1 Chronicles 12:1-22

1Now these are they that cameH935 to DavidH1732 to ZiklagH6860, while he yetH5750 kept himself close because of SaulH7586 the sonH1121 of KishH7027; and they were among the mightyH1368 menH1368, his helpersH5826 in warH4421. 2They were armed with bowsH7198, and could use both the rightH3231 hand and the left in slinging stonesH68 and in shooting arrowsH2671 from the bowH7198: they were of Saul’s brethren of BenjaminH1144. 3The chiefH7218 was AhiezerH295; then JoashH3101, the sonsH1121 of Shemaah the Gibeathite, and Jeziel, and PeletH6404, the sonsH1121 of AzmavethH5820, and Beracah, and JehuH3058 the AnathothiteH6069, 4and IshmaiahH3460 the GibeoniteH1393, a mightyH1368 manH1368 among the thirtyH7970, and over the thirtyH7970, and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Jozabad the Gederathite, 5Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite, 6Elkanah, and Isshiah, and Azarel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korahites, 7and Joelah, and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.

8And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David to the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valor, men trained for war, that could handle shield and spear; whose faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as the roes upon the mountains: 9Ezer the chief, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third, 10Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth, 11Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh, 12Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth, 13Jeremiah the tenth, Machbannai the eleventh. 14These of the sons of Gad were captains of the host: he that was least was equal to a hundred, and the greatest to a thousand. 15These are they that went over the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed all its banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east and toward the west.

16And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the stronghold unto David. 17And DavidH1732 wentH935 out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be comeH935 peaceably unto me to help me, my heart shall be knit unto you; but if ye be comeH935 to betray me to mine adversaries, seeing there is no wrong in my hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it. 18Then the Spirit cameH935 upon Amasai, who wasH1961 chief of the thirty, and he saidH559, Thine are we, DavidH1732, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peaceH7965, peaceH7965 beH1961 unto thee, and peaceH7965 beH1961 to thy helpersH5826; for thy GodH430 helpeth thee. Then DavidH1732 received them, and made them captains of the band.

19Of Manasseh also there fell away some to DavidH1732, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helpedH5826 them not; for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall away to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our headsH7218. 20As he wentH935 to Ziklag, there fellH5307 to him of ManassehH4519, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zillethai, captains of thousands that were of ManassehH4519. 21And they helped David against the band of rovers: for they were all mighty men of valor, and were captains in the host. 22For from day to day menH1368 came to DavidH1732 to helpH5826 him, until there wasH1961 a great hostH6635, like the hostH6635 of God.
