Hosea 11

1When IsraelH3478 was a child, then I lovedH157 him, and calledH7121 my sonH1121 out of EgyptH4714. 2The more the prophets calledH7121 them, the more they wentH1980 from them: they sacrificedH2076 unto the Baalim, and burned incenseH6999 to graven images. 3Yet I taught EphraimH669 to walk; I tookH3947 them on my armsH2220; but they knewH3045 not that I healedH7495 them. 4I drewH4900 them with cordsH5688 of a manH120, with bands of loveH160; and I wasH1961 to them as they that liftH7311 up the yokeH5923 on their jawsH3895; and I laid food before them.

5They shall not returnH7725 into the landH776 of EgyptH4714; but the Assyrian shall be their kingH4428, because they refusedH3985 to returnH7725 to me. 6And the swordH2719 shall fall upon their citiesH5892, and shall consumeH398 their bars, and devourH398 them, because of their own counselsH4156. 7And my peopleH5971 are bent on backsliding from me: though they callH7121 them to him that is on highH7311, none at all will exaltH7311 him.

8HowH349 shall I giveH5414 thee up, EphraimH669? howH349 shall I cast thee off, IsraelH3478? howH349 shall I makeH7760 thee as AdmahH126? howH349 shall I setH7760 thee as ZeboiimH6636? my heartH3820 is turnedH2015 within me, my compassions are kindled togetherH3162. 9I will not execute the fierceness of mine angerH639, I will not returnH7725 to destroyH7843 EphraimH669: for I am GodH410, and not manH376; the HolyH6918 OneH376 in the midstH7130 of thee; and I will not comeH935 in wrath. 10They shall walk after Jehovah, who will roarH7580 like a lionH738; for he will roarH7580, and the children shall come tremblingH2729 from the westH3220. 11They shall come tremblingH2729 as a birdH6833 out of EgyptH4714, and as a doveH3123 out of the landH776 of AssyriaH804; and I will make them to dwellH3427 in their housesH1004, saith Jehovah.

12Ephraim compasseth me about with falsehood, and the house of Israel with deceit; but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the Holy One.
