4Then the LORDיְהוָ֛ה אֶל־Yah.weh 'el-H3068 H413calledוַיִּקְרָ֧אvai.yik.Ra'H7121to Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֖לshe.mu.'ElH8050,and he answeredוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Here I amהִנֵּֽנִי׃hi.Ne.niH2005.”

5He ranוַיָּ֣רָץvai.Ya.rotzH7323toאֶל־'el-H413Eliעֵלִ֗י'e.LiH5941and saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Here I amהִנְנִי֙hi.NiH2005,forכִּֽי־ki-H3588you have calledקָרָ֣אתָka.Ra.taH7121me.” “I did notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808callקָרָ֖אתִיka.Ra.tiH7121,”Eli repliedוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559. “Go backשׁ֣וּבshuvH7725and lie downשְׁכָ֑בshe.KhavH7901.”So he wentוַיֵּ֖לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980and lay downוַיִּשְׁכָּֽב׃ סvai.yish.KavH7901.

6Once againוַיֹּ֣סֶף עוֹד֮vai.Yo.sef 'OdH3254 H5750the LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068calledקְרֹ֣אke.Ro'H7121, “Samuelשְׁמוּאֵל֒she.mu.'ElH8050!”So Samuelשְׁמוּאֵל֙she.mu.'ElH8050got upוַיָּ֤קָםvai.Ya.komH6965,wentוַיֵּ֣לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980toאֶל־'el-H413Eliעֵלִ֔י'e.LiH5941,and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Here I amהִנְנִ֔יhi.NiH2005,forכִּ֥יkiH3588you have calledקָרָ֖אתָka.Ra.taH7121me.” “My sonבְנִ֖יve.NiH1121,I did notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808callקָרָ֥אתִיka.Ra.tiH7121,”Eli repliedוַיֹּ֛אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559. “Go backשׁ֥וּבshuvH7725and lie downשְׁכָֽב׃she.KhavH7901.”

7Now Samuelוּשְׁמוּאֵ֕לu.she.mu.'ElH8050did not yetטֶ֖רֶםTe.remH2962knowיָדַ֣עya.Da'H3045אֶת־'et-H853the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,because the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068had not yetוְטֶ֛רֶםve.Te.remH2962been revealedיִגָּלֶ֥הyi.ga.LehH1540to himאֵלָ֖יו'e.LavH413.

8Once againוַיֹּ֨סֶףvai.Yo.sefH3254,for the third timeבַּשְּׁלִשִׁית֒ba.she.li.ShitH7992,the LORDיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068calledקְרֹא־ke.ro'-H7121to Samuelשְׁמוּאֵל֮she.mu.'ElH8050.He got upוַיָּ֙קָם֙vai.Ya.komH6965,wentוַיֵּ֣לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980toאֶל־'el-H413Eliעֵלִ֔י'e.LiH5941,and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Here I amהִנְנִ֔יhi.NiH2005,forכִּ֥יkiH3588you have calledקָרָ֖אתָka.Ra.taH7121me.”Then Eliעֵלִ֔י כִּ֥י'e.Li kiH5941 H3588realizedוַיָּ֣בֶןvai.Ya.venH995that it was the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068who was callingקֹרֵ֥אko.Re'H7121the boyלַנָּֽעַר׃la.Na.'arH5288.

9“Goלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980and lie downשְׁכָב֒she.KhavH7901,”heעֵלִ֣י'e.LiH5941saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Samuelלִשְׁמוּאֵל֮lish.mu.'ElH8050, “andוְהָיָה֙ve.ha.YahH1961ifאִם־'im-H518He calls youיִקְרָ֣א אֵלֶ֔יךָyik.Ra' 'e.Lei.khaH7121 H413,sayוְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ve.'a.mar.TaH559, ‘Speakדַּבֵּ֣רda.BerH1696,LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,forכִּ֥יkiH3588Your servantעַבְדֶּ֑ךָ'av.De.khaH5650is listeningשֹׁמֵ֖עַsho.Me.a'H8085.’”So Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֔לshe.mu.'ElH8050wentוַיֵּ֣לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980and lay downוַיִּשְׁכַּ֖בvai.yish.KavH7901in his placeבִּמְקוֹמֽוֹ׃bim.ko.MoH4725.

10Then the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068cameוַיָּבֹ֤אvai.ya.Vo'H935and stood thereוַיִּתְיַצַּ֔בvai.yit.ya.TzavH3320,callingוַיִּקְרָ֥אvai.yik.Ra'H7121as beforeH6471, “Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֣ל׀she.mu.'ElH8050!Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֑לshe.mu.'ElH8050!”And Samuelשְׁמוּאֵל֙she.mu.'ElH8050answeredוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Speakדַּבֵּ֔רda.BerH1696,forכִּ֥יkiH3588Your servantעַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ פ'av.De.khaH5650is listeningשֹׁמֵ֖עַsho.Me.a'H8085.”

11Then the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֔ל הִנֵּ֧הshe.mu.'El hi.NehH8050 H2009, “Iאָנֹכִ֛י'a.no.KhiH595am about to doעֹשֶׂ֥ה'o.SehH6213somethingדָבָ֖רda.VarH1697in Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לbe.Yis.ra.'ElH3478at whichאֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834the earsשְׁתֵּ֥י אָזְנָֽיו׃she.Tei 'a.ze.NavH8147 H241of allכָּל־kol-H3605who hear itשֹׁ֣מְע֔וֹsho.me.'OH8085will tingleתְּצִלֶּ֖ינָהte.tzi.Lei.nahH6750.

12On thatהַהוּא֙ha.Hu'H1931dayבַּיּ֤וֹםbai.YomH3117I will carry outאָקִ֣ים'a.KimH6965againstאֶל־'el-H413Eliעֵלִ֔י'e.LiH5941אֵ֛ת'etH853everythingכָּל־kol-H3605אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I have spokenדִּבַּ֖רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696aboutאֶל־'el-H413his houseבֵּית֑וֹbei.ToH1004,from beginningהָחֵ֖לha.ChelH2490to endוְכַלֵּֽה׃ve.kha.LehH3615.

13I toldוְהִגַּ֣דְתִּיve.hi.Gad.tiH5046himthatכִּֽי־ki-H3588Iאֲנִ֛י'a.NiH589אֶת־'et-H853would judgeשֹׁפֵ֥טsho.FetH8199his houseבֵּית֖וֹbei.ToH1004foreverעַד־ עוֹלָ֑ם'ad- o.LamH5704 H5769for the iniquityבַּעֲוֹ֣ןba.'a.VonH5771of whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834he knowsיָדַ֗עya.Da'H3045,becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588his sonsבָּנָ֔יוba.NavH1121blasphemed Godמְקַֽלְלִ֤יםme.ka.LimH7043and he did notוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808restrainכִהָ֖הkhi.HahH3543them.

14Thereforeוְלָכֵ֥ןve.la.KhenH3651I have swornנִשְׁבַּ֖עְתִּיnish.Ba'.tiH7650to the houseלְבֵ֣יתle.VeitH1004of Eliעֵלִ֑י'e.LiH5941, ‘The iniquityעֲוֹ֧ן'a.VonH5771of Eli’sעֵלִ֛י'e.LiH5941houseבֵּית־beit-H1004shall neverאִֽם־ עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃'im- 'ad- o.LamH518 H5704 H5769be atoned forיִתְכַּפֵּ֞רyit.ka.PerH3722by sacrificeבְּזֶ֥בַחbe.Ze.vachH2077or offeringוּבְמִנְחָ֖הu.ve.min.ChahH4503.’”
