1Now the childrenלִבְנֵ֧יliv.NeiH1121of Reubenרְאוּבֵ֛ןre.'u.VenH7205and the childrenוְלִבְנֵי־ve.liv.nei-H1121of Gadגָ֖דgadH1410had a veryמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966greatעָצ֣וּם'a.TzumH6099multitudeרַ֗בRavH7227of cattleוּמִקְנֶ֣ה׀u.mik.NehH4735:and when they sawוַיִּרְא֞וּvai.yir.'UH7200the landאֶ֤רֶץ'E.retzH776of Jazerיַעְזֵר֙ya'.ZerH3270,and the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Gileadגִּלְעָ֔דgil.'AdH1568,that, behold, the placeהַמָּק֖וֹםha.ma.KomH4725wasa placeמְק֥וֹםme.KomH4725for cattleמִקְנֶֽה׃mik.NehH4735;

2The childrenבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Gadגָ֖דgadH1410and the childrenוּבְנֵ֣יu.ve.NeiH1121of Reubenרְאוּבֵ֑ןre.'u.VenH7205cameוַיָּבֹ֥אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935and spakeוַיֹּאמְר֤וּvai.yo.me.RuH559unto Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872,and to Eleazarאֶלְעָזָ֣ר'el.'a.ZarH499the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548,and unto the princesנְשִׂיאֵ֥יne.si.'EiH5387of the congregationהָעֵדָ֖הha.'e.DahH5712,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

3Atarothעֲטָר֤וֹתa.ta.RotH5852,and Dibonוְדִיבֹן֙ve.di.VonH1769,and Jazerוְיַעְזֵ֣רve.ya'.ZerH3270,and Nimrahוְנִמְרָ֔הve.nim.RahH5247,and Heshbonוְחֶשְׁבּ֖וֹןve.chesh.BonH2809,and Elealehוְאֶלְעָלֵ֑הve.'el.'a.LehH500,and Shebamוּשְׂבָ֥םu.se.VamH7643,and Neboוּנְב֖וֹu.ne.VoH5015,and Beonוּבְעֹֽן׃u.ve.'OnH1194,

4Eventhe countryהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776which the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068smoteהִכָּ֤הhi.KahH5221beforeלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440the congregationעֲדַ֣ת'a.DatH5712of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478, isa landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776for cattleמִקְנֶ֖הmik.NehH4735,and thy servantsוְלַֽעֲבָדֶ֖יךָve.la.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650have cattleמִקְנֶֽה׃ סmik.NehH4735:

5Wherefore, saidוַיֹּאמְר֗וּvai.yo.me.RuH559they, if we have foundמָצָ֤אנוּma.Tza.nuH4672graceחֵן֙chenH2580in thy sightבְּעֵינֶ֔יךָbe.'ei.Nei.khaH5869,let this landהָאָ֧רֶץha.'A.retzH776be givenיֻתַּ֞ןyu.TanH5414unto thy servantsלַעֲבָדֶ֖יךָla.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650for a possessionלַאֲחֻזָּ֑הla.'a.chu.ZahH272, andbring us not overתַּעֲבִרֵ֖נוּta.'a.vi.Re.nuH5674Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃hai.yar.DenH3383.

6And Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto the childrenלִבְנֵי־liv.nei-H1121of Gadגָ֖דgadH1410and to the childrenוְלִבְנֵ֣יve.liv.NeiH1121of Reubenרְאוּבֵ֑ןre.'u.VenH7205,Shall your brethrenהַאַֽחֵיכֶ֗םha.'a.chei.KhemH251goיָבֹ֙אוּ֙ya.Vo.'uH935to warלַמִּלְחָמָ֔הla.mil.cha.MahH4421,and shall ye sitתֵּ֥שְׁבוּTe.she.vuH3427here?

7And wherefore discourage yeתְנִיא֔וּןte.nu.'unH5106the heartלֵ֖בlevH3820of the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478from going overמֵֽעֲבֹר֙me.'a.VorH5674into the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776which the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068hath givenנָתַ֥ןna.TanH5414them?

8Thus didעָשׂ֖וּ'a.SuH6213your fathersאֲבֹתֵיכֶ֑ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1,when I sentבְּשָׁלְחִ֥יbe.sha.le.ChiH7971them from Kadesh–barneaH6947to seeלִרְא֥וֹתlir.'otH7200the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.

9For when they went upוַֽיַּעֲל֞וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927unto the valleyנַ֣חַלNa.chalH5158of Eshcolאֶשְׁכּ֗וֹל'esh.KolH812,and sawוַיִּרְאוּ֙vai.yir.'UH7200the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776,they discouragedוַיָּנִ֕יאוּvai.ya.Ni.'uH5106the heartלֵ֖בlevH3820of the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,that they should not goבֹא֙vo'H935into the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776which the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068had givenנָתַ֥ןna.TanH5414them.

10And the Lord’sיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068angerאַ֥ף'afH639was kindledוַיִּֽחַר־vai.yi.char-H2734the same timeבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117,and he swareוַיִּשָּׁבַ֖עvai.yi.sha.Va'H7650,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

11Surelyאִם־'im-H518none of the menהָאֲנָשִׁ֜יםha.'a.na.ShimH582that came upהָעֹלִ֣יםha.'o.LimH5927out of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֗יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,from twentyעֶשְׂרִ֤ים'es.RimH6242yearsשָׁנָה֙sha.NahH8141oldמִבֶּ֨ןmi.BenH1121and upwardוָמַ֔עְלָהva.Ma'.lahH4605,shall seeיִרְא֨וּyir.'UH7200the landהָאֲדָמָ֔הha.'a.da.MahH127which I swareנִשְׁבַּ֛עְתִּיnish.Ba'.tiH7650unto Abrahamלְאַבְרָהָ֥םle.'av.ra.HamH85,unto Isaacלְיִצְחָ֖קle.yitz.ChakH3327,and unto Jacobוּֽלְיַעֲקֹ֑בu.le.ya.'a.KoH3290;because they have not whollyמִלְא֖וּmil.'UH4390followedאַחֲרָֽי׃'a.cha.RaiH310me:

12Save Calebכָּלֵ֤בka.LevH3612the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jephunnehיְפֻנֶּה֙ye.fu.NehH3312the Keneziteהַקְּנִזִּ֔יha.ke.ni.ZiH7074,and Joshuaוִיהוֹשֻׁ֖עַvi.ho.Shu.a'H3091the sonבִּן־bin-H1121of Nunנ֑וּןNunH5126:for they have whollyמִלְא֖וּmil.'UH4390followedאַחֲרֵ֥י'a.cha.ReiH310the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

13And the Lord’sיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068angerאַ֤ף'afH639was kindledוַיִּֽחַר־vai.yi.char-H2734against Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לbe.Yis.ra.'ElH3478,and he made them wanderוַיְנִעֵם֙vay.ni.'EmH5128in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֔רba.mid.BarH4057fortyאַרְבָּעִ֖ים'ar.ba.'ImH705yearsשָׁנָ֑הsha.NahH8141,until all the generationהַדּ֔וֹרha.DorH1755,that had doneהָעֹשֶׂ֥הha.'o.SehH6213evilהָרַ֖עha.Ra'H7451in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֥יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068,was consumedתֹּם֙tomH8552.

14And, behold, ye are risen upקַמְתֶּ֗םkam.TemH6965in your fathers’אֲבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם'a.Vo.tei.KhemH1stead, an increaseתַּרְבּ֖וּתtar.ButH8635of sinfulחַטָּאִ֑יםcha.ta.'ImH2400menאֲנָשִׁ֣ים'a.na.ShimH582,to augmentלִסְפּ֣וֹתlis.PotH5595yet the fierceחֲר֥וֹןcha.RonH2740angerאַף־'af-H639of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068toward Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

15For if ye turn awayתְשׁוּבֻן֙te.shu.VunH7725from afterמֵֽאַחֲרָ֔יוme.'a.cha.RavH310him, he will yet againוְיָסַ֣ףve.ya.SafH3254leaveH3240them in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057;and ye shall destroyוְשִֽׁחַתֶּ֖םve.shi.cha.TemH7843all this peopleהָעָ֥םha.'AmH5971.

16And they came nearוַיִּגְּשׁ֤וּvai.yi.ge.ShuH5066unto him, and saidוַ֣יֹּאמְר֔וּvai.yo.me.RuH559,We will buildנִבְנֶ֥הniv.NehH1129sheepfoldsגִּדְרֹ֥ת צֹ֛אןgid.Rot tzonH6629 H1448here for our cattleלְמִקְנֵ֖נוּle.mik.Ne.nuH4735,and citiesוְעָרִ֖יםve.'a.RimH5892for our little onesלְטַפֵּֽנוּ׃le.ta.Pe.nuH2945:

17But we ourselvesוַאֲנַ֜חְנוּva.'a.Nach.nuH587will go readyחֻשִׁ֗יםchu.ShimH2363armedנֵחָלֵ֣ץne.cha.LetzH2502beforeלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,until we have broughtהֲבִֽיאֹנֻ֖םha.vi.'o.NumH935them unto their placeמְקוֹמָ֑םme.ko.MamH4725:and our little onesטַפֵּ֙נוּ֙ta.Pe.nuH2945shall dwellוְיָשַׁ֤בve.ya.ShavH3427in the fencedהַמִּבְצָ֔רha.miv.TzarH4013citiesבְּעָרֵ֣יbe.'a.ReiH5892becauseמִפְּנֵ֖יmi.pe.NeiH6440of the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֥יyo.she.VeiH3427of the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.

18We will not returnנָשׁ֖וּבna.ShuvH7725unto our housesבָּתֵּ֑ינוּba.Tei.nuH1004,until the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478have inheritedהִתְנַחֵל֙hit.na.ChelH5157every manאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376his inheritanceנַחֲלָתֽוֹ׃na.cha.la.ToH5159.

19For we will not inheritנִנְחַל֙nin.ChalH5157with them on yonder sideמֵעֵ֥בֶרme.'E.verH5676Jordanלַיַּרְדֵּ֖ןlai.yar.DenH3383,or forwardוָהָ֑לְאָהva.Hal.'ahH1973;because our inheritanceנַחֲלָתֵ֙נוּ֙na.cha.la.Te.nuH5159is fallenבָ֤אָהVa.'ahH935to us on this sideמֵעֵ֥בֶרme.'E.verH5676Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֖ןhai.yar.DenH3383eastwardמִזְרָֽחָה׃ פmiz.Ra.chahH4217.
