19And these arethe generationsתּוֹלְדֹ֥תtol.DotH8435of Isaacיִצְחָ֖קyitz.ChakH3327,Abraham’sאַבְרָהָ֑ם'av.ra.HamH85sonבֶּן־ben-H1121:Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֖ם'av.ra.HamH85begatהוֹלִ֥ידho.LidH3205Isaacיִצְחָֽק׃yitz.ChakH3327:

20And Isaacיִצְחָק֙yitz.ChakH3327was fortyאַרְבָּעִ֣ים'ar.ba.'ImH705yearsשָׁנָ֔הsha.NahH8141oldבֶּן־ben-H1121when he tookבְּקַחְתּ֣וֹbe.kach.ToH3947Rebekahרִבְקָ֗הriv.KahH7259to wifeלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802,the daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of Bethuelבְּתוּאֵל֙be.tu.'ElH1328the Syrianהָֽאֲרַמִּ֔יha.'a.ra.MiH761of Padan–aramמִפַּדַּ֖ןmi.pa.DanH6307,the sisterאֲח֛וֹת'a.ChotH269to Labanלָבָ֥ןla.VanH3837the Syrianהָאֲרַמִּ֖יha.'a.ra.MiH761.

21And Isaacיִצְחָ֤קyitz.ChakH3327intreatedוַיֶּעְתַּ֨רvai.ye'.TarH6279the Lordלַֽיהוָה֙la.Yah.wehH3068forלְנֹ֣כַחle.No.khachH5227his wifeאִשְׁתּ֔וֹ'ish.ToH802, because she wasbarrenעֲקָרָ֖ה'a.ka.RahH6135:and the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068was intreatedוַיֵּעָ֤תֶרvai.ye.'A.terH6279of him, and Rebekahרִבְקָ֥הriv.KahH7259his wifeאִשְׁתּֽוֹ׃'ish.ToH802conceivedוַתַּ֖הַרva.Ta.harH2029.

22And the childrenהַבָּנִים֙ha.ba.NimH1121struggled togetherוַיִּתְרֹֽצֲצ֤וּvai.yit.ro.tza.TzuH7533within herבְּקִרְבָּ֔הּbe.kir.BahH7130;and she saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559, If it be so, why amI thusזֶּ֖הzehH2088?And she wentH3212to enquireלִדְרֹ֥שׁlid.RoshH1875of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

23And the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto her, Twoשְׁנֵ֤יshe.NeiH8147nationsגוֹיִם֙go.yimH1471arein thy wombבְּבִטְנֵ֔ךְbe.vit.NekhH990,and two mannerוּשְׁנֵ֣יu.she.NeiH8147of peopleלְאֻמִּ֔יםle.'u.MimH3816shall be separatedיִפָּרֵ֑דוּyi.pa.Re.duH6504from thy bowelsמִמֵּעַ֖יִךְmi.me.'A.yikhH4578; and the onepeopleוּלְאֹם֙u.le.'OmH3816shall be strongerיֶֽאֱמָ֔ץye.'e.MatzH553than the otherpeopleמִלְאֹ֣םmil.'OmH3816;and the elderוְרַ֖בve.RavH7227shall serveיַעֲבֹ֥דya.'a.VodH5647the youngerצָעִֽיר׃tza.'IrH6810.

24And when her daysיָמֶ֖יהָya.Mei.haH3117to be deliveredלָלֶ֑דֶתla.Le.detH3205were fulfilledוַיִּמְלְא֥וּvai.yim.le.'UH4390, behold, there weretwinsתוֹמִ֖םto.MimH8380in her wombבְּבִטְנָֽהּ׃be.vit.NahH990.

25And the firstהָרִאשׁוֹן֙ha.ri.shOnH7223came outוַיֵּצֵ֤אvai.ye.Tze'H3318redאַדְמוֹנִ֔י'ad.mo.NiH132,all over like an hairyשֵׂעָ֑רse.'ArH8181garmentכְּאַדֶּ֣רֶתke.'a.De.retH155;and they calledוַיִּקְרְא֥וּvai.yik.re.'UH7121his nameשְׁמ֖וֹshe.MoH8034Esauעֵשָֽׂו׃'e.SavH6215.

26And afterוְאַֽחֲרֵי־ve.'a.cha.rei-H310that cameH3318his brotherאָחִ֗יו'a.ChivH251outH3318,and his handוְיָד֤וֹve.ya.DoH3027took holdאֹחֶ֙זֶת֙'o.Che.zetH270on Esau’sעֵשָׂ֔ו'e.SavH6215heelבַּעֲקֵ֣בba.'a.KevH6119;and his nameשְׁמ֖וֹshe.MoH8034was calledוַיִּקְרָ֥אvai.yik.Ra'H7121Jacobיַעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290:and Isaacוְיִצְחָ֛קve.yitz.ChakH3327wasthreescoreשִׁשִּׁ֥יםshi.ShimH8346yearsשָׁנָ֖הsha.NahH8141oldבֶּן־ben-H1121when she bareבְּלֶ֥דֶתbe.Le.detH3205them.

27And the boysהַנְּעָרִ֔יםha.ne.'a.RimH5288grewוַֽיִּגְדְּלוּ֙vai.yig.de.LuH1431:and Esauעֵשָׂ֗ו'e.SavH6215was a cunningיֹדֵ֥עַyo.De.a'H3045hunterצַ֖יִדTza.yidH6718,a manH376of the fieldשָׂדֶ֑הsa.DehH7704;and Jacobוְיַעֲקֹב֙ve.ya.'a.KoH3290wasa plainתָּ֔םTamH8535manH376,dwellingיֹשֵׁ֖בyo.ShevH3427in tentsאֹהָלִֽים׃'o.ha.LimH168.

28And Isaacיִצְחָ֛קyitz.ChakH3327lovedוַיֶּאֱהַ֥בvai.ye.'e.HavH157Esauעֵשָׂ֖ו'e.SavH6215,because he did eatבְּפִ֑יוbe.FivH6310of hisvenisonצַ֣יִדTza.yidH6718:but Rebekahוְרִבְקָ֖הve.riv.KahH7259lovedאֹהֶ֥בֶת'o.He.vetH157Jacobיַעֲקֹֽב׃ya.'a.KoH3290.

29And Jacobיַעֲקֹ֖בya.'a.KoH3290sodוַיָּ֥זֶדvai.Ya.zedH2102pottageנָזִ֑ידna.ZidH5138:and Esauעֵשָׂ֛ו'e.SavH6215cameוַיָּבֹ֥אvai.ya.Vo'H935from the fieldהַשָּׂדֶ֖הha.sa.DehH7704, and he wasfaintעָיֵֽף׃'a.YefH5889:

30And Esauעֵשָׂ֜ו'e.SavH6215saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Jacobיַעֲקֹ֗בya.'a.KoH3290,Feedהַלְעִיטֵ֤נִיhal.'i.Te.niH3938me, I pray thee, withמִן־min-H4480that sameהָאָדֹ֤םha.'a.DomH122redהָאָדֹם֙ha.'a.DomH122pottage; for I amfaintעָיֵ֖ף'a.YefH5889:therefore was his nameשְׁמ֖וֹshe.MoH8034calledקָרָֽא־ka.ra'-H7121Edomאֱדֽוֹם׃'e.DomH123.

31And Jacobיַעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Sellמִכְרָ֥הmikh.RahH4376me this dayכַיּ֛וֹםkhai.YomH3117thy birthrightבְּכֹֽרָתְךָ֖be.kho.ra.te.KhaH1062.

32And Esauעֵשָׂ֔ו'e.SavH6215saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, Behold, I amat the pointהוֹלֵ֖ךְho.LekhH1980to dieלָמ֑וּתla.MutH4191:and what profit shall this birthrightבְּכֹרָֽה׃be.kho.RahH1062do to me?

33And Jacobיַעֲקֹ֗בya.'a.KoH3290saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Swearהִשָּׁ֤בְעָהhi.Sha.ve.'ahH7650to me this dayכַּיּ֔וֹםkai.YomH3117;and he swareוַיִּשָּׁבַ֖עvai.yi.sha.Va'H7650unto him: and he soldוַיִּמְכֹּ֥רvai.yim.KorH4376his birthrightבְּכֹרָת֖וֹbe.kho.ra.ToH1062unto Jacobלְיַעֲקֹֽב׃le.ya.'a.KoH3290.

34Then Jacobוְיַעֲקֹ֞בve.ya.'a.KoH3290gaveנָתַ֣ןna.TanH5414Esauלְעֵשָׂ֗וle.'e.SavH6215breadלֶ֚חֶםLe.chemH3899and pottageוּנְזִ֣ידu.ne.ZidH5138of lentilesעֲדָשִׁ֔ים'a.da.ShimH5742;and he did eatוַיֹּ֣אכַלvai.Yo.khalH398and drinkוַיֵּ֔שְׁתְּvai.Ye.shetH8354,and rose upוַיָּ֖קָםvai.Ya.komH6965,and went his wayH3212:thus Esauעֵשָׂ֖ו'e.SavH6215despisedוַיִּ֥בֶזvai.Yi.vezH959hisbirthrightהַבְּכֹרָֽה׃ סha.be.kho.RahH1062.
