11But Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָ֗טye.ho.sha.FatH3092saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “IsH369thereH369noH369prophetנָבִיא֙na.Vi'H5030of the Lordלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068hereפֹּ֤הpohH6311,that we may inquireוְנִדְרְשָׁ֥הve.nid.re.ShahH1875of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068by him?” And oneאֶחָ֞ד'e.ChadH259of the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israel’sיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478servantsמֵעַבְדֵ֤יme.'av.DeiH5650answeredוַ֠יַּעַןVai.ya.'anH6030and saidוַיֹּ֔אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֣ע'e.li.Sha'H477the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Shaphatשָׁפָ֔טsha.FatH8202is hereפֹּ֚הpohH6311,whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834used to pourיָ֥צַקYa.tzakH3332waterמַ֖יִםMa.yimH4325on the handsיְדֵ֥יye.DeiH3027of Elijahאֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃'e.li.Ya.huH452.”

12And Jehoshaphatיְה֣וֹשָׁפָ֔טye.Ho.o.sha.FatH3092saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “The wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068is with him.” So the kingמֶ֧לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478and Jehoshaphatוִיהוֹשָׁפָ֖טvi.ho.sha.FatH3092and the kingוּמֶ֥לֶךְu.Me.lekhH4428of EdomH112wentH3381downוַיֵּרְד֣וּvai.ye.re.DuH3381to him.

13Now Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֜ע'e.li.Sha'H477saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the kingמֶ֤לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478, “Whatמַה־mah-H4100business do you have with me?Goלֵ֚ךְlekhH1980to your father’sאָבִ֔יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1prophetsנְבִיאֵ֣יne.vi.'EiH5030and your mother’sאִמֶּ֑ךָ'i.Me.khaH517prophetsנְבִיאֵ֖יne.vi.'EiH5030.”But the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Noאַ֗ל'AlH408,for the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068has calledקָרָ֤אka.Ra'H7121theseהָאֵ֔לֶּהha.'E.lehH428threeלִשְׁלֹ֙שֶׁת֙lish.Lo.shetH7969kingsהַמְּלָכִ֣יםha.me.la.KhimH4428togetherto handבְּיַד־be.yad-H5414 H3027them overH5414to Moabמוֹאָֽב׃mo.'AvH4124.”

14Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֗ע'e.li.Sha'H477saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “As surely asthe Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068of armiesצְבָאוֹת֙tze.va.'OtH6635livesחַי־chai-H2416,beforeלְפָנָ֔יוle.fa.NavH6440whomאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834I standעָמַ֣דְתִּי'a.Mad.tiH5975,if I did not respectפְּנֵ֛י נֹשֵׂ֑אpe.Nei no.Se'H5375 H6440Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָ֥טye.ho.sha.FatH3092the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063,I would not lookאַבִּ֥יט'a.BitH5027at you norH518seeאֶרְאֶֽךָּ׃'er.'E.kaH7200you.

15But nowוְעַתָּ֖הve.'a.TahH6258bringקְחוּ־ke.chu-H3947me amusicianמְנַגֵּ֑ןme.na.GenH5059.”And it cameH1961aboutH1961, when themusicianכְּנַגֵּ֣ןke.na.GenH5059playedהַֽמְנַגֵּ֔ןham.na.GenH5059, thatthe handיַד־yad-H3027of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068cameH1961upon him.

16And he saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: ‘Makeעָשֹׂ֛ה'a.SohH6213thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088valleyהַנַּ֥חַלha.Na.chalH5158fullגֵּבִ֥ים׀ge.VimH1356of trenchesגֵּבִֽים׃ge.VimH1356.’

17For the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559thisכֹ֣ה׀khohH3541: ‘You will not seeתִרְא֥וּtir.'UH7200windר֙וּחַ֙Ru.achH7307,norH3808will you seeתִרְא֣וּtir.'UH7200rainגֶ֔שֶׁםGe.shemH1653;yet that valleyוְהַנַּ֥חַלve.ha.Na.chalH5158shall be filledיִמָּ֣לֵאyi.Ma.le'H4390with waterמָ֑יִםMa.yimH4325,so that you will drinkוּשְׁתִיתֶ֛םu.she.ti.TemH8354,you, your livestockוּמִקְנֵיכֶ֖םu.mik.nei.KhemH4735, and your otheranimalsוּֽבְהֶמְתְּכֶֽם׃U.ve.hem.te.KhemH929.

18And thisH2088isH7043anH7043insignificantH7043thingH7043in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068;He will also giveוְנָתַ֥ןve.na.TanH5414the Moabitesמוֹאָ֖בmo.'AvH4124into your handבְּיֶדְכֶֽם׃be.yed.KhemH3027.

19Then you shall strikeוְהִכִּיתֶ֞םve.hi.ki.TemH5221everyכָּל־kol-H3605fortifiedמִבְצָר֙miv.TzarH4013cityעִ֤יר'irH5892and everyוְכָל־ve.kholH3605choiceמִבְח֔וֹרmiv.ChorH4004cityעִ֣יר'irH5892, andcutH5307downH5307everyוְכָל־ve.kholH3605goodטוֹב֙tOvH2896treeעֵ֥ץ'etzH6086and stopתִּסְתֹּ֑מוּtis.To.muH5640upH5640allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the springsמַעְיְנֵי־ma'.ye.nei-H4599of waterמַ֖יִםMa.yimH4325,and spoilתַּכְאִ֖בוּtakh.'I.vuH3510everyוְכֹל֙ve.KholH3605goodהַטּוֹבָ֔הha.to.VahH2896plotH2513ofH2513landהַחֶלְקָ֣הha.chel.KahH2513with stonesבָּאֲבָנִֽים׃ba.'a.va.NimH68.’”

20And it happenedוַיְהִ֤יvay.HiH1961in the morningבַבֹּ֙קֶר֙va.Bo.kerH1242about the time ofofferingכַּעֲל֣וֹתka.'a.LotH5927the sacrificeהַמִּנְחָ֔הha.min.ChahH4503,that beholdוְהִנֵּה־ve.hi.neh-H2009,waterמַ֥יִםMa.yimH4325cameבָּאִ֖יםba.'ImH935from the directionמִדֶּ֣רֶךְmi.De.rekhH1870of EdomH112,and the countryהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776was filledוַתִּמָּלֵ֥אva.ti.ma.Le'H4390with waterהַמָּֽיִם׃ha.Ma.yimH4325.
