Out of Egypt I Called My Son
(Matthew 2:13–15)
1WhenH3588 IsraelH3478 was a childH5288, I loved himH157,and out of EgyptH4714 I calledH7121 My sonH1121.12But the more I calledH7121 Israel,the fartherH3651 they departedH1980 from MeH6440.2They sacrificedH2076 to the BaalsH1168and burned incenseH6999 to carved imagesH6456.3It was IH595 who taught EphraimH6693 to walkH8637,taking themH3947 byH5921 the armsH2220,but they neverH3808 realizedH3045that it was IH3588 who healed themH7495.4I led themH4900 with cordsH2256 of kindnessH120,with ropesH5688 of loveH160;I liftedH1961H7311 the yokeH5923 fromH5921 their necksH3895and bent downH5186H413 to feed themH398.5Will they notH3808 returnH7725 toH413 the landH776 of EgyptH4714and be ruledH4428 by AssyriaH804H1931becauseH3588 they refusedH3985 to repentH7725?6A swordH2719 will flashH2342 through their citiesH5892;it will destroyH3615 the bars of their gatesH907and consumeH398 them in their own plansH4156.God’s Love for Israel
7My peopleH5971 are bentH8511 on turning from MeH4878. Though they callH7121 toH413 the Most HighH5920, He will by no meansH3808H3162 exalt themH7311.
8HowH349 could I give you upH5414, O EphraimH669?How could I surrender youH4042, O IsraelH3478?HowH349 could I makeH5414 you like AdmahH126?How could I treatH7760 you like ZeboiimH6636?My heartH3820 is turnedH2015 within MeH5921;My compassionH5150 is stirredH3648!9I will notH3808 executeH6213 the full furyH2740 of My angerH639;I will notH3808 destroyH7843 EphraimH669 againH7725.ForH3588 IH595 am GodH410 and notH3808 manH376—the HolyH6918 One among youH7130—and I will notH3808 comeH935 in wrathH5892.10They will walk afterH310H1980 the LORDH3068;He will roarH7580 like a lionH738.WhenH3588 HeH1931 roarsH7580,His childrenH1121 will come tremblingH2729 from the westH3220.11They will come tremblingH2729 like birdsH6833 from EgyptH4714and like dovesH3123 from the landH776 of AssyriaH804.Then I will settle themH3427 inH5921 their homesH1004,declaresH5002 the LORDH3068.
