2Takeקַח־kach-H3947thee a rollמְגִלַּת־me.gi.lat-H4039of a bookסֵפֶר֒se.FerH5612,and writeוְכָתַבְתָּ֣ve.kha.tav.TaH3789therein all the wordsהַדְּבָרִ֞יםha.de.va.RimH1697that I have spokenדִּבַּ֧רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696unto thee against Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֥לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and against Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063,and against all the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֑םha.go.YimH1471,from the dayמִיּ֞וֹםmi.YomH3117I spakeדִּבַּ֤רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696unto thee, from the daysמִימֵ֣יmi.MeiH3117of Josiahיֹאשִׁיָּ֔הוּyo.shi.Ya.huH2977,even unto this dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.

3It may be that the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063will hearיִשְׁמְעוּ֙yish.me.'UH8085all the evilהָ֣רָעָ֔הha.ra.'AhH7451which I purposeחֹשֵׁ֖בcho.ShevH2803to doלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213unto them; that they may returnיָשׁ֗וּבוּya.Shu.vuH7725every manאִ֚ישׁ'ishH376from his evilהָרָעָ֔הha.ra.'AhH7451wayמִדַּרְכּ֣וֹmi.dar.KoH1870;that I may forgiveוְסָלַחְתִּ֥יve.sa.lach.TiH5545their iniquityלַעֲוֹנָ֖םla.'a.vo.NamH5771and their sinוּלְחַטָּאתָֽם׃ סu.le.cha.ta.TamH2403.

7It may be they will presentתִּפֹּ֤לti.PolH5307their supplicationתְּחִנָּתָם֙te.chi.na.TamH8467beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and will returnוְיָשֻׁ֕בוּve.ya.Shu.vuH7725every oneאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376from his evilהָרָעָ֑הha.ra.'AhH7451wayמִדַּרְכּ֣וֹmi.dar.KoH1870:for greatגָד֤וֹלga.DolH1419isthe angerהָאַף֙ha.'AfH639and the furyוְהַ֣חֵמָ֔הve.Ha.che.MahH2534that the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068hath pronouncedדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696against this peopleהָעָ֥םha.'AmH5971.

11When Michaiahמִכָ֨יְהוּmi.Kha.ye.huH4321the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Gemariahגְּמַרְיָ֧הוּge.mar.Ya.huH1587,the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Shaphanשָׁפָ֛ןsha.FanH8227,had heardוַ֠יִּשְׁמַ֗עvai.yish.Ma'H8085out of the bookהַסֵּֽפֶר׃ha.Se.ferH5612all the wordsדִּבְרֵ֥יdiv.ReiH1697of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,

18Then Baruchבָּר֔וּךְba.RukhH1263answeredוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559them, He pronouncedיִקְרָ֣אyik.Ra'H7121all these wordsהַדְּבָרִ֖יםha.de.va.RimH1697unto me with his mouthמִפִּיו֙mi.PivH6310,and I wroteכֹּתֵ֥בko.TevH3789themwith inkבַּדְּיֽוֹ׃ פba.de.YoH1773in the bookהַסֵּ֖פֶרha.Se.ferH5612.

19Then saidוַיֹּאמְר֤וּvai.yo.me.RuH559the princesהַשָּׂרִים֙ha.sa.RimH8269unto Baruchבָּר֔וּךְba.RukhH1263,GoH3212,hideהִסָּתֵ֖רhi.sa.TerH5641thee, thou and Jeremiahוְיִרְמְיָ֑הוּve.yir.me.Ya.huH3414;and let no manוְאִ֥ישׁve.'IshH376knowיֵדַ֖עye.Da'H3045whereאֵיפֹ֥ה'ei.FohH375ye be.

20And they went inוַיָּבֹ֤אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428into the courtחָצֵ֔רָהcha.Tze.rahH2691,but they laid upהִפְקִ֔דוּhif.Ki.duH6485the rollהַמְּגִלָּ֣הha.me.gi.LahH4039in the chamberבְּלִשְׁכַּ֖תbe.lish.KatH3957of Elishamaאֱלִישָׁמָ֣ע'e.li.sha.Ma'H476the scribeהַסֹּפֵ֑רha.so.FerH5608,and toldוַיַּגִּ֙ידוּ֙vai.ya.Gi.duH5046all the wordsהַדְּבָרִֽים׃ha.de.va.RimH1697in the earsבְּאָזְנֵ֣יbe.'a.ze.NeiH241of the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428.

22Now the kingוְהַמֶּ֗לֶךְve.ha.Me.lekhH4428satיוֹשֵׁב֙yo.ShevH3427in the winterhouseבֵּ֣ית הַחֹ֔רֶףbeit ha.Cho.refH2779 H1004in the ninthהַתְּשִׁיעִ֑יha.te.shi.'IH8671monthבַּחֹ֖דֶשׁba.Cho.deshH2320: and there was a fireon the hearthהָאָ֖חha.'AchH254burningמְבֹעָֽרֶת׃me.vo.'A.retH1197beforeלְפָנָ֥יוle.fa.NavH6440him.

23And it came to pass, thatwhen Jehudiיְהוּדִ֗יye.hu.DiH3065had readכִּקְר֣וֹאkik.Ro'H7121threeשָׁלֹ֣שׁsha.LoshH7969or fourוְאַרְבָּעָה֒ve.'ar.ba.'AhH702leavesדְּלָתוֹת֮de.la.tOtH1817,he cutיִֽקְרָעֶ֙הָ֙yik.ra.'E.haH7167it with the penknifeבְּתַ֣עַר הַסֹּפֵ֔רbe.Ta.'ar ha.so.FerH5608 H8593,and castוְהַשְׁלֵ֕ךְve.hash.LekhH7993itinto the fireהָאֵ֖שׁha.'EshH784that wason the hearthהָאָ֑חha.'AchH254,until all the rollהַמְּגִלָּ֔הha.me.gi.LahH4039was consumedתֹּם֙tomH8552in the fireהָאֵ֖שׁha.'EshH784that wason the hearthהָאָֽח׃ha.'AchH254.

24Yet they were not afraidפָחֲד֔וּfa.cha.DuH6342,nor rentקָרְע֖וּka.re.'UH7167their garmentsבִּגְדֵיהֶ֑םbig.dei.HemH899, neitherthe kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428,nor any of his servantsעֲבָדָ֔יו'a.va.DavH5650that heardהַשֹּׁ֣מְעִ֔יםha.Sho.me.'ImH8085all these wordsהַדְּבָרִ֖יםha.de.va.RimH1697.

25Nevertheless Elnathanאֶלְנָתָ֨ן'el.na.TanH494and Delaiahוּדְלָיָ֤הוּu.de.la.Ya.huH1806and Gemariahוּגְמַרְיָ֙הוּ֙u.ge.mar.Ya.huH1587had made intercessionהִפְגִּ֣עוּhif.Gi.'uH6293to the kingבַמֶּ֔לֶךְva.Me.lekhH4428that he would not burnשְׂרֹ֖ףse.RofH8313the rollהַמְּגִלָּ֑הha.me.gi.LahH4039:but he would not hearשָׁמַ֖עsha.Ma'H8085them.
