1And Abramאַבְרָ֨ם'av.RamH87went upוַיַּעַל֩vai.ya.'AlH5927out of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֜יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,he, and his wifeוְאִשְׁתּ֧וֹve.'ish.ToH802,and all that he had, and Lotוְל֥וֹטve.LotH3876with him, into the southהַנֶּֽגְבָּה׃ha.Neg.bahH5045.

2And Abramוְאַבְרָ֖םve.'av.RamH87wasveryמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966richH3513in cattleבַּמִּקְנֶ֕הba.mik.NehH4735,in silverבַּכֶּ֖סֶףba.Ke.sefH3701,and in goldוּבַזָּהָֽב׃u.va.za.HavH2091.

3And he wentH3212on his journeysלְמַסָּעָ֔יוle.ma.sa.'AvH4550from the southמִנֶּ֖גֶבmi.Ne.gevH5045even to Beth–elH1008,unto the placeהַמָּק֗וֹםha.ma.KomH4725where his tentאָֽהֳלוֹ֙'o.ho.loH168had beenהָ֨יָהHa.yahH1961at the beginningבַּתְּחִלָּ֔הba.te.chi.LahH8462,between Beth–elH1008and Haiהָעָֽי׃ha.'AiH5857;

4Unto the placeמְקוֹם֙me.kOmH4725of the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַha.miz.Be.achH4196,which he had madeעָ֥שָׂה'A.sahH6213there at the firstבָּרִאשֹׁנָ֑הba.ri.sho.NahH7223:and there Abramאַבְרָ֖ם'av.RamH87calledוַיִּקְרָ֥אvai.yik.Ra'H7121on the nameבְּשֵׁ֥םbe.ShemH8034of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

5And Lotלְל֔וֹטle.LotH3876also, which wentהַהֹלֵ֖ךְha.ho.LekhH1980withאֶת־'et-H854Abramאַבְרָ֑ם'av.RamH87,had flocksצֹאן־tzon-H6629,and herdsוּבָקָ֖רu.va.KarH1241,and tentsוְאֹהָלִֽים׃ve.'o.ha.LimH168.

6And the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776was not able to bearנָשָׂ֥אna.Sa'H5375them, that they might dwellלָשֶׁ֣בֶתla.She.vetH3427togetherיַחְדָּ֑וyach.DavH3162:for their substanceרְכוּשָׁם֙re.khu.ShamH7399was greatרָ֔בRavH7227,so that they couldיָֽכְל֖וּya.khe.LuH3201not dwellלָשֶׁ֥בֶתla.She.vetH3427togetherיַחְדָּֽו׃yach.DavH3162.

7And there was a strifeרִ֗יבRivH7379between the herdmenרֹעֵ֣יro.'EiH7462of Abram’sאַבְרָ֔ם'av.RamH87cattleמִקְנֵֽה־mik.neh-H4735and the herdmenרֹעֵ֣יro.'EiH7462of Lot’sל֑וֹטLotH3876cattleמִקְנֵה־mik.neh-H4735:and the Canaaniteוְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ve.ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669and the Perizziteוְהַפְּרִזִּ֔יve.hap.pe.ri.ZiH6522dwelledיֹשֵׁ֥בyo.ShevH3427then in the landבָּאָֽרֶץ׃ba.'A.retzH776.

8And Abramאַבְרָ֜ם'av.RamH87saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Lotל֗וֹטLotH3876,Let there beתְהִ֤יte.HiH1961noאַל־'al-H408strifeמְרִיבָה֙me.ri.VahH4808,I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmenרֹעַ֖יro.'AiH7462and thy herdmenרֹעֶ֑יךָro.'Ei.khaH7462;for weאֲנָשִׁ֥ים'a.na.ShimH582bebrethrenאַחִ֖ים'a.ChimH251.

9Isnot the whole landהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ha.'A.retzH776before theeלְפָנֶ֔יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440?separate thyselfהִפָּ֥רֶדhi.Pa.redH6504, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt takethe left handהַשְּׂמֹ֣אלha.se.MolH8040,then I will go to the rightוְאֵימִ֔נָהve.'ei.Mi.nahH3231; or if thou departto the right handהַיָּמִ֖יןhai.ya.MinH3225,then I will go to the leftוְאַשְׂמְאִֽילָה׃ve.'as.me.'I.lahH8041.

10And Lotל֣וֹטLotH3876lifted upוַיִּשָּׂא־vai.yi.sa'-H5375his eyesעֵינָ֗יו'ei.NavH5869,and beheldוַיַּרְא֙vai.yaR'H7200all the plainכִּכַּ֣רki.KarH3603of Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֔ןhai.yar.DenH3383, that it waswell wateredמַשְׁקֶ֑הmash.KehH4945every where, beforeלִפְנֵ֣י׀lif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068destroyedשַׁחֵ֣תsha.ChetH7843Sodomסְדֹם֙se.DomH5467and Gomorrahעֲמֹרָ֔ה'a.mo.RahH6017, evenas the gardenכְּגַן־ke.gan-H1588of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,like the landכְּאֶ֣רֶץke.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,as thou comestבֹּאֲכָ֖הbo.'a.KhahH935unto Zoarצֹֽעַר׃Tzo.'arH6820.

11Then Lotל֗וֹטLotH3876choseוַיִּבְחַר־vai.yiv.char-H977him all the plainכִּכַּ֣רki.KarH3603of Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֔ןhai.yar.DenH3383;and Lotל֖וֹטLotH3876journeyedוַיִּסַּ֥עvai.yi.Sa'H5265eastמִקֶּ֑דֶםmi.Ke.demH6924:and they separated themselvesוַיִּפָּ֣רְד֔וּvai.yi.Pa.re.DuH6504the oneאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376from the otherאָחִֽיו׃'a.ChivH251.

12Abramאַבְרָ֖ם'av.RamH87dwelledיָשַׁ֣בya.ShavH3427in the landבְּאֶֽרֶץ־be.'e.retz-H776of Canaanכְּנָ֑עַןke.Na.'anH3667,and Lotוְל֗וֹטve.LotH3876dwelledיָשַׁב֙ya.ShavH3427in the citiesבְּעָרֵ֣יbe.'a.ReiH5892of the plainהַכִּכָּ֔רha.ki.KarH3603, and pitched histentוַיֶּאֱהַ֖לvai.ye.'e.HalH167towardעַד־'ad-H5704Sodomסְדֹֽם׃se.DomH5467.

13But the menוְאַנְשֵׁ֣יve.'an.SheiH582of Sodomסְדֹ֔םse.DomH5467werewickedרָעִ֖יםra.'ImH7451and sinnersוְחַטָּאִ֑יםve.cha.ta.'ImH2400before the Lordלַיהוָ֖הla.Yah.wehH3068exceedinglyמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966.

14And the Lordוַֽיהוָ֞הva.Yah.wehH3068saidאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559unto Abramאַבְרָ֗ם'av.RamH87,afterאַחֲרֵי֙'a.cha.ReiH310that Lotל֣וֹטLotH3876was separatedהִפָּֽרֶד־hi.pa.red-H6504from him, Lift upשָׂ֣אsa'H5375now thine eyesעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙'ei.Nei.khaH5869,and lookוּרְאֵ֔הu.re.'EhH7200from the placeהַמָּק֖וֹםha.ma.KomH4725where thou art northwardצָפֹ֥נָהtza.Fo.nahH6828,and southwardוָנֶ֖גְבָּהva.Neg.bahH5045,and eastwardוָקֵ֥דְמָהva.Ke.de.mahH6924,and westwardוָיָֽמָּה׃va.Ya.mahH3220:

15For all the landהָאָ֛רֶץha.'A.retzH776which thou seestרֹאֶ֖הro.'EhH7200,to thee will I give itאֶתְּנֶ֑נָּה'et.te.Ne.nahH5414,and to thy seedוּֽלְזַרְעֲךָ֖ul.zar.'a.KhaH2233forעַד־'ad-H5704everעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769.

16And I will makeוְשַׂמְתִּ֥יve.sam.TiH7760thy seedזַרְעֲךָ֖zar.'a.KhaH2233as the dustכַּעֲפַ֣רka.'a.FarH6083of the earthהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776:so thatאֲשֶׁ֣ר׀'a.SherH834if a manאִ֗ישׁ'IshH376canיוּכַ֣לyu.KhalH3201numberלִמְנוֹת֙lim.nOtH4487the dustעֲפַ֣ר'a.FarH6083of the earthהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776, thenshall thy seedזַרְעֲךָ֖zar.'a.KhaH2233also be numberedיִמָּנֶֽה׃yi.ma.NehH4487.

17Ariseק֚וּםkumH6965,walkהִתְהַלֵּ֣ךְhit.ha.LekhH1980through the landבָּאָ֔רֶץba.'A.retzH776in the lengthלְאָרְכָּ֖הּle.'a.re.KahH753of it and in the breadthוּלְרָחְבָּ֑הּu.le.ra.che.BahH7341of it; for I will giveאֶתְּנֶֽנָּה׃'et.te.Ne.nahH5414it unto thee.

18Then Abramאַבְרָ֗ם'av.RamH87removed histentוַיֶּאֱהַ֣לvai.ye.'e.HalH167,and cameוַיָּבֹ֛אvai.ya.Vo'H935and dweltוַיֵּ֛שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427in the plainבְּאֵלֹנֵ֥יbe.'e.lo.NeiH436of Mamreמַמְרֵ֖אmam.Re'H4471, which isin Hebronבְּחֶבְר֑וֹןbe.chev.RonH2275,and builtוַיִּֽבֶן־vai.yi.ven-H1129there an altarמִזְבֵּ֖חַmiz.Be.achH4196unto the Lordלַֽיהוָֽה׃ פla.Yah.wehH3068.
