2Now Ahaziahאֲחַזְיָ֜ה'a.chaz.YahH274had fallenוַיִּפֹּ֨לvai.yi.PolH5307throughבְּעַ֣דbe.'AdH1157the latticeהַשְּׂבָכָ֗הha.se.va.KhahH7639of his upper roomבַּעֲלִיָּת֛וֹba.'a.li.ya.ToH5944אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834in Samariaבְּשֹׁמְר֖וֹןbe.sho.me.RonH8111and injured himselfוַיָּ֑חַלvai.Ya.chalH2470.So he sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֣חvai.yish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֔יםmal.'a.KhimH4397and instructed themוַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲלֵהֶם֙vai.Yo.mer 'a.le.HemH559 H413: “Goלְכ֣וּle.KhuH1980inquireדִרְשׁ֗וּdir.ShuH1875of Baal-zebubH1176,the godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Ekronעֶקְר֔וֹןek.RonH6138,whetherאִם־'im-H518I will recoverאֶחְיֶ֖ה'ech.YehH2421from thisזֶֽה׃ סZehH2088injuryמֵחֳלִ֥יme.cho.LiH2483.”

3But the angelוּמַלְאַ֣ךְu.mal.'AkhH4397of the LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068saidדִּבֶּר֙di.BerH1696toאֶל־'el-H413Elijahאֵלִיָּ֣ה'e.li.YahH452the Tishbiteהַתִּשְׁבִּ֔י ק֣וּםha.tish.Bi kumH8664 H6965, “Go upעֲלֵ֔ה'a.LehH5927to meetלִקְרַ֖אתlik.RatH7122the messengersמַלְאֲכֵ֣יmal.'a.KheiH4397of the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Samariaשֹׁמְר֑וֹןsho.me.RonH8111and ask themוְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵהֶ֔םve.da.Ber 'a.le.HemH1696 H413, ‘Is itbecauseהַֽמִבְּלִ֤יha.mi.be.LiH1097there isnoאֵין־'ein-H369Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430in Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לbe.Yis.ra.'ElH3478that youאַתֶּם֙'a.TemH859are on your wayהֹֽלְכִ֔יםho.le.KhimH1980to inquireלִדְרֹ֕שׁlid.RoshH1875of Baal-zebubH1176,the godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of Ekronעֶקְרֽוֹן׃ek.RonH6138?’

4Thereforeוְלָכֵן֙ve.la.KhenH3651this is whatכֹּֽה־koh-H3541the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: ‘You will notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808get upתֵרֵ֥דte.RedH3381fromמִמֶּ֖נָּה כִּ֣יmi.Me.nah kiH4480 H3588the bedהַמִּטָּ֞הha.mi.TahH4296on whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834you are lyingעָלִ֥יתָ שָּׁ֛ם'a.Li.ta shamH5927 H8033.You will surely dieH4191.’”So Elijahאֵלִיָּֽה׃'e.li.YahH452departedוַיֵּ֖לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980.

5When the messengersהַמַּלְאָכִ֖יםha.mal.'a.KhimH4397returnedוַיָּשׁ֥וּבוּvai.ya.Shu.vuH7725to the kingאֵלָ֑יו'e.LavH413,he asked themוַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֖םvai.Yo.mer 'a.lei.HemH559 H413, “Whyמַה־ זֶּ֥הmah- zehH4100 H2088have you returnedשַׁבְתֶּֽם׃shav.TemH7725?”

6They repliedוַיֹּאמְר֨וּvai.yo.me.RuH559אֵלָ֜יו'e.LavH413, “A manאִ֣ישׁ׀'ishH376came upעָלָ֣ה'a.LahH5927to meet usלִקְרָאתֵ֗נוּlik.ra.Te.nuH7122and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559אֵלֵינוּ֮'e.lei.NuH413, ‘Goלְכ֣וּle.KhuH1980backשׁוּבוּ֮shu.VuH7725toאֶל־'el-H413the kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834sentשָׁלַ֣חsha.LachH7971youאֶתְכֶם֒'et.KhemH853and tellוְדִבַּרְתֶּ֣םve.di.bar.TemH1696himאֵלָ֗יו'e.LavH413that this is whatכֹּ֚הkohH3541the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559:Is it becauseהַֽמִבְּלִ֤יha.mi.be.LiH1097there is noאֵין־'ein-H369Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430in Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לbe.Yis.ra.'ElH3478that you areאַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH859sendingשֹׁלֵ֔חַsho.Le.achH7971these men to inquireלִדְרֹ֕שׁlid.RoshH1875of Baal-zebubH1176,the godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Ekronעֶקְר֑וֹןek.RonH6138?Thereforeלָ֠כֵןLa.khenH3651you will notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808get upתֵרֵ֥דte.RedH3381from the bedהַמִּטָּ֞הha.mi.TahH4296on whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834you are lyingעָלִ֥יתָ שָּׁ֛ם'a.Li.ta shamH5927 H8033מִמֶּ֖נָּהmi.Me.nahH4480כִּֽי־ki-H3588.You will surely dieH4191.’”

7The king asked themוַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵהֶ֔םvay.da.Ber 'a.le.HemH1696 H413, “Whatמֶ֚הmehH4100sortמִשְׁפַּ֣טmish.PatH4941of manהָאִ֔ישׁha.'IshH376אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834came upעָלָ֖ה'a.LahH5927to meetלִקְרַאתְכֶ֑םlik.rat.KhemH7122you and spokeוַיְדַבֵּ֣רvay.da.BerH1696theseהָאֵֽלֶּה׃ha.'E.lehH428wordsהַדְּבָרִ֖יםha.de.va.RimH1697to youאֲלֵיכֶ֔ם'a.lei.KhemH413אֶת־'et-H853?”

8“He wasa hairyשֵׂעָ֔רse.'ArH8181manאִ֚ישׁ בַּ֣עַל'ish Ba.'alH376 H1167,”they answeredוַיֹּאמְר֣וּ אֵלָ֗יוvai.yo.me.Ru 'e.LavH559 H413, “with a leatherע֖וֹר אָז֣וּרor 'a.ZurH5785 H247beltוְאֵז֥וֹרve.'e.ZorH232around his waistבְּמָתְנָ֑יוbe.ma.te.NavH4975.” “Itהֽוּא׃Hu'H1931wasElijahאֵלִיָּ֥ה'e.li.YahH452the Tishbiteהַתִּשְׁבִּ֖יha.tish.BiH8664,”saidוַיֹּאמַ֕רvai.yo.MarH559the king.
