11But Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָ֗טye.ho.sha.FatH3092askedוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Is there noהַאֵ֨יןha.'EinH369prophetנָבִיא֙na.Vi'H5030of the LORDלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068hereפֹּ֤הpohH6311?Let us inquireוְנִדְרְשָׁ֥הve.nid.re.ShahH1875אֶת־'et-H853of the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068through himמֵאוֹת֑וֹme.'o.ToH853.”And oneאֶחָ֞ד'e.ChadH259of the servantsמֵעַבְדֵ֤יme.'av.DeiH5650of the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וַיֹּ֔אמֶרYis.ra.'El vai.Yo.merH3478 H559answeredוַ֠יַּעַןVai.ya.'anH6030, “Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֣ע'e.li.Sha'H477sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Shaphatשָׁפָ֔טsha.FatH8202is hereפֹּ֚הpohH6311. Heאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834used to pourיָ֥צַקYa.tzakH3332waterמַ֖יִםMa.yimH4325onעַל־'al-H5921the handsיְדֵ֥יye.DeiH3027of Elijahאֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃'e.li.Ya.huH452.”

12Jehoshaphatיְה֣וֹשָׁפָ֔טye.Ho.o.sha.FatH3092affirmedוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “The wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068isיֵ֥שׁyeshH3426with himאוֹת֖וֹ'o.ToH853.”So the kingמֶ֧לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478and Jehoshaphatוִיהוֹשָׁפָ֖טvi.ho.sha.FatH3092and the kingוּמֶ֥לֶךְu.Me.lekhH4428of Edomאֱדֽוֹם׃'e.DomH123went downוַיֵּרְד֣וּvai.ye.re.DuH3381to himאֵלָ֗יו'e.LavH413.

13Elisha, howeverאֱלִישָׁ֜ע'e.li.Sha'H477,saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413the kingמֶ֤לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478, “What have we to doמַה־mah-H4100with each other?Goלֵ֚ךְlekhH1980toאֶל־'el-H413the prophetsנְבִיאֵ֣יne.vi.'EiH5030of your fatherאָבִ֔יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1andוְאֶל־ נְבִיאֵ֖יve.'el- ne.vi.'EiH413 H5030of your motherאִמֶּ֑ךָ'i.Me.khaH517!” “Noאַ֗ל'AlH408,”repliedוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478, “forכִּֽי־ki-H3588it is the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068who has summonedקָרָ֤אka.Ra'H7121theseהָאֵ֔לֶּהha.'E.lehH428threeלִשְׁלֹ֙שֶׁת֙lish.Lo.shetH7969kingsהַמְּלָכִ֣יםha.me.la.KhimH4428to deliverלָתֵ֥תla.TetH5414themאוֹתָ֖ם'o.TamH853into the handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of Moabמוֹאָֽב׃mo.'AvH4124.”

14Then Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֗ע'e.li.Sha'H477saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “As surely as the LORDיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָאוֹת֙tze.va.'OtH6635livesחַי־chai-H2416,beforeלְפָנָ֔יוle.fa.NavH6440whomאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834I standעָמַ֣דְתִּי'a.Mad.tiH5975כִּ֗יKiH3588,were it notלוּלֵ֛יlu.LeiH3884for my regardאֲנִ֣י נֹשֵׂ֑א'a.Ni no.Se'H589 H5375for the presenceפְּנֵ֛יpe.NeiH6440of Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָ֥טye.ho.sha.FatH3092kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063,I would notאִם־'im-H518lookאַבִּ֥יט'a.BitH5027at youאֵלֶ֖יךָ'e.Lei.khaH413orוְאִם־ve.'im-H518acknowledge youאֶרְאֶֽךָּ׃'er.'E.kaH7200.

15But nowוְעַתָּ֖הve.'a.TahH6258,bringקְחוּ־ke.chu-H3947mea harpistמְנַגֵּ֑ןme.na.GenH5059.”And whileוְהָיָה֙ve.ha.YahH1961the harpistכְּנַגֵּ֣ןke.na.GenH5059playedהַֽמְנַגֵּ֔ןham.na.GenH5059,the handיַד־yad-H3027of the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068cameוַתְּהִ֥יva.te.HiH1961upon Elishaעָלָ֖יו'a.LavH5921

16and he saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “This is whatכֹּ֖הkohH3541the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: ‘Digעָשֹׂ֛ה'a.SohH6213thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088valleyהַנַּ֥חַלha.Na.chalH5158full of ditchesH1356.’

17Forכִּֽי־ כֹ֣ה׀ki- khohH3588 H3541the LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559, ‘You will notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808seeתִרְא֥וּtir.'UH7200windר֙וּחַ֙ וְלֹֽא־ תִרְא֣וּRu.ach ve.lo'- tir.'UH7307 H3808 H7200or rainגֶ֔שֶׁםGe.shemH1653,but theהַה֖וּאha.Hu'H1931valleyוְהַנַּ֥חַלve.ha.Na.chalH5158will be filledיִמָּ֣לֵאyi.Ma.le'H4390with waterמָ֑יִםMa.yimH4325,and you will drinkוּשְׁתִיתֶ֛םu.she.ti.TemH8354—youאַתֶּ֥ם'a.TemH859and your cattleוּמִקְנֵיכֶ֖םu.mik.nei.KhemH4735and your animalsוּֽבְהֶמְתְּכֶֽם׃U.ve.hem.te.KhemH929.’

18Thisזֹ֖אתzotH2063is a simple matterוְנָקַ֥לve.na.KalH7043in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,and He will also deliverוְנָתַ֥ןve.na.TanH5414the Moabitesמוֹאָ֖בmo.'AvH4124אֶת־'et-H853into your handבְּיֶדְכֶֽם׃be.yed.KhemH3027.

19And you shall attackוְהִכִּיתֶ֞םve.hi.ki.TemH5221everyכָּל־kol-H3605fortifiedמִבְצָר֙miv.TzarH4013cityעִ֤יר'irH5892and everyוְכָל־ve.kholH3605cityעִ֣יר'irH5892of importanceמִבְח֔וֹרmiv.ChorH4004.You shall cut downתַּפִּ֔ילוּta.Pi.luH5307everyוְכָל־ve.kholH3605goodטוֹב֙tOvH2896treeעֵ֥ץ'etzH6086,stop upתִּסְתֹּ֑מוּtis.To.muH5640everyוְכָל־ve.kholH3605springמַעְיְנֵי־ מַ֖יִםma'.ye.nei- Ma.yimH4599 H4325,and ruinתַּכְאִ֖בוּtakh.'I.vuH3510everyוְכֹל֙ve.KholH3605goodהַטּוֹבָ֔הha.to.VahH2896fieldהַחֶלְקָ֣הha.chel.KahH2513with stonesבָּאֲבָנִֽים׃ba.'a.va.NimH68.”

20The next morningוַיְהִ֤י בַבֹּ֙קֶר֙vay.Hi va.Bo.kerH1242 H1961,at the time of the morning sacrificeכַּעֲל֣וֹת הַמִּנְחָ֔הka.'a.Lot ha.min.ChahH5927 H4503,waterמַ֥יִםMa.yimH4325suddenlyוְהִנֵּה־ve.hi.neh-H2009flowedבָּאִ֖יםba.'ImH935from the directionמִדֶּ֣רֶךְmi.De.rekhH1870of Edomאֱד֑וֹם'e.DomH123and filledוַתִּמָּלֵ֥אva.ti.ma.Le'H4390the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776אֶת־'et-H853הַמָּֽיִם׃ha.Ma.yimH4325.
