1 Chronicles 22
American Standard Version
1Then DavidH1732 saidH559, This is the houseH1004 of Jehovah GodH430, and this is the altarH4196 of burnt-offering for IsraelH3478.
2And DavidH1732 commanded to gatherH3664 together the sojournersH1616 that were in the landH776 of IsraelH3478; and he setH5975 masons to hew wrought stonesH68 to buildH1129 the houseH1004 of GodH430. 3And DavidH1732 preparedH3559 ironH1270 in abundanceH7230 for the nailsH4548 for the doorsH1817 of the gatesH8179, and for the couplings; and brass in abundanceH7230 without weightH4948; 4and cedar-trees without numberH4557: for the SidoniansH6722 and they of Tyre broughtH935 cedar-trees in abundanceH7230 to DavidH1732. 5And DavidH1732 saidH559, SolomonH8010 my sonH1121 is youngH5288 and tenderH7390, and the houseH1004 that is to be builded for Jehovah must be exceeding magnificent, of fame and of gloryH8597 throughout all countries: I will therefore makeH1431 preparation for it. So DavidH1732 preparedH3559 abundantly before his deathH4194.
6Then he calledH7121 for SolomonH8010 his sonH1121, and charged him to buildH1129 a houseH1004 for Jehovah, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478. 7And DavidH1732 saidH559 to SolomonH8010 his sonH1121, As for me, it was in my heartH3824 to buildH1129 a houseH1004 unto the nameH8034 of Jehovah my GodH430. 8But the wordH1697 of Jehovah came to me, sayingH559, Thou hast shedH8210 bloodH1818 abundantly, and hast madeH6213 greatH1419 warsH4421: thou shalt not buildH1129 a houseH1004 unto my nameH8034, because thou hast shedH8210 much bloodH1818 upon the earthH776 in my sight. 9Behold, a sonH1121 shall beH1961 bornH3205 to thee, who shall beH1961 a manH376 of restH5117; and I will giveH5414 him restH5117 from all his enemiesH341 roundH5439 about; for his nameH8034 shall beH1961 SolomonH8010, and I will giveH5414 peaceH7965 and quietness unto IsraelH3478 in his daysH3117. 10He shall buildH1129 a houseH1004 for my nameH8034; and he shall beH1961 my sonH1121, and I will beH1961 his fatherH1; and I will establishH3559 the throneH3678 of his kingdomH4438 over IsraelH3478 for everH5769. 11NowH6258, my sonH1121, Jehovah beH1961 with thee; and prosperH6743 thou, and buildH1129 the houseH1004 of Jehovah thy GodH430, as he hath spokenH1696 concerning thee. 12OnlyH389 Jehovah giveH5414 thee discretion and understandingH998, and giveH5414 thee charge concerning IsraelH3478; that so thou mayest keepH8104 the lawH8451 of Jehovah thy GodH430. 13ThenH227 shalt thou prosperH6743, if thou observeH8104 to do the statutesH2706 and the ordinancesH4941 which Jehovah charged MosesH4872 with concerning IsraelH3478: be strongH2388, and of good courage; fearH3372 not, neither be dismayedH2865. 14Now, behold, in my affliction I have preparedH3559 for the houseH1004 of Jehovah a hundredH3967 thousandH505 talentsH3603 of goldH2091, and a thousandH505 thousandH505 talentsH3603 of silverH3701, and of brass and ironH1270 without weightH4948; for it is in abundanceH7230: timber also and stoneH68 have I preparedH3559; and thou mayest addH3254 thereto. 15Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundanceH7230, hewers and workers of stoneH68 and timber, and all men that are skilful in every manner of workH4399: 16of the goldH2091, the silverH3701, and the brass, and the ironH1270, there is no numberH4557. AriseH6965 and beH1961 doing, and Jehovah beH1961 with thee.
17DavidH1732 also commandedH6680 all the princesH8269 of IsraelH3478 to helpH5826 SolomonH8010 his sonH1121, saying, 18Is not Jehovah your GodH430 with you? and hath he not givenH5414 you restH5117 on every side? for he hath delivered the inhabitantsH3427 of the landH776 into my handH3027; and the landH776 is subduedH3533 before Jehovah, and before his peopleH5971. 19NowH6258 setH5414 your heartH3824 and your soulH5315 to seekH1875 after Jehovah your GodH430; ariseH6965 thereforeH6258, and buildH1129 ye the sanctuaryH4720 of Jehovah GodH430, to bringH935 the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of Jehovah, and the holyH6944 vesselsH3627 of GodH430, into the houseH1004 that is to be builtH1129 to the nameH8034 of Jehovah.
