Genesis 13:1-13
1So AbramH87 wentH5927 upH5927 from EgyptH4714 to 1the 2NegevH5045, he and his wifeH802 and allH3605 that belonged to him, and LotH3876 with him.
2Now AbramH87 was 3veryH3966 richH3515 in livestockH4735, silverH3701, and goldH2091. 3And he wentH1980 4on his journeysH4550 from the 5NegevH5045 as farH5704 as BethelH1008, to the placeH4725 whereH834H8033 his tentH168 had beenH1961 at the beginningH8462, 6betweenH996 BethelH1008 and AiH5857, 4to the placeH4725 of the 7altarH4196 whichH834 he had madeH6213 thereH8033 previouslyH7223; and thereH8033 AbramH87 calledH7121 on the nameH8034 of the LordH3068. 5Now 8LotH3876, who wentH1980 with AbramH87, alsoH1571 hadH1961 flocksH6629, herdsH1241, and tentsH168. 6And 9the landH776 could not 10supportH5375 both of them 11while livingH3427 togetherH3164, 12for their possessionsH7399 were so greatH7227 that they wereH3201 not ableH3201 to remainH3427 togetherH3164. 713And there was strifeH7379 betweenH996 the herdsmenH7462 of Abram’sH87 livestockH4735 and the herdsmenH7462 of Lot’sH3876 livestockH4735. Now 14the CanaanitesH3669 and the PerizzitesH6522 were livingH3427 in the landH776 atH227 thatH227 timeH227.
815So AbramH87 saidH559 to LotH3876, “PleaseH4994 let there be noH408 strifeH4808 betweenH996 you and me, nor betweenH996 my herdsmenH7462 and your herdsmenH7462, for we are relativesH251! 9Is the entireH3605 landH776 not beforeH6440 you? PleaseH4994 separateH6504 from me; ifH518 you choose the leftH8040, then I will goH3231 to the rightH3231; or ifH518 you choose the rightH3225, then I will goH8041 to the leftH8041.” 10LotH3876 raisedH5375 his eyesH5869 and sawH7200 allH3605 the 16vicinityH3603 of the 17JordanH3383, that it was wellH4945 wateredH4945 everywhereH3605--this was beforeH6440 the LordH3068 18destroyedH7843 SodomH5467 and GomorrahH6017--like 19the gardenH1588 of the LordH3068, 20like the landH776 of EgyptH4714 21goingH935 toward 22ZoarH6820. 11So LotH3876 choseH977 for himself allH3605 the 23vicinityH3603 of the JordanH3383, and LotH3876 journeyedH5265 eastwardH6924. So they separatedH6504 from eachH376 otherH251. 12AbramH87 24settledH3427 in the landH776 of CanaanH3667, while LotH3876 25settledH3427 in 26the citiesH5892 of the 27vicinityH3603 of the Jordan, and movedH167 his tentsH167 as farH5704 as SodomH5467. 13Now 28the menH376 of SodomH5467 were 29exceedinglyH3966 wickedH7451 30sinnersH2400 against the LordH3068.
