1Now afterאַחֲרֵ֛י'a.cha.ReiH310the deathמ֥וֹתMotH4194of Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872the servantעֶ֣בֶד'E.vedH5650of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068it came to pass, that the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068spakeוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֣עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091the sonבִּן־bin-H1121of Nunנ֔וּןNunH5126,Moses’מֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872ministerמְשָׁרֵ֥תme.sha.RetH8334,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

2Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥הmo.ShehH4872my servantעַבְדִּ֖י'av.DiH5650is deadמֵ֑תMetH4191;now therefore ariseק֨וּםkumH6965,go overעֲבֹ֜ר'a.VorH5674this Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֣ןhai.yar.DenH3383,thou, and all this peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971,unto the landהָאָ֕רֶץha.'A.retzH776which I do giveנֹתֵ֥ןno.TenH5414to them, evento the childrenלִבְנֵ֥יliv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

3Every placeמָק֗וֹםma.KomH4725that the soleכַּֽף־kaf-H3709of your footרַגְלְכֶ֛םrag.le.KhemH7272shall tread uponתִּדְרֹ֧ךְtid.RokhH1869,that have I givenנְתַתִּ֑יוne.ta.TivH5414unto you, as I saidדִּבַּ֖רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696unto Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃mo.ShehH4872.

4From the wildernessמֵהַמִּדְבָּר֩me.ha.mid.BarH4057and this Lebanonוְהַלְּבָנ֨וֹןve.ha.le.va.NonH3844even unto the greatהַגָּד֣וֹלha.ga.DolH1419riverהַנָּהָ֧רha.na.HarH5104,the riverנְהַר־ne.har-H5104Euphratesפְּרָ֗תpe.RatH6578,all the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of the Hittitesהַֽחִתִּ֔יםha.chi.TimH2850,and unto the greatהַגָּד֖וֹלha.ga.DolH1419seaהַיָּ֥םhai.YamH3220toward the going downמְב֣וֹאme.Vo'H3996of the sunהַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁha.Sha.meshH8121,shall be your coastגְּבוּלְכֶֽם׃ge.vu.le.KhemH1366.

5There shall not any manאִישׁ֙'ishH376be able to standיִתְיַצֵּ֥בyit.ya.TzevH3320beforeלְפָנֶ֔יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440thee all the daysיְמֵ֣יye.MeiH3117of thy lifeחַיֶּ֑יךָchai.Yei.khaH2416:as I was with Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872, soI will be with thee: I will not failאַרְפְּךָ֖'ar.pe.KhaH7503thee, nor forsakeאֶעֶזְבֶֽךָּ׃'e.'ez.Ve.kaH5800thee.

6Be strongחֲזַ֖קcha.ZakH2388and of a good courageוֶאֱמָ֑ץve.'e.MatzH553:for unto this peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971shalt thou divide for an inheritanceתַּנְחִיל֙tan.ChilH5157the landהָאָ֕רֶץha.'A.retzH776,which I swareנִשְׁבַּ֥עְתִּיnish.Ba'.tiH7650unto their fathersלַאֲבוֹתָ֖םla.'a.vo.TamH1to giveלָתֵ֥תla.TetH5414them.

7Only be thou strongחֲזַ֨קcha.ZakH2388and veryמְאֹ֗דme.'OdH3966courageousוֶֽאֱמַ֜ץve.'e.MatzH553,that thou mayest observeלִשְׁמֹ֤רlish.MorH8104to doלַעֲשׂוֹת֙la.'a.sOtH6213according to all the lawהַתּוֹרָ֗הha.to.RahH8451,which Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872my servantעַבְדִּ֔י'av.DiH5650commandedצִוְּךָ֙tzi.ve.KhaH6680thee: turnתָּס֥וּרta.SurH5493not from it tothe right handיָמִ֣יןya.MinH3225or tothe leftוּשְׂמֹ֑אולu.se.MolH8040,that thou mayest prosperתַּשְׂכִּ֔ילtas.KilH7919whithersoever thou goestH3212.

8This bookסֵפֶר֩se.FerH5612of the lawהַתּוֹרָ֨הha.to.RahH8451shall not departיָמ֡וּשׁya.MushH4185out of thy mouthמִפִּ֗יךָmi.Pi.khaH6310;but thou shalt meditateוְהָגִ֤יתָve.ha.Gi.taH1897therein dayיוֹמָ֣םyo.MamH3119and nightוָלַ֔יְלָהva.Lay.lahH3915,that thou mayest observeתִּשְׁמֹ֣רtish.MorH8104to doלַעֲשׂ֔וֹתla.'a.SotH6213according to all that is writtenהַכָּת֖וּבha.ka.TuvH3789therein: for then thou shalt makeתַּצְלִ֥יחַtatz.Li.achH6743thy wayדְּרָכֶ֖ךָde.ra.Khe.khaH1870prosperousH6743,and then thou shalt have good successתַּשְׂכִּֽיל׃tas.KilH7919.

9Have not I commandedצִוִּיתִ֙יךָ֙tzi.vi.Ti.khaH6680thee? Be strongחֲזַ֣קcha.ZakH2388and of a good courageוֶאֱמָ֔ץve.'e.MatzH553;be not afraidתַּעֲרֹ֖ץta.'a.RotzH6206,neither be thou dismayedתֵּחָ֑תte.ChatH2865:for the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430iswith thee whithersoever thou goestH3212.

10Then Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091commandedוַיְצַ֣וvay.TzavH6680the officersשֹׁטְרֵ֥יsho.te.ReiH7860of the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

11Passעִבְר֣וּ׀'iv.RuH5674throughבְּקֶ֣רֶבbe.Ke.revH7130the hostהַֽמַּחֲנֶ֗הha.ma.cha.NehH4264,and commandוְצַוּ֤וּve.tza.VuH6680the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Prepareהָכִ֥ינוּha.Khi.nuH3559you victualsצֵידָ֑הtzei.DahH6720;for within threeשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁתshe.Lo.shetH7969daysיָמִ֗יםya.MimH3117ye shall pass overעֹֽבְרִים֙'oe.RimH5674this Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֣ןhai.yar.DenH3383,to go inלָבוֹא֙la.Vo'H935to possessלָרֶ֣שֶׁתla.Re.shetH3423the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776,which the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430givethנֹתֵ֥ןno.TenH5414you to possessלְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃ סle.rish.TahH3423it.

12And to the Reubenitesוְלָרֽאוּבֵנִי֙ve.la.r.'u.ve.NiH7206,and to the Gaditesוְלַגָּדִ֔יve.la.ga.DiH1425,and to halfוְלַחֲצִ֖יve.la.cha.TziH2677the tribeשֵׁ֣בֶטShe.vetH7626of Manassehהַֽמְנַשֶּׁ֑הham.na.ShehH4519,spakeאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

13Rememberזָכוֹר֙za.khOrH2142the wordהַדָּבָ֔רha.da.VarH1697which Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥הmo.ShehH4872the servantעֶֽבֶד־'e.ved-H5650of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680you, sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,The Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶם֙'e.lo.hei.KhemH430hath given you restמֵנִ֣יחַme.Ni.achH5117,and hath givenוְנָתַ֥ןve.na.TanH5414you this landהָאָ֥רֶץha.'A.retzH776.

14Your wivesנְשֵׁיכֶ֣םne.shei.KhemH802,your little onesטַפְּכֶם֮ta.pe.KhemH2945,and your cattleוּמִקְנֵיכֶם֒u.mik.nei.KhemH4735,shall remainיֵשְׁב֕וּye.she.VuH3427in the landבָּאָ֕רֶץba.'A.retzH776which Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872gaveנָתַ֥ןna.TanH5414you on this sideבְּעֵ֣בֶרbe.'E.verH5676Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֑ןhai.yar.DenH3383;but ye shall passתַּעַבְר֨וּta.'av.RuH5674beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440your brethrenאֲחֵיכֶ֗ם'a.chei.KhemH251armedחֲמֻשִׁ֜יםcha.mu.ShimH2571,all the mightyגִּבּוֹרֵ֣יgi.bo.ReiH1368men of valourהַחַ֔יִלha.Cha.yilH2428,and helpוַעֲזַרְתֶּ֖םva.'a.zar.TemH5826them;

15Until the Lordיְהוָ֥ה׀Yah.wehH3068have givenיָנִ֨יחַya.Ni.achH5117your brethrenלַֽאֲחֵיכֶם֮la.'a.chei.KhemH251restH5117, as he hath givenyou, and they also have possessedוְיָרְשׁ֣וּve.ya.re.ShuH3423the landהָאָ֕רֶץha.'A.retzH776which the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֖ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430givethנֹתֵ֣ןno.TenH5414them: then ye shall returnוְשַׁבְתֶּ֞םve.shav.TemH7725unto the landלְאֶ֤רֶץle.'E.retzH776of your possessionיְרֻשַּׁתְכֶם֙ye.ru.shat.KhemH3425,and enjoyוִֽירִשְׁתֶּ֣םvi.rish.TemH3423it, which Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872the Lord’sיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068servantעֶ֣בֶד'E.vedH5650gaveנָתַ֣ןna.TanH5414you on this sideבְּעֵ֥בֶרbe.'E.verH5676Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֖ןhai.yar.DenH3383toward the sunrisingמִזְרַ֥ח הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃miz.Rach ha.Sha.meshH8121 H4217.

16And they answeredוַֽיַּעֲנ֔וּvai.ya.'a.NuH6030Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,All that thou commandestצִוִּיתָ֙נוּ֙tzi.vi.Ta.nuH6680us we will doנַֽעֲשֶׂ֔הna.'a.SehH6213,and whithersoeverH834thou sendestתִּשְׁלָחֵ֖נוּtish.la.Che.nuH7971us, we will goH3212.

17According as we hearkenedשָׁמַ֙עְנוּ֙sha.Ma'.nuH8085unto Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872in all things, so will we hearkenנִשְׁמַ֣עnish.Ma'H8085unto thee: only the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430be with thee, as he was with Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃mo.ShehH4872.

18Whosoeverאִ֞ישׁ'ishH376he bethat doth rebelיַמְרֶ֣הyam.RehH4784against thy commandmentפִּ֗יךָPi.khaH6310,and will not hearkenיִשְׁמַ֧עyish.Ma'H8085unto thy wordsדְּבָרֶ֛יךָde.va.Rei.khaH1697in all that thou commandestתְּצַוֶּ֖נּוּte.tzav.Ve.nuH6680him, he shall be put to deathיוּמָ֑תyu.MatH4191:only be strongחֲזַ֥קcha.ZakH2388and of a good courageוֶאֱמָֽץ׃ פve.'e.MatzH553.
