2And he didוַיַּ֥עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213evilהָרַ֖עha.Ra'H7451in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068and followedוַ֠יֵּלֶךְ אַחַ֨רVai.ye.lekh 'a.CharH1980H310the sinsחַטֹּ֜אתcha.TotH2403thatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֧םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Nebatנְבָ֛טne.VatH5028had caused Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478to commitהֶחֱטִ֥יאhe.che.Ti'H2398אֶת־'et-H853;he did notלֹא־lo'-H3808turn awayסָ֥רsarH5493from themמִמֶּֽנָּה׃mi.Me.nahH4480.
3So the angerאַ֥ף'afH639of the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068burnedוַיִּֽחַר־vai.yi.char-H2734against Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לbe.Yis.ra.'ElH3478,and He delivered themוַֽיִּתְּנֵ֞םvai.yi.te.NemH5414continuallyכָּל־ הַיָּמִֽים׃kol- hai.ya.MimH3605H3117into the handsבְּיַ֣ד׀be.YadH3027of Hazaelחֲזָאֵ֣לcha.za.'ElH2371kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Aramאֲרָ֗ם וּבְיַ֛ד'a.Ram u.ve.YadH758H3027בֶּן־ben-H1130and hisחֲזָאֵ֖לcha.za.'ElH2371sonבֶּן־ben-H1121Ben-hadadהֲדַ֥דha.DadH1130.
4Then Jehoahazיְהוֹאָחָ֖זye.ho.'a.ChazH3059אֶת־'et-H853soughtוַיְחַ֥לvay.ChalH2470the favorפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440of the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,and the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068listenedוַיִּשְׁמַ֤עvai.yish.Ma'H8085to himאֵלָיו֙'e.LavH413becauseכִּ֤יkiH3588He sawרָאָה֙ra.'AhH7200אֶת־'et-H853the oppressionלַ֣חַץLa.chatzH3906that the kingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Aramאֲרָֽם׃'a.RamH758had inflictedלָחַ֥ץla.ChatzH3905אֹתָ֖ם'o.TamH853on Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כִּֽי־Yis.ra.'El ki-H3478H3588.
5So the LORDיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068gaveוַיִּתֵּ֨ןvai.yi.TenH5414Israelלְיִשְׂרָאֵל֙le.Yis.ra.'ElH3478a delivererמוֹשִׁ֔יעַmo.Shi.a'H3467,and they escapedוַיֵּ֣צְא֔וּ מִתַּ֖חַתvai.Ye.tze.'U mi.Ta.chatH3318H8478the powerיַד־yad-H3027of the Arameansאֲרָ֑ם'a.RamH758.Then the peopleבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478livedוַיֵּשְׁב֧וּvai.ye.she.VuH3427in their own homesבְּאָהֳלֵיהֶ֖םbe.'o.ho.lei.HemH168as they had beforeכִּתְמ֥וֹל שִׁלְשֽׁוֹם׃kit.Mol shil.ShomH8543H8032.
6Neverthelessאַ֠ךְ'akhH389,they did notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808turn awayסָ֜רוּSa.ruH5493from the sinsמֵחַטֹּ֧אותme.cha.TotH2403thatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֛םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379had caused Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478to commitהֶחֱטִ֥יאhe.che.ti'H2398אֶת־'et-H853, butthey continued to walk in themהָלָ֑ךְha.LakhH1980.The Asherahהָאֲשֵׁרָ֔הha.'a.she.RahH842poleevenוְגַם֙ve.GamH1571remained standingעָמְדָ֖ה'a.me.DahH5975in Samariaבְּשֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃be.sho.me.RonH8111.
7Jehoahazלִיהוֹאָחָ֜זli.ho.'a.ChazH3059had noלֹא֩lo'H3808armyעָ֗ם'AmH5971leftהִשְׁאִ֨ירhish.'IrH7604כִּ֣יkiH3588,exceptכִּ֣י אִם־ki 'im-H3588H518fiftyחֲמִשִּׁ֤יםcha.mi.ShimH2572horsemenפָּֽרָשִׁים֙pa.ra.ShimH6571,tenוַעֲשָׂ֣רָהva.'a.Sa.rahH6235chariotsרֶ֔כֶבRe.khevH7393,and tenוַעֲשֶׂ֥רֶתva.'a.Se.retH6235thousandאֲלָפִ֖ים'a.la.FimH505foot soldiersרַגְלִ֑יrag.LiH7273,becauseכִּ֤יkiH3588the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Aramאֲרָ֔ם'a.RamH758had destroyed themאִבְּדָם֙'i.be.DamH6and made themוַיְשִׂמֵ֥םvay.si.MemH7760like the dustכֶּֽעָפָ֖רke.'a.FarH6083at threshingלָדֻֽשׁ׃la.DushH1758.

Elisha’s Final Prophecy
14When Elishaוֶֽאֱלִישָׁע֙ve.'e.li.Sha'H477had fallen sickחָלָ֣הcha.LahH2470אֶת־'et-H853with the illnessחָלְי֔וֹchal.YoH2483from whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834he would dieיָמ֖וּתya.MutH4191,Jehoashיוֹאָ֣שׁyo.'AshH3101kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478came downוַיֵּ֨רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381to himאֵלָ֜יו'e.LavH413and weptוַיֵּ֤בְךְּvai.Ye.vekH1058overעַל־'al-H5921himפָּנָיו֙pa.NavH6440,sayingוַיֹּאמַ֔רvai.yo.MarH559, “My fatherאָבִ֣י׀'a.ViH1,my fatherאָבִ֔י'a.ViH1,the chariotsרֶ֥כֶבRe.khevH7393and horsemenוּפָרָשָֽׁיו׃u.fa.ra.ShavH6571of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478!”
16Then Elisha saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶר׀vai.Yo.merH559to the kingלְמֶ֣לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478, “Putהַרְכֵּ֤בhar.KevH7392your handיָֽדְךָ֙ya.de.KhaH3027onעַל־'al-H5921the bowהַקֶּ֔שֶׁתha.Ke.shetH7198.”So the king putוַיַּרְכֵּ֖בvai.yar.KevH7392his hand onיָד֑וֹya.DoH3027the bow,and Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֛ע'e.li.Sha'H477putוַיָּ֧שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760his handsיָדָ֖יוya.DavH3027onעַל־'al-H5921the king’sהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428handsיְדֵ֥יye.DeiH3027.
17“Openפְּתַ֧חpe.TachH6605the eastקֵ֖דְמָהKe.de.mahH6924windowהַחַלּ֛וֹןha.cha.LonH2474,”said Elishaוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559.So he openedוַיִּפְתָּ֑חvai.yif.TachH6605itand Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֤ע'e.li.Sha'H477saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Shootיְרֵה֙ye.RehH3384!”So he shotוַיּ֔וֹרvai.YorH3384.And Elisha declaredוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559: “This is the LORD’sלַֽיהוָה֙la.Yah.wehH3068arrowחֵץ־chetz-H2671of victoryתְּשׁוּעָ֤הte.shu.'AhH8668,the arrowוְחֵ֣ץve.ChetzH2671of victoryתְּשׁוּעָ֣הte.shu.'AhH8668over Aramבַֽאֲרָ֔םva.'a.RamH758,for you shall strikeוְהִכִּיתָ֧ve.hi.ki.TaH5221אֶת־'et-H853the Arameansאֲרָ֛ם'a.RamH758in Aphekבַּאֲפֵ֖קba.'a.FekH663untilעַד־'ad-H5704you have put an end to themכַּלֵּֽה׃ka.LehH3615.”
18Then Elisha saidוַיֹּ֛אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Takeקַ֥חkachH3947the arrowsהַחִצִּ֖יםha.chi.TzimH2671!”So he tookוַיִּקָּ֑חvai.yi.KachH3947them,and Elisha saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the kingלְמֶֽלֶךְ־le.Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478, “Strikeהַךְ־hakh-H5221the groundאַ֔רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776!”So he struckוַיַּ֥ךְvai.YakhH5221the ground threeשָֽׁלֹשׁ־sha.losh-H7969timesפְּעָמִ֖יםpe.'a.MimH6471and stoppedוַֽיַּעֲמֹֽד׃Vai.ya.'a.ModH5975.
19But the manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֗יםha.'E.lo.HimH430was angryוַיִּקְצֹ֨ףvai.yik.TzofH7107with himעָלָ֜יו'a.LavH5921and saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “You should have struckלְהַכּ֨וֹתle.ha.KotH5221the ground fiveחָמֵ֤שׁcha.MeshH2568orאוֹ־'ov-H176sixשֵׁשׁ֙sheshH8337timesפְּעָמִ֔יםpe.'a.MimH6471.Thenאָ֛ז'azH227you would have struck downהִכִּ֥יתָhi.Ki.taH5221אֶת־'et-H853Aramאֲרָ֖ם'a.RamH758untilעַד־'ad-H5704you had put an end to itכַּלֵּ֑הka.LehH3615.But nowוְעַתָּ֕הve.'a.TahH6258you will strike downתַּכֶּ֥הta.KehH5221אֶת־'et-H853Aramאֲרָֽם׃ ס'a.RamH758onlythreeשָׁלֹ֥שׁsha.LoshH7969timesפְּעָמִ֖יםpe.'a.MimH6471.”
21Onceוַיְהִ֞יvay.HiH1961,as the Israelitesהֵ֣ם׀hemH1992were buryingקֹבְרִ֣יםkoe.RimH6912a manאִ֗ישׁ'IshH376,suddenlyוְהִנֵּה֙ve.hi.NehH2009they sawרָא֣וּra.'UH7200אֶֽת־'et-H853a bandהַגְּד֔וּדha.ge.DudH1416of raiders,so they threwוַיַּשְׁלִ֥יכוּvai.yash.Li.khuH7993אֶת־'et-H853the man’s bodyהָאִ֖ישׁha.'IshH376into Elisha’sאֱלִישָׁ֑ע וַיֵּ֜לֶךְ'e.li.Sha' vai.Ye.lekhH477H1980tombבְּקֶ֣בֶרbe.Ke.verH6913.And as soon as his body touchedוַיִּגַּ֤עvai.yi.Ga'H5060the bonesבְּעַצְמ֣וֹתbe.'atz.MotH6106of Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֔ע'e.li.Sha'H477,the manהָאִישׁ֙ha.'IshH376was revivedוַיְחִ֖יvay.ChiH2421and stoodוַיָּ֥קָםvai.Ya.komH6965up onעַל־'al-H5921his feetרַגְלָֽיו׃ פrag.LavH7272.
23But the LORDיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068was graciousוַיָּחָן֩vai.ya.ChanH2603toאֹתָ֤ם'o.TamH854Israeland had compassion on themוַֽיְרַחֲמֵם֙vay.ra.cha.MemH7355,and He turnedוַיִּ֣פֶןvai.Yi.fenH6437toward themאֲלֵיהֶ֔ם'a.lei.HemH413because ofלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616His covenantבְּרִית֔וֹbe.ri.ToH1285withאֶת־'et-H854Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֖ם'av.ra.HamH85,Isaacיִצְחָ֣קyitz.ChakH3327,and Jacobוְיַֽעֲקֹ֑בve.ya.'a.KoH3290.And toעַד־'ad-H5704this dayעָֽתָּה׃'A.tahH6258, the LORDhas been unwillingוְלֹ֤א אָבָה֙ve.Lo' 'a.VahH3808H14to destroy themהַשְׁחִיתָ֔םhash.chi.TamH7843orוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808cast themהִשְׁלִיכָ֥םhish.li.KhamH7993fromמֵֽעַל־me.'al-H5921His presenceפָּנָ֖יוpa.NavH6440.
