Chronicles 12:1-22
Now these were theH428 men who cameH935 toH413 DavidH1732 at ZiklagH6860, whileH5750 he was still banishedH6113 from the presenceH6440 of SaulH7586 sonH1121 of KishH7027 (theyH1992 were among the mighty menH1368 who helped himH5826 in battleH4421; 2they were archersH5401H7198 using both the rightH3231 and leftH8041 hands to sling stonesH68 and shoot arrowsH2671H7198; and they were Saul’sH7586 kinsmenH251 from BenjaminH1144):
AhiezerH295 their chiefH7218 and JoashH3101, who were the sonsH1121 of ShemaahH8094 the GibeathiteH1395; JezielH3149 and PeletH6404, the sonsH1121 of AzmavethH5820; BeracahH1294; JehuH3058 the AnathothiteH6069; 4IshmaiahH3460 the GibeoniteH1393, a mighty manH1368 among the ThirtyH7970 and a leader overH5921 the ThirtyH7970; JeremiahH3414, JahazielH3166, JohananH3076, and JozabadH3107 the GederathiteH1452; 5EluzaiH498, JerimothH3406, BealiahH1183, ShemariahH8114, and ShephatiahH8203 the HaruphiteH2741; 6ElkanahH511, IsshiahH3449, AzarelH5832, JoezerH3134, and JashobeamH3434, who were KorahitesH7145; 7and JoelahH3132 and ZebadiahH2069, the sonsH1121 of JerohamH3395 fromH4480 GedorH1446.
SomeH4480 GaditesH1425 defectedH914 toH413 DavidH1732 at his strongholdH4679 in the wildernessH4057. They were mightyH1368 menH376 of valorH2428, trainedH6635 for battleH4421, expertsH6186 with the shieldH6793 and spearH7420, whose facesH6440 were like the facesH6440 of lionsH738 and who were as swiftH4116 as gazellesH6643 onH5921 the mountainsH2022:
EzerH5829 the chiefH7218, ObadiahH5662 the secondH8145 in command, EliabH446 the thirdH7992, 10MishmannahH4925 the fourthH7243, JeremiahH3414 the fifthH2549, 11AttaiH6262 the sixthH8345, ElielH447 the seventhH7637, 12JohananH3076 the eighthH8066, ElzabadH443 the ninthH8671, 13JeremiahH3414 the tenthH6224, and MachbanaiH4344 the eleventhH6249H6240.
TheseH428 GaditesH1121H1410 were armyH6635 commandersH7218, the leastH6996 of whom was a match for a hundredH3967, and the greatestH1419 for a thousandH505.
TheseH428 areH1992 the ones whoH834 crossedH5674 the JordanH3383 in the firstH7223 monthH2320 when it was overflowingH4390H5921 allH3605 its banksH1428, and they put to flightH1272 allH3605 those in the valleysH6010, both to the eastH4217 and to the westH4628.
Other BenjamitesH1121H1144 and some men from JudahH3063 also cameH935H4480 to DavidH1732 in his strongholdH4679. 17And DavidH3318 went outH1732 to meet themH6440H6030, sayingH559, “IfH518 you have comeH935 to meH413 in peaceH7965 to help meH5826, my heartH3824 will beH1961 unitedH3162 with youH5921; but ifH518 you have come to betray meH7411 to my enemiesH6862 when my handsH3709 are freeH3808 of violenceH2555, may the GodH430 of our fathersH1 seeH7200 it and judge youH3198.”
Then the SpiritH7307 came uponH3847 AmasaiH6022, the chiefH7218 of the Thirty, and he saidH7970:
So DavidH1732 received themH6901 and made themH5414 leadersH7218 of his troopsH1416.
Some fromH5307 ManassehH4519 defectedH5921 to DavidH1732 when he wentH935 withH5973 the PhilistinesH6430 to fightH5921 againstH7586 SaulH4421. (They did notH3808 help the PhilistinesH5826 becauseH3588 the PhilistineH6430 rulersH5633 consultedH6098 and sent David awayH7971, sayingH559, “It will cost us our headsH7218 if he defectsH5307 toH413 his masterH113 SaulH7586.”) 20When David wentH1980 toH413 ZiklagH6860, these men of ManassehH4519 defectedH5307 to himH5921:
AdnahH5734, JozabadH3107, JediaelH3043, MichaelH4317, JozabadH3107, ElihuH453, and ZillethaiH6769, chiefsH7218 of thousandsH505 in ManassehH4519.
TheyH1992 helpedH5826 DavidH1732 againstH5921 the raidersH1416, forH3588 they wereH1961 allH3605 mighty menH1368 of valorH2428 and commandersH8269 in the armyH6635.
ForH3588 at that timeH6256 men cameH935 toH5921 DavidH1732 dayH3117 after dayH3117 to help himH5826, untilH5704 he had a greatH1419 armyH4264, like the armyH4264 of GodH430.
