Genesis 19:17-29

17When they had broughtH3318 them outsideH2351, 1one saidH559, “2EscapeH4422 for your lifeH5315! 3Do not lookH5027 behindH310 you, and do not stayH5975 4anywhereH3605 in the 5surroundingH3603 areaH3603; escapeH4422 to 6the 7mountainsH2022, orH6435 you will be sweptH5595 awayH5595.” 18But LotH3876 saidH559 to them, “OhH4994 noH408, my lordsH136! 19NowH4994 beholdH2009, your servantH5650 has foundH4672 favorH2580 in your sightH5869, and you have magnifiedH1431 your compassionH2617, whichH834 you have shownH6213 me by savingH2421 my lifeH5315; but I cannotH3201H3808 escapeH4422 to the 8mountainsH2022, for the disasterH7463 will overtakeH1692 me and I will dieH4191; 20nowH4994 beholdH2009, thisH2088 townH5892 is nearH7138 enough to fleeH5127 to, and it is smallH4705. PleaseH4994, let me escapeH4422 thereH8033 (is it not smallH4705?) 9so that my lifeH5315 may be savedH2421.” 21And he saidH559 to him, “BeholdH2009, I grantH5375 you thisH2088 10requestH1697 alsoH1571, not to overthrowH2015 the townH5892 of whichH834 you have spokenH1696. 22HurryH4116, escapeH4422 thereH8033, for I cannotH3201H3808 doH6213 anythingH1697 untilH5704 you arriveH935 thereH8033.” ThereforeH5921H3651 the townH5892 was namedH7121H8034 1112ZoarH6820.

23The sunH8121 had risenH3318 overH5921 the earthH776 when LotH3876 cameH935 to ZoarH6820. 24Then the LordH3068 13rainedH4305 brimstoneH1614 and fireH784 on SodomH5467 and GomorrahH6017 from the LordH3068 out of heavenH8064, 25and 14He overthrewH2015 thoseH411 citiesH5892, and allH3605 the surroundingH3603 areaH3603, and allH3605 the inhabitantsH3427 of the citiesH5892, and whatH6780 grewH6780 on the groundH127. 26But 15Lot’s wifeH802, from behindH310 him, 16lookedH5027 back, and she becameH1961 a pillarH5333 of saltH4417.

27Now AbrahamH85 gotH7925 upH7925 earlyH7925 in the morningH1242 and went to 17the placeH4725 whereH834H8033 he had stoodH5975 beforeH6440 the LordH3068; 28and he lookedH8259 downH8259 towardH5921H6440 SodomH5467 and GomorrahH6017, and towardH5921H6440 allH3605 the landH776 of the surroundingH3603 areaH3603; and 18beholdH2009, he sawH7200 19the smokeH7008 of the landH776 ascendedH5927 like the smokeH7008 of a 20furnaceH3536.

29So it cameH1961 aboutH1961, when GodH430 destroyedH7843 the citiesH5892 of the surroundingH3603 areaH3603, that 21GodH430 rememberedH2142 AbrahamH85, and 22sentH7971 LotH3876 outH7971 of the midstH8432 of the destructionH2018, when He overthrewH2015 the citiesH5892 in whichH834 LotH3876 had livedH3427.
