1 Chronicles 21:15-18
15And GodH430 sentH7971 an angelH4397 unto JerusalemH3389 to destroyH7843 it: and as he was about to destroyH7843, Jehovah beheld, and he repentedH5162 him of the evilH7451, and saidH559 to the destroyingH7843 angelH4397, It is enoughH7227; nowH6258 stay thy handH3027. And the angelH4397 of Jehovah was standingH5975 by the threshing-floor of OrnanH771 the JebusiteH2983. 16And DavidH1732 liftedH5375 up his eyesH5869, and sawH7200 the angelH4397 of Jehovah standingH5975 between earthH776 and heavenH8064, having a drawnH8025 swordH2719 in his handH3027 stretchedH5186 out over JerusalemH3389. Then DavidH1732 and the eldersH2205, clothed in sackclothH8242, fellH5307 upon their facesH6440. 17And DavidH1732 saidH559 unto GodH430, Is it not I that commanded the peopleH5971 to beH1961 numberedH4487? even I it is that have sinnedH2398 and done very wickedly; but these sheepH6629, what have they done? let thy handH3027, I pray thee, O Jehovah my GodH430, beH1961 against me, and against my father’sH1 houseH1004; but not against thy peopleH5971, that they should beH1961 plaguedH4046.
18Then the angelH4397 of Jehovah commanded GadH1410 to sayH559 to DavidH1732, that DavidH1732 should goH5927 up, and rear an altarH4196 unto Jehovah in the threshing-floor of OrnanH771 the JebusiteH2983.
