Job Loses His Health

11Again, there was a dayH3117 when the sonsH1121 of GodH430 cameH935 to presentH3320 themselves beforeH5921 the LordH3068, and 2SatanH7854 alsoH1571 cameH935 amongH8432 them to presentH3320 himself beforeH5921 the LordH3068. 2The LordH3068 saidH559 to SatanH7854, “WhereH335 have you comeH935 from?” Then SatanH7854 answeredH6030 the LordH3068 and saidH559, “From roamingH7751 aboutH7751 on the earthH776 and walkingH1980 aroundH1980 on it.” 3The LordH3068 saidH559 to SatanH7854, “Have you 3consideredH7760H3820H5921 My servantH5650 JobH347? For thereH369 isH369 noH369 oneH369 likeH3644 him on the earthH776, a blamelessH8535 and uprightH3477 manH376 4fearingH3372 GodH430 and turningH5493 awayH5493 from evilH7451. And he stillH5750 5holdsH2388 firmH2388 to his integrityH8538, although you incitedH5496 Me against him to 6ruinH1104 him withoutH2600 causeH2600.” 4SatanH7854 answeredH6030 the LordH3068 and saidH559, “SkinH5785 for skinH5785! Yes, allH3605 that a manH376 has, he will giveH5414 for his lifeH5315. 57HoweverH199, reachH7971 outH7971 with Your handH3027 nowH4994, and 8touchH5060 his boneH6106 and his fleshH1320; he will curseH1288 You to Your faceH6440!” 6So the LordH3068 saidH559 to SatanH7854, “BeholdH2009, he is in your 9powerH3027, onlyH389 spareH8104 his lifeH5315.”

7Then SatanH7854 wentH3318 outH3318 from the presenceH6440 of the LordH3068 and struckH5221 JobH347 with 10severeH7451 boilsH7822 from the soleH3709 of his footH7272 to the topH6936 ofH6936 his headH6936. 8And Job tookH3947 a pieceH2789 ofH2789 potteryH2789 to scrapeH1623 himself while 11he was sittingH3427 inH8432 the ashesH665.

9Then his wifeH802 saidH559 to him, “Do you stillH5750 holdH2388 firmH2388 your integrityH8538? CurseH1288 GodH430 and dieH4191!” 10But he saidH559 to her, “You are speakingH1696 as oneH259 of the foolishH5036 womenH5036 speaksH1696. 12Shall we actuallyH1571 acceptH6901 goodH2896 from GodH430 but not acceptH6901 adversityH7451?” 13Despite allH3605 thisH2088, JobH347 did not sinH2398 with his lipsH8193.

11Now when Job’sH347 threeH7969 friendsH7453 heardH8085 about allH3605 thisH2088 adversityH7463 that had comeH935 uponH935 him, they cameH935, eachH376 oneH376 from his own placeH4725--EliphazH464 the 14TemaniteH8489, BildadH1085 the 15ShuhiteH7747, and ZopharH6691 the NaamathiteH5284; and they madeH3259 anH3259 appointmentH3259 togetherH3164 to comeH935 to 16sympathizeH5110 with him and comfortH5162 him. 12When they 17lookedH5375H5869 from a distanceH7350 and did not recognizeH5234 him, they raisedH5375 their voicesH6963 and weptH1058. And eachH376 of them 18toreH7167 his robeH4598, and they 19threwH2236 dustH6083 overH5921 their headsH7218 toward the skyH8064. 1320Then they satH3427 downH3427 on the groundH776 with him for sevenH7651 daysH3117 and sevenH7651 nightsH3915, with noH369 oneH369 speakingH1696 a wordH1697 to him, for they sawH7200 that his painH3511 wasH1431 veryH3966 greatH1431.
