39And Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872toldוַיְדַבֵּ֤רvay.da.BerH1696these sayingsהַדְּבָרִ֣יםha.de.va.RimH1697unto all the childrenבְּנֵ֖יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478:and the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971mournedוַיִּֽתְאַבְּל֥וּvai.yit.'a.be.LuH56greatlyמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966.

40And they rose up earlyוַיַּשְׁכִּ֣מוּvai.yash.Ki.muH7925in the morningבַבֹּ֔קֶרva.Bo.kerH1242,and gat them upוַיַּֽעֲל֥וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927into the topרֹאשׁ־rosh-H7218of the mountainהָהָ֖רha.HarH2022,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,LoH2009, we be here,and will go upוְעָלִ֛ינוּve.'a.Li.nuH5927unto the placeהַמָּק֛וֹםha.ma.KomH4725which Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068hath promisedאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559:for we have sinnedחָטָֽאנוּ׃cha.Ta.nuH2398.

41And Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Wherefore now do ye transgressעֹבְרִ֖ים'oe.RimH5674the commandmentפִּ֣יpiH6310of Yhwhיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068?but it shall not prosperתִצְלָֽח׃titz.LachH6743.

42Go not upתַּעֲל֔וּta.'a.LuH5927,for Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068isnot amongבְּקִרְבְּכֶ֑םbe.kir.be.KhemH7130you; that ye be not smittenתִּנָּ֣גְפ֔וּti.Na.ge.FuH5062beforeלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440your enemiesאֹיְבֵיכֶֽם׃'o.ye.vei.KhemH341.

43For the Amalekitesהָעֲמָלֵקִ֨יha.'a.mal.KiH6003and the Canaanitesוְהַכְּנַעֲנִ֥יve.ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669arethere beforeלִפְנֵיכֶ֔םlif.nei.KhemH6440you, and ye shall fallוּנְפַלְתֶּ֖םu.ne.fal.TemH5307by the swordבֶּחָ֑רֶבbe.Cha.revH2719:because ye are turnedשַׁבְתֶּם֙shav.TemH7725awayמֵאַחֲרֵ֣יme.'a.cha.ReiH310from Yhwhיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,Therefore Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068will not be with you.

44But they presumedוַיַּעְפִּ֕לוּvai.ya'.Pi.luH6075to go upלַעֲל֖וֹתla.'a.LotH5927unto the hillהָהָ֑רha.HarH2022topרֹ֣אשׁroshH7218:nevertheless the arkוַאֲר֤וֹןva.'a.RonH727of the covenantבְּרִית־be.rit-H1285of Yhwhיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,and Mosesוּמֹשֶׁ֔הu.mo.ShehH4872,departedמָ֖שׁוּMa.shuH4185not outמִקֶּ֥רֶבmi.Ke.revH7130of the campהַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃Ha.ma.cha.NehH4264.

45Then the Amalekitesהָעֲמָלֵקִי֙ha.'a.mal.KiH6003came downוַיֵּ֤רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381,and the Canaanitesוְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔יve.ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669which dweltהַיֹּשֵׁ֖בhai.yo.ShevH3427in that hillבָּהָ֣רba.HarH2022,and smoteוַיַּכּ֥וּםvai.ya.KumH5221them, and discomfitedוַֽיַּכְּת֖וּםvai.ya.ke.TumH3807them, evenunto Hormahהַֽחָרְמָֽה׃ פHa.cha.re.MahH2767.
