Exodus 13:11-21
11“Now whenH3588 1the LordH3068 bringsH935 you to the landH776 of the CanaaniteH3669, as 2He sworeH7650 to you and to your fathersH1, and givesH5414 it to you, 123you shall 4devoteH5674 to the LordH3068 everyH3605 firstbornH6363 of a wombH7358, and everyH3605 firstbornH6363 offspringH7698 of an animalH929 that you ownH1961; the malesH2145 belong to the LordH3068. 13But 5everyH3605 firstbornH6363 of a donkeyH2543 you shall redeemH6299 with a lambH7716, but ifH518 you do not redeemH6299 it, then you shall breakH6202 its neckH6202; and 6everyH3605 7firstbornH1060 among your sonsH1121 you shall redeemH6299. 148And it shall be whenH3588 your sonH1121 asksH7592 you inH4279 timeH4279 toH4279 comeH4279, sayingH559, ‘WhatH4100 is thisH2088?’ then you shall sayH559 to him, ‘9With 10a powerfulH2392 handH3027 the LordH3068 broughtH3318 us outH3318 of EgyptH4714, from the houseH1004 of 11slaveryH5650. 15And it cameH1961 aboutH1961, whenH3588 PharaohH6547 wasH7185 stubbornH7185 about lettingH7971 us goH7971, that the 12LordH3068 putH2026 toH2026 deathH2026 everyH3605 firstbornH1060 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, from humanH120 firstbornsH1060 to animalH929 firstbornsH1060. ThereforeH5921H3651, I sacrificeH2076 to the LordH3068 the malesH2145, everyH3605 firstbornH1060 of a wombH7358, but everyH3605 firstbornH1060 of my sonsH1121 I redeemH6299.’ 16So 13it shall 14serveH1961 as a signH226 on your handH3027 and as 15phylacteriesH2903 16on your foreheadH996H5869, for with 17a powerfulH2392 handH3027 the LordH3068 broughtH3318 us outH3318 of EgyptH4714.”
17Now when PharaohH6547 had letH7971 the peopleH5971 goH7971, GodH430 did not leadH5148 them by the wayH1870 of the landH776 of the PhilistinesH6430, evenH3588 thoughH3588 it was nearH7138; for GodH430 saidH559, “18The peopleH5971 mightH6435 changeH5162 their mindsH5162 when they seeH7200 warH4421, and returnH7725 to EgyptH4714.” 18Therefore GodH430 ledH5437 the peopleH5971 aroundH5437 by wayH1870 of the wildernessH4057 to the 19RedH5488 SeaH3220; and the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 wentH5927 upH5927 20in battleH2571 formationH2571 from the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 19And MosesH4872 tookH3947 21the bonesH6106 of JosephH3130 with him, for he had made the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 solemnlyH7650 swearH7650, sayingH559, “GodH430 will certainlyH6485 22takeH6485 careH6485 ofH6485 you, and you shall carryH5927 my bonesH6106 from hereH2088 with you.” 20Then they setH5265 outH5265 from 23SuccothH5523 and campedH2583 in EthamH864, on the edgeH7097 of the wildernessH4057. 21And 24the LordH3068 was goingH1980 beforeH6440 them in a pillarH5982 of cloudH6051 by dayH3119 to leadH5148 them on the wayH1870, and in a pillarH5982 of fireH784 by nightH3915 to giveH215 them lightH215, so that they might 25travelH1980 by dayH3119 and by nightH3915.
