3AndJonathanיוֹנָתָ֗ןyo.na.TanH3129smoteוַיַּ֣ךְvai.YakhH5221thegarrisonנְצִ֤יבne.TzivH5333of thePhilistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּים֙pe.lish.TimH6430that was inGebaבְּגֶ֔בַעbe.Ge.va'H1387, and thePhilistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםpe.lish.TimH6430heardוַֽיִּשְׁמְע֖וּvai.yish.me.'UH8085of it . 6When themenוְאִ֨ישׁve.'IshH376ofIsraelיִשְׂרָאֵ֤לYis.ra.'ElH3478sawרָאוּ֙ra.'UH7200that they were hedgedinH6887, (for thepeopleהָעָ֑םha.'AmH5971weredistressedנִגַּ֖שׂni.GasH5065,) then thepeopleהָעָ֗םha.'AmH5971hidוַיִּֽתְחַבְּא֣וּvai.yit.cha.be.'UH2244themselves incavesבַּמְּעָר֤וֹתba.me.'a.RotH4631, and inthicketsH2337, and inrocksוּבַסְּלָעִ֔יםu.va.se.la.'ImH5553, and in highplacesוּבַצְּרִחִ֖יםu.va.tze.ri.ChimH6877, and inpitsוּבַבֹּרֽוֹת׃u.va.bo.RotH953.

7And some of theHebrewsוְעִבְרִ֗יםve.'iv.RimH5680wentoverעָֽבְרוּ֙'a.ve.RuH5674Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֔ןhai.yar.DenH3383to thelandאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776ofGadגָּ֖דgadH1410andGileadוְגִלְעָ֑דve.gil.'AdH1568. As forSaulוְשָׁאוּל֙ve.sha.'UlH7586, he was yet inGilgalבַגִּלְגָּ֔לva.gil.GalH1537, and all thepeopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971followedאַחֲרָֽיו׃'a.cha.RavH310himtremblingחָרְד֥וּcha.re.DuH2729.

8And hetarriedוַיּ֣וֹחֶלvai.yi.chelH3176sevenשִׁבְעַ֣תshiv.'AtH7651daysיָמִ֗יםya.MimH3117, according to the settimeלַמּוֹעֵד֙la.mo.'EdH4150thatSamuelשְׁמוּאֵ֔לshe.mu.'ElH8050had appointed : butSamuelשְׁמוּאֵ֖לshe.mu.'ElH8050cameבָ֥אva'H935not toGilgalהַגִּלְגָּ֑לha.gil.GalH1537; and thepeopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971werescatteredוַיָּ֥פֶץvai.Ya.fetzH6327from him.

9AndSaulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, Bringhereהַגִּ֣שׁוּha.Gi.shuH5066a burntofferingהָעֹלָ֖הha.'o.LahH5930to me, and peaceofferingsוְהַשְּׁלָמִ֑יםve.ha.she.la.MimH8002. And heofferedוַיַּ֖עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927the burntofferingהָעֹלָֽה׃ha.'o.LahH5930.

10And it came to pass, that as soon as he hadfinishedכְּכַלֹּתוֹ֙ke.kha.lo.ToH3615offeringלְהַעֲל֣וֹתle.ha.'a.LotH5927the burntofferingהָעֹלָ֔הha.'o.LahH5930, behold,Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֖לshe.mu.'ElH8050cameבָּ֑אBa'H935; andSaulשָׁא֛וּלsha.'UlH7586wentoutוַיֵּצֵ֥אvai.ye.Tze'H3318tomeetH7125him, that he mightblessלְבָרֲכֽוֹ׃le.va.ra.KhoH1288him.

11AndSamuelשְׁמוּאֵ֖לshe.mu.'ElH8050saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, What hast thoudoneעָשִׂ֑יתָ'a.Si.taH6213?
