3423it,as the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֤י'e.lo.HeiH430of thy fathersאֲבֹתֶ֙יךָ֙'a.vo.Tei.khaH1hath saidדִּבֶּ֨רdi.BerH1696unto thee; fearתִּירָ֖אti.Ra'H3372not, neither be discouragedתֵּחָֽת׃te.ChatH2865.

22And ye came nearוַתִּקְרְב֣וּןva.tik.re.VunH7126unto me every one of you, and saidוַתֹּאמְר֗וּva.to.me.RuH559,We will sendנִשְׁלְחָ֤הnish.le.ChahH7971menאֲנָשִׁים֙'a.na.ShimH582beforeלְפָנֵ֔ינוּle.fa.Nei.nuH6440us, and they shall search us outוְיַחְפְּרוּ־ve.yach.pe.ru-H2658the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776,and bringוְיָשִׁ֤בוּve.ya.Shi.vuH7725us wordדָּבָ֔רda.VarH1697againH7725by what wayהַדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ha.De.rekhH1870we must go upנַעֲלֶה־na.'a.leh-H5927,and into what citiesהֶֽעָרִ֔יםhe.'a.RimH5892we shall comeנָבֹ֖אna.Vo'H935.

23And the sayingהַדָּבָ֑רha.da.VarH1697pleased me wellוַיִּיטַ֥ב בְּעֵינַ֖יvai.yi.Tav be.'ei.NaiH5869 H3190:and I tookוָאֶקַּ֤חva.'e.KachH3947twelveשְׁנֵ֣ים עָשָׂ֣רshe.Neim 'a.SarH6240 H8147menאֲנָשִׁ֔ים'a.na.ShimH582of you, oneאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259of a tribeאִ֥ישׁ לַשָּֽׁבֶט׃'ish la.Sha.vetH7626 H376:

24And they turnedוַיִּפְנוּ֙vai.yif.NuH6437and went upוַיַּעֲל֣וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927into the mountainהָהָ֔רָהha.Ha.rahH2022,and cameוַיָּבֹ֖אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935unto the valleyנַ֣חַלNa.chalH5158of Eshcolאֶשְׁכֹּ֑ל'esh.KolH812,and searched it outוַֽיְרַגְּל֖וּvay.ra.ge.LuH7270.

25And they tookוַיִּקְח֤וּvai.yik.ChuH3947of the fruitמִפְּרִ֣יmi.pe.RiH6529of the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776in their handsבְיָדָם֙ve.ya.DamH3027, and brought itdownוַיּוֹרִ֖דוּvai.yo.Ri.duH3381unto us, and broughtH7725us wordדָבָר֙da.VarH1697againH7725,and saidוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559, It isa goodטוֹבָ֣הto.VahH2896landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776which the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430doth giveנֹתֵ֥ןno.TenH5414us.

26Notwithstanding ye wouldאֲבִיתֶ֖ם'a.vi.TemH14not go upלַעֲלֹ֑תla.'a.LotH5927,but rebelledוַתַּמְר֕וּva.tam.RuH4784against the commandmentפִּ֥יpiH6310of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃'e.lo.hei.KhemH430:

27And ye murmuredוַתֵּרָגְנ֤וּva.te.ra.ge.NuH7279in your tentsבְאָהֳלֵיכֶם֙ve.'o.ho.lei.KhemH168,and saidוַתֹּ֣אמְר֔וּva.To.me.RuH559,Because the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068hatedבְּשִׂנְאַ֤תbe.sin.'AtH8135us, he hath brought us forthהוֹצִיאָ֖נוּho.tzi.'A.nuH3318out of the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,to deliverלָתֵ֥תla.TetH5414us into the handבְּיַ֥דbe.YadH3027of the Amoritesהָאֱמֹרִ֖יha.'e.mo.RiH567,to destroyלְהַשְׁמִידֵֽנוּ׃le.hash.mi.De.nuH8045us.

28Whither shall we go upעֹלִ֗ים'o.LimH5927?our brethrenאַחֵינוּ֩'a.chei.NuH251have discouragedהֵמַ֨סּוּhe.Ma.suH4549our heartלְבָבֵ֜נוּle.va.Ve.nuH3824,sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559,The peopleעַ֣ם'amH5971isgreaterגָּד֤וֹלga.DolH1419and tallerוָרָם֙va.RamH7311than we; the citiesעָרִ֛ים'a.RimH5892aregreatגְּדֹלֹ֥תge.do.LotH1419and walled upוּבְצוּרֹ֖תu.ve.tzu.RotH1219to heavenבַּשָּׁמָ֑יִםba.sha.Ma.yimH8064;and moreover we have seenרָאִ֥ינוּra.'I.nuH7200the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of the Anakimsעֲנָקִ֖ים'a.na.KimH6062there.

29Then I saidוָאֹמַ֖רva.'o.MarH559unto you, Dreadתַֽעַרְצ֥וּןta.'ar.TzunH6206not, neither be afraidתִֽירְא֖וּןtir.'UnH3372of them.

30The Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֙'e.lo.hei.KhemH430which goethהַהֹלֵ֣ךְha.ho.LekhH1980beforeלִפְנֵיכֶ֔םlif.nei.KhemH6440you, he shall fightיִלָּחֵ֣םyi.la.ChemH3898for you, according to all that he didעָשָׂ֧ה'a.SahH6213for you in Egyptבְּמִצְרַ֖יִםbe.mitz.Ra.yimH4714before your eyesלְעֵינֵיכֶֽם׃le.'ei.nei.KhemH5869;

31And in the wildernessוּבַמִּדְבָּר֙u.va.mid.BarH4057,where thou hast seenרָאִ֔יתָra.'I.taH7200how that the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430bareנְשָׂאֲךָ֙ne.sa.'a.KhaH5375thee, as a manאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376doth bearיִשָּׂא־yi.sa'-H5375his sonבְּנ֑וֹbe.NoH1121,in all the wayהַדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ha.De.rekhH1870that ye wentהֲלַכְתֶּ֔םha.lakh.TemH1980,until ye cameבֹּאֲכֶ֖םbo.'a.KhemH935into this placeהַמָּק֥וֹםha.ma.KomH4725.

32Yet in this thingוּבַדָּבָ֖רu.va.da.VarH1697ye did not believeמַאֲמִינִ֔םma.'a.mi.NimH539the Lordבַּיהוָ֖הba.Yah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃'e.lo.hei.KhemH430,

33Who wentH1980in the wayבַּדֶּ֗רֶךְba.De.rekhH1870beforeלִפְנֵיכֶ֜םlif.nei.KhemH6440you, to search you outלָת֥וּרla.TurH8446a placeמָק֖וֹםma.KomH4725to pitch your tentsלַֽחֲנֹֽתְכֶ֑םla.cha.no.te.KhemH2583in,in fireבָּאֵ֣שׁ׀ba.'EshH784by nightלַ֗יְלָהLay.lahH3915,to shewלַרְאֹֽתְכֶם֙lar.'o.te.KhemH7200you by what wayבַּדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ba.De.rekhH1870ye should goH3212,and in a cloudוּבֶעָנָ֖ןu.ve.'a.NanH6051by dayיוֹמָֽם׃yo.MamH3119.

34And the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068heardוַיִּשְׁמַ֥עvai.yish.Ma'H8085the voiceק֣וֹלKolH6963of your wordsדִּבְרֵיכֶ֑םdiv.rei.KhemH1697,and was wrothוַיִּקְצֹ֖ףvai.yik.TzofH7107,and swareוַיִּשָּׁבַ֥עvai.yi.sha.Va'H7650,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

35Surely there shall not oneאִישׁ֙'ishH376of these menבָּאֲנָשִׁ֣יםba.'a.na.ShimH582of this evilהָרָ֖עha.Ra'H7451generationהַדּ֥וֹרha.DorH1755seeיִרְאֶ֥הyir.'EhH7200that goodהַטּוֹבָ֔הha.to.VahH2896landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776,which I swareנִשְׁבַּ֔עְתִּיnish.Ba'.tiH7650to giveלָתֵ֖תla.TetH5414unto your fathersלַאֲבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃la.'a.vo.tei.KhemH1,

36Saveזֽוּלָתִ֞יzu.la.TiH2108Calebכָּלֵ֤בka.LevH3612the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jephunnehיְפֻנֶּה֙ye.fu.NehH3312;he shall seeיִרְאֶ֔נָּהyir.'E.nahH7200it, and to him will I giveאֶתֵּ֧ן'e.TenH5414the landהָאָ֛רֶץha.'A.retzH776thatH834he hath trodden uponדָּֽרַךְ־da.rakh-H1869,and to his childrenוּלְבָנָ֑יוu.le.va.NavH1121,because he hath whollyמִלֵּ֖אmi.Le'H4390followedאַחֲרֵ֥י'a.cha.ReiH310the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

38ButJoshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֤עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091the sonבִּןbin-H1121of Nunנוּן֙nunH5126,which standethהָעֹמֵ֣דha.'o.MedH5975beforeלְפָנֶ֔יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440thee, he shall go inיָ֣בֹאYa.vo'H935thither: encourageחַזֵּ֔קcha.ZekH2388him: for he shall cause Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478to inheritיַנְחִלֶ֥נָּהyan.chi.Le.nahH5157it.

41Then ye answeredוַֽתַּעֲנ֣וּ׀va.ta.'a.NuH6030and saidוַתֹּאמְר֣וּva.to.me.RuH559unto me, We have sinnedחָטָאנוּ֮cha.ta.NuH2398against the Lordלַֽיהוָה֒la.Yah.wehH3068,we will go upנַעֲלֶה֙na.'a.LehH5927and fightוְנִלְחַ֔מְנוּve.nil.Cham.nuH3898,according to all that the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430commandedצִוָּ֖נוּtzi.Va.nuH6680us. 42And the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto me, Sayאֱמֹ֤ר'e.MorH559unto them, Go not upתַֽעֲלוּ֙ta.'a.LuH5927,neither fightתִלָּ֣חֲמ֔וּti.La.cha.MuH3898; for I amnot amongבְּקִרְבְּכֶ֑םbe.kir.be.KhemH7130you; lest ye be smittenתִּנָּֽגְפ֔וּti.na.ge.FuH5062beforeלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440your enemiesאֹיְבֵיכֶֽם׃'o.ye.vei.KhemH341.

43So I spakeוָאֲדַבֵּ֥רva.'a.da.BerH1696unto you; and ye would not hearשְׁמַעְתֶּ֑םshe.ma'.TemH8085,but rebelledוַתַּמְרוּ֙va.tam.RuH4784against the commandmentפִּ֣יpiH6310of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and wentH5927presumptuouslyוַתָּזִ֖דוּva.ta.Zi.duH2102upH5927into the hillהָהָֽרָה׃ha.Ha.rahH2022.

44And the Amoritesהָאֱמֹרִ֜יha.'e.mo.RiH567,which dweltהַיֹּשֵׁ֨בhai.yo.ShevH3427in that mountainבָּהָ֤רba.HarH2022,came outוַיֵּצֵ֨אvai.ye.Tze'H3318againstH7125you, and chasedוַיִּרְדְּפ֣וּvai.yir.de.FuH7291you, as beesהַדְּבֹרִ֑יםha.de.vo.RimH1682doתַּעֲשֶׂ֖ינָהta.'a.Sei.nahH6213,and destroyedוַֽיַּכְּת֥וּvai.ya.ke.TuH3807you in Seirבְּשֵׂעִ֖ירbe.se.'IrH8165, evenunto Hormahחָרְמָֽה׃cha.re.MahH2767.

45And ye returnedוַתָּשֻׁ֥בוּva.ta.Shu.vuH7725and weptוַתִּבְכּ֖וּva.tiv.KuH1058beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068;but the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068would not hearkenשָׁמַ֤עsha.Ma'H8085to your voiceבְּקֹ֣לְכֶ֔םbe.Ko.le.KhemH6963,nor give earהֶאֱזִ֖יןhe.'e.ZinH238unto you.

46So ye abodeוַתֵּשְׁב֥וּva.te.she.VuH3427in Kadeshבְקָדֵ֖שׁve.ka.DeshH6946manyרַבִּ֑יםra.BimH7227daysיָמִ֣יםya.MimH3117,according unto the daysכַּיָּמִ֖יםkai.ya.MimH3117that ye abodeיְשַׁבְתֶּֽם׃ye.shav.TemH3427there.
