1The wordהַדָּבָ֛רha.da.VarH1697which came unto Jeremiahיִרְמְיָ֖הוּyir.me.Ya.huH3414from the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,when kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Zedekiahצִדְקִיָּ֗הוּtzid.ki.Ya.huH6667sentבִּשְׁלֹ֨חַbish.Lo.achH7971unto him Pashurפַּשְׁחוּר֙pash.ChurH6583the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Melchiahמַלְכִּיָּ֔הmal.ki.YahH4441,and Zephaniahצְפַנְיָ֧הtze.fan.YahH6846the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Maaseiahמַעֲשֵׂיָ֛הma.'a.se.YahH4641the priestהַכֹּהֵ֖ןha.ko.HenH3548,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

2Enquireדְּרָשׁ־de.rosh-H1875,I pray thee, of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068for usבַעֲדֵ֙נוּ֙va.'a.De.nuH1157;for Nebuchadrezzarנְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֥רne.vu.khad.re.TzarH5019kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֖לba.VelH894maketh warנִלְחָ֣םnil.ChamH3898against us; if so be that the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068will dealיַעֲשֶׂ֨הya.'a.SehH6213with us according to all his wondrous worksנִפְלְאֹתָ֔יוnif.le.'o.TavH6381,that he may go upוְיַעֲלֶ֖הve.ya.'a.LehH5927from us.

3Then saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559Jeremiahיִרְמְיָ֖הוּyir.me.Ya.huH3414unto them, Thus shall ye sayתֹאמְרֻ֖ןtom.RunH559to Zedekiahצִדְקִיָּֽהוּ׃tzid.ki.Ya.huH6667:

4Thus saithאָמַ֨ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478;Behold, I will turn backמֵסֵב֮me.SevH5437the weaponsכְּלֵ֣יke.LeiH3627of warהַמִּלְחָמָה֮ha.mil.cha.MahH4421that arein your handsבְּיֶדְכֶם֒be.yed.KhemH3027,wherewith ye fightנִלְחָמִ֣יםnil.cha.MimH3898against the kingמֶ֤לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Babylonבָּבֶל֙ba.VelH894, and againstthe Chaldeansהַכַּשְׂדִּ֔יםha.kas.DimH3778,which besiegeהַצָּרִ֣יםha.tza.RimH6696you withoutמִח֖וּץmi.ChutzH2351the wallsלַֽחוֹמָ֑הla.cho.MahH2346,and I will assembleוְאָסַפְתִּ֣יve.'a.saf.TiH622them into the midstתּ֖וֹךְTokhH8432of this cityהָעִ֥ירha.'IrH5892.

5And I myself will fightוְנִלְחַמְתִּ֤יve.nil.cham.TiH3898against you with an outstretchedנְטוּיָ֖הne.tu.YahH5186handבְּיָ֥דbe.YadH3027and with a strongחֲזָקָ֑הcha.za.KahH2389armוּבִזְר֣וֹעַu.viz.Ro.a'H2220,even in angerוּבְאַ֥ףu.ve.'AfH639,and in furyוּבְחֵמָ֖הu.ve.che.MahH2534,and in greatגָּדֽוֹל׃ga.DolH1419wrathוּבְקֶ֥צֶףu.ve.Ke.tzefH7110.

6And I will smiteוְהִכֵּיתִ֗יve.hi.kei.TiH5221the inhabitantsיֽוֹשְׁבֵי֙yo.she.VeiH3427of this cityהָעִ֣ירha.'IrH5892,both manהָאָדָ֖םha.'a.DamH120and beastהַבְּהֵמָ֑הha.be.he.MahH929:they shall dieיָמֻֽתוּ׃ya.Mu.tuH4191of a greatגָּד֖וֹלga.DolH1419pestilenceבְּדֶ֥בֶרbe.De.verH1698.

7And afterwardוְאַחֲרֵי־ve.'a.cha.rei-H310,saithנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֡הYah.wehH3068,I will deliverאֶתֵּ֣ן'e.TenH5414Zedekiahצִדְקִיָּ֣הוּtzid.ki.Ya.huH6667kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֣הye.hu.DahH3063,and his servantsעֲבָדָ֣יו׀'a.va.DavH5650,and the peopleהָעָ֡םha.'AmH5971,and such as are leftהַנִּשְׁאָרִים֩ha.nish.'a.RimH7604in this cityבָּעִ֨ירba.'IrH5892from the pestilenceהַדֶּ֣בֶר׀ha.De.verH1698,from the swordהַחֶ֣רֶבha.Che.revH2719,and from the famineהָרָעָ֗בha.ra.'AvH7458,into the handבְּיַד֙be.YadH3027of Nebuchadrezzarנְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֣רne.vu.khad.re.TzarH5019kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֔לba.VelH894,and into the handוּבְיַד֙u.ve.YadH3027of their enemiesאֹֽיְבֵיהֶ֔ם'o.ye.vei.HemH341,and into the handוּבְיַ֖דu.ve.YadH3027of those that seekמְבַקְשֵׁ֣יme.vak.SheiH1245their lifeנַפְשָׁ֑םnaf.ShamH5315:and he shall smiteוְהִכָּ֣םve.hi.KamH5221them with the edgeלְפִי־le.fi-H6310of the swordחֶ֔רֶבChe.revH2719;he shall not spareיָח֣וּסya.ChusH2347them, neither have pityיַחְמֹ֖לyach.MolH2550,nor have mercyיְרַחֵֽם׃ye.ra.ChemH7355.

8And unto this peopleהָעָ֤םha.'AmH5971thou shalt sayתֹּאמַ֔רto.MarH559,Thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068;Behold, I setנֹתֵן֙no.TenH5414beforeלִפְנֵיכֶ֔םlif.nei.KhemH6440you the wayדֶּ֥רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of lifeהַחַיִּ֖יםha.chai.YimH2416,and the wayדֶּ֥רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of deathהַמָּֽוֶת׃ha.Ma.vetH4194.

9He that abidethהַיֹּשֵׁב֙hai.yo.ShevH3427in this cityבָּעִ֣ירba.'IrH5892shall dieיָמ֕וּתya.MutH4191by the swordבַּחֶ֖רֶבba.Che.revH2719,and by the famineוּבָרָעָ֣בu.va.ra.'AvH7458,and by the pestilenceוּבַדָּ֑בֶרu.va.Da.verH1698:but he that goeth outוְהַיּוֹצֵא֩ve.hai.yo.Tze'H3318,and fallethוְנָפַ֨לve.na.FalH5307to the Chaldeansהַכַּשְׂדִּ֜יםha.kas.DimH3778that besiegeהַצָּרִ֤יםha.tza.RimH6696you, he shall liveוְחָיָ֔הve.cha.yahH2421,and his lifeנַפְשׁ֖וֹnaf.ShoH5315shall be unto him for a preyלְשָׁלָֽל׃le.sha.LalH7998.

10For I have setשַׂ֣מְתִּיSam.tiH7760my faceפָ֠נַיFa.naiH6440against this cityבָּעִ֨ירba.'IrH5892for evilלְרָעָ֛הle.ra.'AhH7451,and not for goodלְטוֹבָ֖הle.to.VahH2896,saithנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068:it shall be givenתִּנָּתֵ֔ןti.na.TenH5414into the handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of the kingמֶ֤לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Babylonבָּבֶל֙ba.VelH894,and he shall burnוּשְׂרָפָ֖הּu.se.ra.FahH8313it with fireבָּאֵֽשׁ׃ סba.'EshH784.

11And touching the houseוּלְבֵית֙u.le.VeitH1004of the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063, say,Hearשִׁמְע֖וּshim.'UH8085ye the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068;

12O houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Davidדָּוִ֗דda.VidH1732,thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068;Executeדִּ֤ינוּDi.nuH1777judgmentמִשְׁפָּ֔טmish.PatH4941in the morningלַבֹּ֙קֶר֙la.Bo.kerH1242,and deliverוְהַצִּ֥ילוּve.ha.Tzi.luH5337him that isspoiledגָז֖וּלga.ZulH1497out of the handמִיַּ֣דmi.YadH3027of the oppressorעוֹשֵׁ֑קo.ShekH6231,lest my furyחֲמָתִ֗יcha.ma.TiH2534go outתֵּצֵ֨אte.Tze'H3318like fireכָאֵ֜שׁkha.'EshH784,and burnוּבָעֲרָה֙u.va.'a.RahH1197that none can quenchמְכַבֶּ֔הme.kha.BehH3518it,becauseמִפְּנֵ֖יmi.pe.NeiH6440of the evilרֹ֥עַRo.a'H7455of your doingsמַעַלְלֵיכֶֽם׃ma.'a.lei.khemH4611.

13Behold, I amagainst thee, O inhabitantיֹשֶׁ֧בֶתyo.She.vetH3427of the valleyהָעֵ֛מֶקha.'E.mekH6010, androckצ֥וּרtzurH6697of the plainהַמִּישֹׁ֖רha.mi.ShorH4334,saithנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068;which sayהָאֹֽמְרִים֙ha.'o.me.RimH559,Who shall come downיֵחַ֣תye.ChatH5181against us? or who shall enterיָב֖וֹאya.Vo'H935into our habitationsבִּמְעוֹנוֹתֵֽינוּ׃bim.'o.no.Tei.nuH4585?

14But I will punishוּפָקַדְתִּ֧יu.fa.kad.TiH6485you according to the fruitכִּפְרִ֥יkif.RiH6529of your doingsמַעַלְלֵיכֶ֖םma.'a.lei.KhemH4611,saithנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068:and I will kindleוְהִצַּ֤תִּיve.hi.Tza.tiH3341a fireאֵשׁ֙'eshH784in the forestבְּיַעְרָ֔הּbe.ya'.RahH3293thereof, and it shall devourוְאָכְלָ֖הve.'a.khe.LahH398all things round aboutסְבִיבֶֽיהָ׃ סse.vi.Vei.haH5439it.
