2 Kings 1:9-18
9Then the king 1sentH7971 to him a captainH8269 of fiftyH2572 with his fiftyH2572 men. And he wentH5927 upH5927 to him, and beholdH2009, he was sittingH3427 on the topH7218 of the hillH2022. And he saidH1696 to him, “You manH376 of GodH430, the kingH4428 saysH1696, ‘ComeH3381 downH3381.’” 10But ElijahH452 repliedH6030 to the captainH8269 of fiftyH2572, “IfH518 I am a manH376 of GodH430, 2may fireH784 comeH3381 downH3381 from heavenH8064 and consumeH398 you and your fiftyH2572.” 3Then fireH784 cameH3381 downH3381 from heavenH8064 and consumedH398 him and his fiftyH2572 men.
11So the king againH7725 sentH7971 to him anotherH312 captainH8269 of fiftyH2572 with his fiftyH2572 men. And he saidH1696 to him, “You manH376 of GodH430, thisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the kingH4428 saysH559: ‘ComeH3381 downH3381 quicklyH4120!’” 12But ElijahH452 repliedH6030 to them, “IfH518 I am a manH376 of GodH430, may fireH784 comeH3381 downH3381 from heavenH8064 and consumeH398 you and your fiftyH2572.” Then the fireH784 of GodH430 cameH3381 downH3381 from heavenH8064 and consumedH398 him and his fiftyH2572 men.
13So the king 4againH7725 sentH7971 the captainH8269 of a thirdH7992 fiftyH2572 with his fiftyH2572 men. When the thirdH7992 captainH8269 of fiftyH2572 wentH5927 upH5927, he cameH935 and bowedH3766 downH3766 on his kneesH1290 beforeH5048 ElijahH452, and beggedH2603 him and saidH1696 to him, “You manH376 of GodH430, pleaseH4994 let my lifeH5315 and the livesH5315 of theseH428 fiftyH2572 servantsH5650 of yours beH3365 preciousH3365 in your sightH5869. 14BeholdH2009, fireH784 cameH3381 downH3381 from heavenH8064 and consumedH398 the firstH7223 twoH8147 captainsH8269 of fiftyH2572 with their fiftiesH2572; but nowH6258 let my 5lifeH5315 beH3365 preciousH3365 in your sightH5869.” 15And 6the angelH4397 of the LordH3068 saidH1696 to ElijahH452, “GoH3381 downH3381 with him; 7do not beH3372 afraidH3372 of him.” So he gotH6965 upH6965 and wentH3381 downH3381 with him to the kingH4428. 16Then he saidH1696 to him, “ThisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH3068 saysH559: ‘SinceH3282H834 you have sentH7971 messengersH4397 8to inquireH1875 of Baal-zebubH1176, the godH430 of EkronH6138--is it becauseH4480H1097 thereH369 isH369 noH369 GodH430 in IsraelH3478 to inquireH1875 of His wordH1697? ThereforeH3651 9you will not getH3381 downH3381 from the bedH4296 upon whichH834 you have lainH5927, but you shall certainlyH4191 dieH4191.’”
17So Ahaziah diedH4191 in accordance with the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 whichH834 ElijahH452 had spokenH1696. And sinceH3588 he hadH1961 noH3808 sonH1121, JehoramH3088 becameH4427 kingH4427 inH8478 his placeH8478 10in the secondH8147 yearH8141 of JehoramH3088 the sonH1121 of JehoshaphatH3092, kingH4428 of JudahH3063. 18Now as for the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of AhaziahH274 whichH834 he didH6213, are they not writtenH3789 in the BookH5612 of the ChroniclesH1697H3117 of the KingsH4428 of IsraelH3478?
