9(Formerlyלְפָנִ֣ים׀le.fa.NimH6440in Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל כֹּֽה־be.Yis.ra.'El koh-H3478H3541,a manהָאִישׁ֙ha.'IshH376on his wayבְּלֶכְתּוֹ֙be.lekh.ToH1980to inquireלִדְר֣וֹשׁlid.Ro.oshH1875of Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430would sayאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559, “Comeלְכ֥וּle.KhuH1980,let us goוְנֵלְכָ֖הve.ne.le.KhahH1980toעַד־'ad-H5704the seerהָרֹאֶ֑הha.ro.'EhH7203.”Forכִּ֤יkiH3588the prophetלַנָּבִיא֙la.na.Vi'H5030of todayהַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117was formerlyלְפָנִ֖יםle.fa.NimH6440calledיִקָּרֵ֥אyi.ka.Re'H7121the seerהָרֹאֶֽה׃ha.ro.'EhH7203.)
10“Goodט֥וֹב דְּבָרְךָ֖Tov de.va.re.KhaH2896H1697,”saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559Saulשָׁא֧וּלsha.'UlH7586to his servantלְנַעֲר֛וֹle.na.'a.RoH5288. “Comeלְכָ֣ה׀le.KhahH1980,let us goנֵלֵ֑כָהne.Le.khahH1980.”So they set outוַיֵּֽלְכוּ֙vai.ye.le.KhuH1980forאֶל־'el-H413the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834whereשָׁ֖םshamH8033the manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376of God wasהָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ha.'E.lo.HimH430.
11And as theyהֵ֗מָּהHe.mahH1992were climbingעֹלִים֙'o.LimH5927the hillבְּמַעֲלֵ֣הbe.ma.'a.LehH4608to the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892,theyוְהֵ֙מָּה֙ve.He.mahH1992metמָצְא֣וּma.tze.'UH4672some young womenנְעָר֔וֹתne.'a.RotH5291coming outיֹצְא֖וֹתyo.tze.'otH3318to drawלִשְׁאֹ֣בlish.'OH7579waterמָ֑יִםMa.yimH4325and askedוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, “Isהֲיֵ֥שׁha.YeshH3426the seer hereבָּזֶ֖ה הָרֹאֶֽה׃ba.Zeh ha.ro.'EhH7203H2088?”
12“Yesהִנֵּ֣הhi.NehH2009,he isיֵּ֖שׁyeshH3426ahead of youלְפָנֶ֑יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440,”they answeredוַתַּעֲנֶ֧ינָהva.ta.'a.Nei.nahH6030אוֹתָ֛ם'o.TamH853וַתֹּאמַ֥רְנָהva.to.Mar.nahH559. “Hurryמַהֵ֣ר׀ma.HerH4116nowעַתָּ֗ה'a.TahH6258,forכִּ֤יkiH3588todayהַיּוֹם֙hai.yOmH3117he has comeבָּ֣אba'H935to the cityלָעִ֔ירla.'IrH5892becauseכִּ֣יkiH3588the people haveלָעָ֖םla.'AmH5971a sacrificeזֶ֧בַחZe.vachH2077on the high placeבַּבָּמָֽה׃ba.ba.MahH1116הַיּ֛וֹםhai.YomH3117.
13As soon as you enterכְּבֹאֲכֶ֣םke.vo.'a.KhemH935the cityהָעִ֣ירha.'IrH5892,you will findכֵּ֣ן תִּמְצְא֣וּןken tim.tze.'UnH3651H4672himאֹת֡וֹ'o.ToH853beforeבְּטֶרֶם֩be.te.RemH2962he goes upיַעֲלֶ֨הya.'a.LehH5927to the high placeהַבָּמָ֜תָהha.ba.Ma.tahH1116to eatלֶאֱכֹ֗לle.'e.KholH398כִּ֠יkiH3588.The peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971will notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808eatיֹאכַ֤לyo.KhalH398untilעַד־'ad-H5704he comesבֹּא֔וֹbo.'OH935,becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588heהוּא֙hu'H1931must blessיְבָרֵ֣ךְye.va.RekhH1288the sacrificeהַזֶּ֔בַחha.Ze.vachH2077;after thatאַחֲרֵי־ כֵ֖ן'a.cha.rei- khenH310H3651,the guestsהַקְּרֻאִ֑ים וְעַתָּ֣הha.ke.ru.'Im ve.'a.TahH7121H6258will eatיֹאכְל֣וּyo.khe.LuH398.Go upעֲל֔וּ כִּֽי־'a.Lu ki-H5927H3588אֹת֥וֹ'o.ToH853at onceכְהַיּ֖וֹםkhe.hai.YomH3117;you will findתִּמְצְא֥וּןtim.tze.'UnH4672himאֹתֽוֹ׃'o.ToH853.”
14So Saul and his servant went upוַֽיַּעֲל֖וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927toward the cityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892,and as theyהֵ֗מָּהHe.mahH1992were enteringבָּאִים֙ בְּת֣וֹךְba.'Im be.TokhH935H8432itהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892,there wasוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009Samuelשְׁמוּאֵל֙she.mu.'ElH8050comingיֹצֵ֣אyo.Tze'H3318toward themלִקְרָאתָ֔םlik.ra.TamH7122on his way upלַעֲל֖וֹתla.'a.LotH5927to the high placeהַבָּמָֽה׃ סha.ba.MahH1116.
16“At this timeכָּעֵ֣ת׀ka.'EtH6256tomorrowמָחָ֡רma.CharH4279I will sendאֶשְׁלַח֩'esh.LachH7971youאֵלֶ֨יךָ'e.Lei.khaH413a manאִ֜ישׁ'ishH376from the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Benjaminבִּנְיָמִ֗ןbin.ya.MinH1144,and you are to anoint himוּמְשַׁחְתּ֤וֹu.me.shach.ToH4886rulerלְנָגִיד֙le.na.GidH5057overעַל־'al-H5921My peopleעַמִּ֣י'a.MiH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478;he will saveוְהוֹשִׁ֥יעַve.ho.Shi.a'H3467אֶת־'et-H853themעַמִּ֖י'a.MiH5971from the handמִיַּ֣דmi.YadH3027of the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםpe.lish.TimH6430.Forכִּ֤יkiH3588I have looked uponרָאִ֙יתִי֙ra.'I.tiH7200אֶת־'et-H853My peopleעַמִּ֔י'a.MiH5971,becauseכִּ֛יkiH3588their cryצַעֲקָת֖וֹtza.'a.ka.ToH6818has comeבָּ֥אָהBa.'ahH935to Meאֵלָֽי׃'e.LaiH413.”
17When Samuelוּשְׁמוּאֵ֖לu.she.mu.'ElH8050sawרָאָ֣הra.'AhH7200אֶת־'et-H853Saulשָׁא֑וּלsha.'UlH7586,the LORDוַיהוָ֣הva.Yah.wehH3068told himעָנָ֔הוּ'a.Na.huH6030, “Hereהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009is the manהָאִישׁ֙ha.'IshH376of whomאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834I spokeאָמַ֣רְתִּי אֵלֶ֔יךָ'a.Mar.ti 'e.Lei.khaH559H413;heזֶ֖הzehH2088shall ruleיַעְצֹ֥רya'.TzorH6113over My peopleבְּעַמִּֽי׃be.'a.MiH5971.”
18Saulשָׁא֛וּלsha.'UlH7586אֶת־'et-H853approachedוַיִּגַּ֥שׁvai.yi.GashH5066Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֖לshe.mu.'ElH8050inבְּת֣וֹךְbe.TokhH8432the gatewayהַשָּׁ֑עַרha.Sha.'arH8179and askedוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “Would you pleaseנָּ֣אna'H4994tellהַגִּֽידָה־ha.gi.dah-H5046mewhereאֵי־'ei-H335זֶ֖הzehH2088the seer’sהָרֹאֶֽה׃ha.ro.'EhH7203houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004is?”
19“Iאָנֹכִ֣י'a.no.KhiH595am the seerהָרֹאֶ֔הha.ro.'EhH7203,”Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֜לshe.mu.'ElH8050אֶת־'et-H853שָׁא֗וּלsha.'UlH7586וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559repliedוַיַּ֨עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030. “Go upעֲלֵ֤ה'a.LehH5927before meלְפָנַי֙le.fa.NaiH6440to the high placeהַבָּמָ֔הha.ba.MahH1116,for you shall eatוַאֲכַלְתֶּ֥םva.'a.khal.TemH398with meעִמִּ֖י'i.MiH5973todayהַיּ֑וֹםhai.YomH3117.And when I send you offוְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֣יךָve.shi.lach.Ti.khaH7971in the morningבַבֹּ֔קֶרva.Bo.kerH1242,I will tellאַגִּ֥יד'a.GidH5046youallוְכֹ֛לve.KholH3605that isאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834in your heartבִּֽלְבָבְךָ֖bil.va.ve.KhaH3824.
