2The beginningתְּחִלַּ֥תte.chi.LatH8462of the wordדִּבֶּר־di.ber-H1696of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068by Hoseaבְּהוֹשֵׁ֑עַ פbe.ho.She.a'H1954.And the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Hoseaהוֹשֵׁ֗עַho.She.a'H1954,GoH3212,takeקַח־kach-H3947unto thee a wifeאֵ֤שֶׁת'E.shetH802of whoredomsזְנוּנִים֙ze.nu.NimH2183and childrenוְיַלְדֵ֣יve.yal.DeiH3206of whoredomsזְנוּנִ֔יםze.nu.NimH2183:for the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776hath committed greatזָנֹ֤הza.NohH2181whoredomתִזְנֶה֙tiz.NehH2181, departingfromמֵֽאַחֲרֵ֖יme.'a.cha.ReiH310the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

3So he wentH3212and tookוַיִּקַּ֔חvai.yi.KachH3947Gomerגֹּ֖מֶרGo.merH1586the daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of Diblaimדִּבְלָ֑יִםdiv.La.yimH1691;which conceivedוַתַּ֥הַרva.Ta.harH2029,and bareוַתֵּֽלֶד־va.te.led-H3205him a sonבֵּֽן׃BenH1121.

4And the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Callקְרָ֥אke.Ra'H7121his nameשְׁמ֖וֹshe.MoH8034Jezreelיִזְרְעֶ֑אלyiz.re.'ElH3157;for yet a littleמְעַ֗טme.'AtH4592while,and I will avengeוּפָ֨קַדְתִּ֜יu.Fa.kad.TiH6485the bloodדְּמֵ֤יde.MeiH1818of Jezreelיִזְרְעֶאל֙yiz.re.'eLH3157upon the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Jehuיֵה֔וּאye.Hu'H3058,and will cause to ceaseוְהִ֨שְׁבַּתִּ֔יve.Hish.ba.TiH7673the kingdomמַמְלְכ֖וּתmam.le.KhutH4468of the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

5And it shall come to pass at that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117,that I will breakוְשָֽׁבַרְתִּי֙ve.sha.var.TiH7665the bowקֶ֣שֶׁתKe.shetH7198of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478in the valleyבְּעֵ֖מֶקbe.'E.mekH6010of Jezreelיִזְרְעֶֽאל׃yiz.re.'ElH3157.

6And she conceived againוַתַּ֤הַרva.Ta.harH2029,and bareוַתֵּ֣לֶדva.Te.ledH3205a daughterבַּ֔תBatH1323. And Godsaidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Callקְרָ֥אke.Ra'H7121her nameשְׁמָ֖הּshe.MahH8034Lo–ruhamahH3819:for I will no moreאוֹסִ֜יף'o.SifH3254have mercyאֲרַחֵם֙'a.ra.ChemH7355upon the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478;but I will utterlyנָשֹׂ֥אna.So'H5375take them awayאֶשָּׂ֖א'e.Sa'H5375.

7But I will have mercyאֲרַחֵ֔ם'a.ra.ChemH7355upon the houseבֵּ֤יתbeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063,and will saveוְהֽוֹשַׁעְתִּ֖יםve.ho.sha'.TimH3467them by the Lordבַּיהוָ֣הba.Yah.wehH3068their Godאֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם'e.lo.hei.HemH430,and will not saveאֽוֹשִׁיעֵ֗ם'o.shi.'EmH3467them by bowבְּקֶ֤שֶׁתbe.Ke.shetH7198,nor by swordוּבְחֶ֙רֶב֙u.ve.Che.revH2719,nor by battleוּבְמִלְחָמָ֔הu.ve.mil.cha.MahH4421,by horsesבְּסוּסִ֖יםbe.su.SimH5483,nor by horsemenוּבְפָרָשִֽׁים׃u.ve.fa.ra.ShimH6571.

8Now when she had weanedוַתִּגְמֹ֖לva.tig.MolH1580Lo–ruhamahH3819,she conceivedוַתַּ֖הַרva.Ta.harH2029,and bareוַתֵּ֥לֶדva.Te.ledH3205a sonבֵּֽן׃BenH1121.

9Then saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559God,Callקְרָ֥אke.Ra'H7121his nameשְׁמ֖וֹshe.MoH8034Lo–ammiH3818: for ye arenot my peopleעַמִּ֔י'a.MiH5971, and I will not be your God.

10Yet the numberמִסְפַּ֤רmis.ParH4557of the childrenבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478shall be as the sandכְּח֣וֹלke.CholH2344of the seaהַיָּ֔םhai.YamH3220,which cannot be measuredיִמַּ֖דyi.MadH4058nor numberedיִסָּפֵ֑רyi.sa.FerH5608; and it shall come to pass, thatin the placeבִּמְק֞וֹםbim.KomH4725where it was saidיֵאָמֵ֤רye.'a.MerH559unto them, Ye arenot my peopleעַמִּ֣י'a.MiH5971, thereit shall be saidיֵאָמֵ֥רye.'a.MerH559unto them, Ye arethe sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of the livingחָֽי׃ChaiH2416Godאֵֽל־'el-H410.
