1Now the childrenלִבְנֵ֧יliv.NeiH1121of Reubenרְאוּבֵ֛ןre.'u.VenH7205and the childrenוְלִבְנֵי־ve.liv.nei-H1121of Gadגָ֖דgadH1410had a veryמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966greatעָצ֣וּם'a.TzumH6099multitudeרַ֗בRavH7227of cattleוּמִקְנֶ֣ה׀u.mik.NehH4735:and when they sawוַיִּרְא֞וּvai.yir.'UH7200the landאֶ֤רֶץ'E.retzH776of Jazerיַעְזֵר֙ya'.ZerH3270,and the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Gileadגִּלְעָ֔דgil.'AdH1568,that, behold, the placeהַמָּק֖וֹםha.ma.KomH4725wasa placeמְק֥וֹםme.KomH4725for cattleמִקְנֶֽה׃mik.NehH4735;

2The childrenבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Gadגָ֖דgadH1410and the childrenוּבְנֵ֣יu.ve.NeiH1121of Reubenרְאוּבֵ֑ןre.'u.VenH7205cameוַיָּבֹ֥אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935and spakeוַיֹּאמְר֤וּvai.yo.me.RuH559unto Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872,and to Eleazarאֶלְעָזָ֣ר'el.'a.ZarH499the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548,and unto the princesנְשִׂיאֵ֥יne.si.'EiH5387of the congregationהָעֵדָ֖הha.'e.DahH5712,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

3Atarothעֲטָר֤וֹתa.ta.RotH5852,and Dibonוְדִיבֹן֙ve.di.VonH1769,and Jazerוְיַעְזֵ֣רve.ya'.ZerH3270,and Nimrahוְנִמְרָ֔הve.nim.RahH5247,and Heshbonוְחֶשְׁבּ֖וֹןve.chesh.BonH2809,and Elealehוְאֶלְעָלֵ֑הve.'el.'a.LehH500,and Shebamוּשְׂבָ֥םu.se.VamH7643,and Neboוּנְב֖וֹu.ne.VoH5015,and Beonוּבְעֹֽן׃u.ve.'OnH1194,

4Eventhe countryהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776which Yhwhיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068smoteהִכָּ֤הhi.KahH5221beforeלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440the congregationעֲדַ֣ת'a.DatH5712of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478, isa landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776for cattleמִקְנֶ֖הmik.NehH4735,and thy servantsוְלַֽעֲבָדֶ֖יךָve.la.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650have cattleמִקְנֶֽה׃ סmik.NehH4735:

5Wherefore, saidוַיֹּאמְר֗וּvai.yo.me.RuH559they, if we have foundמָצָ֤אנוּma.Tza.nuH4672graceחֵן֙chenH2580in thy sightבְּעֵינֶ֔יךָbe.'ei.Nei.khaH5869,let this landהָאָ֧רֶץha.'A.retzH776be givenיֻתַּ֞ןyu.TanH5414unto thy servantsלַעֲבָדֶ֖יךָla.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650for a possessionלַאֲחֻזָּ֑הla.'a.chu.ZahH272, andbring us not overתַּעֲבִרֵ֖נוּta.'a.vi.Re.nuH5674Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃hai.yar.DenH3383.

7And wherefore discourage yeתְנִיא֔וּןte.nu.'unH5106the heartלֵ֖בlevH3820of the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478from going overמֵֽעֲבֹר֙me.'a.VorH5674into the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776which Yhwhיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068hath givenנָתַ֥ןna.TanH5414them?

8Thus didעָשׂ֖וּ'a.SuH6213your fathersאֲבֹתֵיכֶ֑ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1,when I sentבְּשָׁלְחִ֥יbe.sha.le.ChiH7971them from Kadesh–barneaH6947to seeלִרְא֥וֹתlir.'otH7200the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.

9For when they went upוַֽיַּעֲל֞וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927unto the valleyנַ֣חַלNa.chalH5158of Eshcolאֶשְׁכּ֗וֹל'esh.KolH812,and sawוַיִּרְאוּ֙vai.yir.'UH7200the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776,they discouragedוַיָּנִ֕יאוּvai.ya.Ni.'uH5106the heartלֵ֖בlevH3820of the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,that they should not goבֹא֙vo'H935into the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776which Yhwhיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068had givenנָתַ֥ןna.TanH5414them.

14And, behold, ye are risen upקַמְתֶּ֗םkam.TemH6965in your fathers’אֲבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם'a.Vo.tei.KhemH1stead, an increaseתַּרְבּ֖וּתtar.ButH8635of sinfulחַטָּאִ֑יםcha.ta.'ImH2400menאֲנָשִׁ֣ים'a.na.ShimH582,to augmentלִסְפּ֣וֹתlis.PotH5595yet the fierceחֲר֥וֹןcha.RonH2740angerאַף־'af-H639of Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068toward Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

15For if ye turn awayתְשׁוּבֻן֙te.shu.VunH7725from afterמֵֽאַחֲרָ֔יוme.'a.cha.RavH310him, he will yet againוְיָסַ֣ףve.ya.SafH3254leaveH3240them in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057;and ye shall destroyוְשִֽׁחַתֶּ֖םve.shi.cha.TemH7843all this peopleהָעָ֥םha.'AmH5971.

16And they came nearוַיִּגְּשׁ֤וּvai.yi.ge.ShuH5066unto him, and saidוַ֣יֹּאמְר֔וּvai.yo.me.RuH559,We will buildנִבְנֶ֥הniv.NehH1129sheepfoldsגִּדְרֹ֥ת צֹ֛אןgid.Rot tzonH6629 H1448here for our cattleלְמִקְנֵ֖נוּle.mik.Ne.nuH4735,and citiesוְעָרִ֖יםve.'a.RimH5892for our little onesלְטַפֵּֽנוּ׃le.ta.Pe.nuH2945:

18We will not returnנָשׁ֖וּבna.ShuvH7725unto our housesבָּתֵּ֑ינוּba.Tei.nuH1004,until the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478have inheritedהִתְנַחֵל֙hit.na.ChelH5157every manאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376his inheritanceנַחֲלָתֽוֹ׃na.cha.la.ToH5159.
