Exodus 2:15-22
15When PharaohH6547 heardH8085 about thisH2088 matterH1697, he triedH1245 to killH2026 MosesH4872. But 1MosesH4872 fledH1272 from the presenceH6440 of PharaohH6547 and 2settledH3427 in the landH776 of MidianH4080, and he satH3427 downH3427 3by a wellH875.
16Now 4the priestH3548 of MidianH4080 had sevenH7651 daughtersH1323; and 5they cameH935 to drawH1802 waterH1802 and filledH4390 the troughsH7298 to waterH8248 their father’sH1 flockH6629. 17Then the shepherdsH7462 cameH935 and droveH1644 them awayH1644, but 6MosesH4872 stoodH6965 upH6965 and helpedH3467 them and wateredH8248 their flockH6629. 18When they cameH935 to their fatherH1 7ReuelH7467, he saidH559, “WhyH4069 have you comeH935 back so soonH4116 todayH3117?” 19They saidH559, “An EgyptianH4713 savedH5337 us from 8the shepherdsH7462, and whatH1571 isH1571 moreH1571, he evenH1802 drewH1802 waterH1802 for us and wateredH8248 the flockH6629.” 20So he saidH559 to his daughtersH1323, “WhereH335 is he then? WhyH4100 is it that you have leftH5800 the manH376 behindH5800? InviteH7121 him 9to have somethingH3899 to eatH398.” 21And 10MosesH4872 wasH2974 willingH2974 to liveH3427 with the manH376. And he gaveH5414 his daughterH1323 11ZipporahH6855 to MosesH4872. 22Then she gaveH3205 birthH3205 to 12a sonH1121, and he namedH7121H8034 him 13GershomH1647, for he saidH559, “I have beenH1961 14a strangerH1616 in a foreignH5237 landH776.”
