Exodus 2:11-22
11Now it cameH1961 aboutH1961 in thoseH1992 daysH3117, 1when MosesH4872 had grownH1431 upH1431, that he wentH3318 outH3318 to his 2fellowH251 HebrewsH251 and lookedH7200 at their 34hardH5450 laborsH5450; and 5he sawH7200 an EgyptianH4713 beatingH5221 a HebrewH5680, oneH4480 of his 6fellowH251 HebrewsH251. 12So he 7lookedH6437 thisH3541 wayH3541 and thatH3541, and when he sawH7200 that thereH369 wasH369 noH369 oneH376 around, he 8struckH5221 andH5221 killedH5221 the EgyptianH4713, and hidH2934 9his body in the sandH2344. 13Now he wentH3318 outH3318 10the nextH8145 dayH3117, and beholdH2009, twoH8147 HebrewsH5680 were 11fightingH5327 with each other; and he saidH559 to the 12offenderH7563, “WhyH4100 are you strikingH5221 your companionH7453?” 14But he saidH559, “13WhoH4310 madeH7760 you a 14rulerH8269 and a judgeH8199 overH5921 us? Do you 15intendH559 to killH2026 me as you killedH2026 the EgyptianH4713?” Then MosesH4872 wasH3372 afraidH3372 and saidH559, “SurelyH403 the matterH1697 has become knownH3045!” 15When PharaohH6547 heardH8085 about thisH2088 matterH1697, he triedH1245 to killH2026 MosesH4872. But 16MosesH4872 fledH1272 from the presenceH6440 of PharaohH6547 and 17settledH3427 in the landH776 of MidianH4080, and he satH3427 downH3427 18by a wellH875.
16Now 19the priestH3548 of MidianH4080 had sevenH7651 daughtersH1323; and 20they cameH935 to drawH1802 waterH1802 and filledH4390 the troughsH7298 to waterH8248 their father’sH1 flockH6629. 17Then the shepherdsH7462 cameH935 and droveH1644 them awayH1644, but 21MosesH4872 stoodH6965 upH6965 and helpedH3467 them and wateredH8248 their flockH6629. 18When they cameH935 to their fatherH1 22ReuelH7467, he saidH559, “WhyH4069 have you comeH935 back so soonH4116 todayH3117?” 19They saidH559, “An EgyptianH4713 savedH5337 us from 23the shepherdsH7462, and whatH1571 isH1571 moreH1571, he evenH1802 drewH1802 waterH1802 for us and wateredH8248 the flockH6629.” 20So he saidH559 to his daughtersH1323, “WhereH335 is he then? WhyH4100 is it that you have leftH5800 the manH376 behindH5800? InviteH7121 him 24to have somethingH3899 to eatH398.” 21And 25MosesH4872 wasH2974 willingH2974 to liveH3427 with the manH376. And he gaveH5414 his daughterH1323 26ZipporahH6855 to MosesH4872. 22Then she gaveH3205 birthH3205 to 27a sonH1121, and he namedH7121H8034 him 28GershomH1647, for he saidH559, “I have beenH1961 29a strangerH1616 in a foreignH5237 landH776.”
