Deuteronomy 28:45-68

45“So allH3605 theseH428 cursesH7045 shall comeH935 upon you and pursueH7291 you and overtakeH5381 you 1untilH5704 you are destroyedH8045, becauseH3588 you would not 2obeyH8085H6963 the LordH3068 your GodH430 by keepingH8104 His commandmentsH4687 and His statutesH2708 whichH834 He commandedH6680 you. 46And they will becomeH1961 3a signH226 and a wonderH4159 4against you and your 5descendantsH2233 foreverH5704H5769.

47“6SinceH8478H834 you did not serveH5647 the LordH3068 your GodH430 with joyH8057 and a cheerfulH2898 heartH3824, in gratitude for the abundanceH7230 of allH3605 things, 48you will serveH5647 your enemiesH340 whomH834 the LordH3068 will sendH7971 against you, 7in hungerH7458, thirstH6772, nakednessH5903, and devoidH2640 of allH3605 things; and He 8will putH5414 an ironH1270 yokeH5923 on your neckH6677 untilH5704 He has destroyedH8045 you.

49“9The LordH3068 will bringH5375 a nationH1471 againstH5921 you from farH7350 awayH7350, from the endH7097 of the earthH776, 10as the eagleH5404 swoopsH1675 downH1675; a nationH1471 whoseH834 languageH3956 you will not understandH8085, 50a nationH1471 11with a defiantH5794 attitudeH6440, whoH834 will 12haveH5375 noH3808 respectH6440 for the oldH2205, norH3808 showH2603 favorH2603 to the youngH5288. 51Furthermore, it will eatH398 the 13offspringH6529 of your herdH929 and the produceH6529 of your groundH127 untilH5704 you are destroyedH8045; a nation that will leaveH7604 you noH3808 grainH1715, newH8492 wineH8492, or oilH3323, norH3808 the newbornH7698 of your cattleH504 or the youngH6251 of your flockH6629, untilH5704 they have eliminatedH6 you. 5214And it will besiegeH6887 you in allH3605 your 15townsH8179 untilH5704 your highH1364 and fortifiedH1219 wallsH2346 in whichH834 you trustedH982 comeH3381 downH3381 throughoutH3605 your landH776, and it will besiegeH6887 you in allH3605 your 16townsH8179 throughoutH3605 your landH776 whichH834 the LordH3068 your GodH430 has givenH5414 you. 5317Then you will eatH398 the 18offspringH6529 of your own bodyH990, the fleshH1320 of your sonsH1121 and of your daughtersH1323 whomH834 the LordH3068 your GodH430 has givenH5414 you, during the siegeH4692 and the hardshipH4689 by whichH834 your enemyH340 will 19oppressH6693 you. 54The manH376 who is 20refinedH7390 and veryH3966 delicateH6028 among you 21will be hostileH7489 toward his brotherH251, toward the wifeH802 22he cherishesH2436, and toward the restH3499 of his childrenH1121 whoH834 are leftH3498, 55soH4480 thatH4480 he will notH4480 giveH5414 even oneH259 of them anyH4480 of the fleshH1320 of his childrenH1121 whichH834 he will eatH398, sinceH4480 he has nothingH1097H3605 else leftH7604, during the siegeH4692 and the hardshipH4689 by whichH834 your enemyH340 will 23oppressH6693 you in allH3605 your 24townsH8179. 5625The 26refinedH7390 and delicateH6028 womanH6028 among you, whoH834 would not ventureH5254 to setH3322 the soleH3709 of her footH7272 on the groundH776 becauseH4480 of her delicatenessH6026 and tendernessH7391, 27will be hostileH7489 toward the husbandH376 28she cherishesH2436 and toward her sonH1121 and daughterH1323, 57and toward her afterbirthH7988 that comesH3318 from betweenH996 her 29legsH7272, and toward her childrenH1121 to whomH834 she givesH3205 birthH3205, becauseH3588 30she will eatH398 them secretlyH5643 for lackH2640 of anythingH3605 else, during the siegeH4692 and the hardshipH4689 with whichH834 your enemyH340 will 31oppressH6693 you in your 32townsH8179.

58“IfH518 you areH8104 not carefulH8104 to 33followH6213 allH3605 the wordsH1697 of thisH2088 LawH8451 that are writtenH3789 in thisH2088 bookH5612, to 3435fearH3372 thisH2088 honoredH3513 and awesomeH3372 36nameH8034, 37the LordH3068 your GodH430, 59then the LordH3068 will bringH6381 extraordinaryH6381 plaguesH4347 on you and 38your descendantsH2233, 39severeH1419 and lastingH539 plaguesH4347, and miserableH7451 and chronicH539 sicknessesH2483. 6040And He will bringH7725 backH7725 on you everyH3605 diseaseH4064 of EgyptH4714 of whichH834 you were afraidH3025, and they will clingH1692 to you. 61AlsoH1571 everyH3605 sicknessH2483 and everyH3605 plagueH4347, whichH834 are not writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of thisH2088 LawH8451, the LordH3068 will bringH5927 on you 41untilH5704 you are destroyedH8045. 62Then you will be leftH7604 fewH4592 in 42numberH4962, 43whereasH8478H834 you were as numerousH7230 as the starsH3556 of heavenH8064, becauseH3588 you did not 44obeyH8085H6963 the LordH3068 your GodH430. 63And it will comeH1961 aboutH1961 that, justH3512 asH3512 the LordH3068 45rejoicedH7797 overH5921 you to beH3190 goodH3190 to you, and makeH7235 you numerousH7235, soH3651 will the LordH3068 46rejoiceH7797 overH5921 you to wipeH6 you outH6 and destroyH8045 you; and you will be 47tornH5255 awayH5255 from the landH127 whichH834H8033 you are enteringH935 to possessH3423. 64Furthermore, the LordH3068 will 48scatterH6327 you among allH3605 the peoplesH5971, from one endH7097 of the earthH776 to 49the other; and thereH8033 you will 50serveH5647 otherH312 godsH430, made of woodH6086 and stoneH68, whichH834 you and your fathersH1 have not knownH3045. 6551Among thoseH1992 nationsH1471 you will findH7280 noH3808 peaceH7280, and there will be noH3808 restingH4494 placeH4494 for the soleH3709 of your footH7272; but thereH8033 52the LordH3068 will giveH5414 you a tremblingH7268 heartH3820, failingH3631 of eyesH5869, and despairH1671 of soulH5315. 66So your livesH2425 will be 53hangingH8511 in doubt before you; and you will be terrifiedH6342 nightH3915 and dayH3119, and haveH539 noH3808 assuranceH539 of your lifeH2425. 6754In the morningH1242 you will sayH559, ‘IfH4310H5414 onlyH4310H5414 it were eveningH6153!’ And at eveningH6153 you will sayH559, ‘IfH4310H5414 onlyH4310H5414 it were morningH1242!’ becauseH4480 of the terrorH6343 of your heartH3824 whichH834 you fearH6342, and the sightH4758 of your eyesH5869 whichH834 you will seeH7200. 68And the LordH3068 will bringH7725 you backH7725 to EgyptH4714 in shipsH591, by the wayH1870 about whichH834 I saidH559 to you, ‘You will neverH3808 seeH7200 it againH3254!’ And thereH8033 you will offerH4376 yourselves forH4376 saleH4376 to your enemiesH340 as maleH5650 and femaleH8198 slavesH8198H5650, but thereH369 willH369 beH369 noH369 buyerH7069.”
