12Then the two menהָאֲנָשִׁ֜יםha.'a.na.ShimH582saidוַיֹּאמְר֨וּvai.yo.me.RuH559toאֶל־'el-H413Lotל֗וֹטLotH3876, “Doמִֽי־mi-H4310you have anyoneelseעֹ֚ד'odH5750hereפֹ֔הFohH6311—a son-in-lawחָתָן֙cha.TanH2860,your sonsוּבָנֶ֣יךָu.va.Nei.khaH1121or daughtersוּבְנֹתֶ֔יךָu.ve.no.Tei.khaH1323,or anyoneוְכֹ֥לve.KholH3605else in the cityבָּעִ֑ירba.'IrH5892who belongsאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834to you?Get them outהוֹצֵ֖אho.Tze'H3318ofמִן־min-H4480hereהַמָּקֽוֹם׃ha.ma.KomH4725,

13becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588weאֲנַ֔חְנוּ'a.Nach.nuH587אֶת־'et-H853are about to destroyמַשְׁחִתִ֣יםmash.chi.TimH7843thisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088placeהַמָּק֖וֹםha.ma.KomH4725.Forכִּֽי־ki-H3588the outcryצַעֲקָתָם֙tza.'a.ka.TamH6818toאֶת־ פְּנֵ֣י'et- pe.NeiH854 H6440the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068against its peopleis so greatגָֽדְלָ֤הga.de.LahH1431thatיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068Hehas sent usוַיְשַׁלְּחֵ֥נוּvay.sha.le.Che.nuH7971to destroy itלְשַׁחֲתָֽהּ׃le.sha.cha.TahH7843.”

14So Lotל֜וֹטLotH3876went outוַיֵּצֵ֨אvai.ye.Tze'H3318and spokeוַיְדַבֵּ֣ר׀vay.da.BerH1696toאֶל־'el-H413the sons-in-lawחֲתָנָ֣יו׀cha.ta.NavH2860who were pledged in marriage toלֹקְחֵ֣יlo.ke.CheiH3947his daughtersבְנֹתָ֗יוve.no.TavH1323. “Get upק֤וּמוּKu.muH6965,”he saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559. “Get outצְּאוּ֙tze.'UH3318ofמִן־min-H4480thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088placeהַמָּק֣וֹםha.ma.KomH4725,forכִּֽי־ki-H3588the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068אֶת־'et-H853is about to destroyמַשְׁחִ֥יתmash.ChitH7843the cityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892!”But his sons-in-lawחֲתָנָֽיו׃cha.ta.NavH2860thoughtבְּעֵינֵ֥יbe.'ei.NeiH5869he wasוַיְהִ֥יvay.HiH1961jokingכִמְצַחֵ֖קkhim.tza.ChekH6711.

15Atוּכְמוֹ֙u.khe.MoH3644daybreakהַשַּׁ֣חַר עָלָ֔הha.Sha.char 'a.LahH7837 H5927the angelsהַמַּלְאָכִ֖יםha.mal.'a.KhimH4397hurriedוַיָּאִ֥יצוּvai.ya.'I.tzuH213Lot alongבְּל֣וֹטbe.LotH3876,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “Get upקוּם֩kumH6965!Takeקַ֨חkachH3947אֶֽת־'et-H853your wifeאִשְׁתְּךָ֜'ish.te.KhaH802וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and your twoשְׁתֵּ֤יshe.TeiH8147daughtersבְנֹתֶ֙יךָ֙ve.no.Tei.khaH1323who are hereהַנִּמְצָאֹ֔תha.nim.tza.'OtH4672,orפֶּן־pen-H6435you will be swept awayתִּסָּפֶ֖הti.sa.PehH5595in the punishmentבַּעֲוֹ֥ןba.'a.VonH5771of the cityהָעִֽיר׃ha.'IrH5892.”

16But when Lot hesitatedוַֽיִּתְמַהְמָ֓הּ׀vai.yit.mah.MahH4102,the menהָאֲנָשִׁ֜יםha.'a.na.ShimH582grabbedוַיַּחֲזִ֨קוּvai.ya.cha.Zi.kuH2388his handבְּיָד֣וֹbe.ya.DoH3027and the handsוּבְיַד־u.ve.yad-H3027of his wifeאִשְׁתּ֗וֹ'ish.ToH802andוּבְיַד֙u.ve.YadH3027his twoשְׁתֵּ֣יshe.TeiH8147daughtersבְנֹתָ֔יוve.no.TavH1323.And they led themוַיֹּצִאֻ֥הוּvai.yo.tzi.'U.huH3318safelyוַיַּנִּחֻ֖הוּvai.ya.ni.Chu.huH5117out ofמִח֥וּץmi.ChutzH2351the cityלָעִֽיר׃la.'IrH5892,because of the LORD’sיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068compassionבְּחֶמְלַ֥תbe.chem.LatH2551for themעָלָ֑יו'a.LavH5921.

17וַיְהִי֩vay.HiH1961As soon as the men had broughtכְהוֹצִיאָ֨םkhe.ho.tzi.'AmH3318themאֹתָ֜ם'o.TamH853outהַח֗וּצָהha.Chu.tzahH2351,one of them saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “Runהִמָּלֵ֣טhi.ma.LetH4422forעַל־'al-H5921your livesנַפְשֶׁ֔ךָnaf.She.khaH5315!Do notאַל־'al-H408lookתַּבִּ֣יטta.BitH5027backאַחֲרֶ֔יךָ'a.cha.Rei.khaH310,and do notוְאַֽל־ve.'al-H408stopתַּעֲמֹ֖דta.'a.ModH5975anywhereבְּכָל־be.kholH3605on the plainהַכִּכָּ֑רha.ki.KarH3603!Fleeהִמָּלֵ֖טhi.ma.LetH4422to the mountainsהָהָ֥רָהha.Ha.rahH2022,orפֶּן־pen-H6435you will be swept awayתִּסָּפֶֽה׃ti.sa.PehH5595!”

18But Lotל֖וֹטLotH3876repliedוַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֑םvai.Yo.mer 'a.le.HemH559 H413, “Noאַל־'al-H408,my lordsאֲדֹנָֽי׃'a.do.NaiH136,pleaseנָ֖אna'H4994!

19Your servantעַבְדְּךָ֣'av.de.KhaH5650has indeedהִנֵּה־ נָ֠אhi.neh- na'H2009 H4994foundמָצָ֨אma.Tza'H4672favorחֵן֮chenH2580in your sightבְּעֵינֶיךָ֒be.'ei.nei.KhaH5869,and you have shown meעָשִׂ֙יתָ֙ עִמָּדִ֔י'a.Si.ta 'i.ma.DiH6213 H5978greatוַתַּגְדֵּ֣לva.tag.DelH1431kindnessחַסְדְּךָ֗chas.de.KhaH2617אֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834by sparingלְהַחֲי֖וֹתle.ha.cha.YotH2421אֶת־'et-H853my lifeנַפְשִׁ֑יnaf.ShiH5315.But Iוְאָנֹכִ֗יve.'a.no.KhiH595cannotלֹ֤א אוּכַל֙lo' 'u.KhalH3808 H3201runלְהִמָּלֵ֣טle.hi.ma.LetH4422to the mountainsהָהָ֔רָה פֶּן־ha.Ha.rah pen-H2022 H6435;the disasterהָרָעָ֖הha.ra.'AhH7451will overtake meתִּדְבָּקַ֥נִיtid.ba.Ka.niH1692,and I will dieוָמַֽתִּי׃va.Ma.tiH4191.

20Lookהִנֵּה־hi.neh-H2009,thereהַזֹּ֧אתha.ZotH2063isa townהָעִ֨ירha.'IrH5892nearbyקְרֹבָ֛הke.ro.VahH7138whereשָׁ֖מָּהSha.mahH8033I can fleeלָנ֥וּסla.NusH5127,and itוְהִ֣יאve.Hi'H1931is a small placeמִצְעָ֑רmitz.'ArH4705.Pleaseנָ֠אna'H4994let me fleeאִמָּלְטָ֨ה נָּ֜א'i.mal.Tah na'H4422 H4994thereשָׁ֗מָּהSha.mahH8033—is itהִ֖ואhi'H1931notהֲלֹ֥אha.Lo'H3808a small placeמִצְעָ֛רmitz.'ArH4705?Then my lifeנַפְשִֽׁי׃naf.ShiH5315will be savedוּתְחִ֥יu.te.ChiH2421.”

21“Very wellהִנֵּה֙hi.NehH2009,”he answeredוַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֔יוvai.Yo.mer 'e.LavH559 H413, “I will grant this requestנָשָׂ֣אתִי פָנֶ֔יךָ לַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑הna.Sa.ti fa.Nei.kha la.da.Var ha.ZehH5375 H6440 H2088 H1697as wellגַּ֖םgamH1571,and will notלְבִלְתִּ֛יle.vil.TiH1115demolishהָפְכִּ֥יha.fe.KiH2015אֶת־'et-H853the townהָעִ֖ירha.'IrH5892אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you indicateדִּבַּֽרְתָּ׃di.Bar.taH1696.

22Hurryמַהֵר֙ma.HerH4116!Runהִמָּלֵ֣טhi.ma.LetH4422there quicklyשָׁ֔מָּהSha.mahH8033,forכִּ֣יkiH3588I cannotלֹ֤א אוּכַל֙lo' 'u.KhalH3808 H3201doלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213anythingדָּבָ֔רda.VarH1697untilעַד־'ad-H5704you reachבֹּאֲךָ֖bo.'a.KhaH935itשָׁ֑מָּהSha.mahH8033.”That is whyעַל־ כֵּ֛ן'al- kenH5921 H3651the townהָעִ֖ירha.'IrH5892was calledקָרָ֥א שֵׁם־ka.Ra' shem-H7121 H8034Zoarצֽוֹעַר׃Tzo.'arH6820.

23And by the time the sunהַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁha.She.meshH8121had risenיָצָ֣אya.Tza'H3318overעַל־'al-H5921the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776,Lotוְל֖וֹטve.LotH3876had reachedבָּ֥אba'H935Zoarצֹֽעֲרָה׃Tzo.'a.rahH6820.
