4Then Gideonגִדְע֖וֹןgid.'onH1439and the threeוּשְׁלֹשׁ־u.she.losh-H7969hundredמֵא֤וֹתme.'otH3967menהָאִישׁ֙ha.'IshH376whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834were with him cameוַיָּבֹ֥אvai.ya.Vo'H935to the Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֑נָהhai.yar.De.nahH3383andcrossedH5674overH5674,exhaustedעֲיֵפִ֖ים'a.ye.FimH5889yet stillpursuingוְרֹדְפִֽים׃ve.ro.de.FimH7291.

5And he saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559to the menH376ofSuccothסֻכּ֔וֹתsu.KotH5523, “Pleaseנָא֙na'H4994giveתְּנוּ־te.nu-H5414loavesכִּכְּר֣וֹתki.ke.RotH3603of breadלֶ֔חֶםLe.chemH3899to the peopleלָעָ֖םla.'AmH5971whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834arefollowingבְּרַגְלָ֑יbe.rag.LaiH7272me, for they are exhaustedעֲיֵפִ֣ים'a.ye.FimH5889,and I am pursuingרֹדֵ֛ף אַחֲרֵ֛יro.Def 'a.cha.ReiH7291 H310Zebahזֶ֥בַחZe.vachH2078and Zalmunnaוְצַלְמֻנָּ֖עve.tzal.mu.Na'H6759,the kingsמַלְכֵ֥יmal.KheiH4428of Midianמִדְיָֽן׃mid.YanH4080.”

6But the leadersשָׂרֵ֣יsa.ReiH8269of Succothסֻכּ֔וֹתsu.KotH5523saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “Are the handsהֲ֠כַףHa.khafH3709of Zebahזֶ֧בַחZe.vachH2078and Zalmunnaוְצַלְמֻנָּ֛עve.tzal.mu.Na'H6759alreadyעַתָּ֖ה'a.TahH6258in your handבְּיָדֶ֑ךָbe.ya.De.khaH3027,that we should giveנִתֵּ֥ןni.TenH5414breadלָֽחֶם׃La.chemH3899to your armyלִֽצְבָאֲךָ֖litz.va.'a.KhaH6635?”

7So Gideonגִּדְע֔וֹןgid.'onH1439saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “For thisלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651answer,when the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068has handedבְּיָדִ֑יbe.ya.DiH5414 H3027overH5414to me Zebahזֶ֥בַחZe.vachH2078and Zalmunnaצַלְמֻנָּ֖עtzal.mu.Na'H6759, I willthrashוְדַשְׁתִּי֙ve.dash.TiH1758yourbodiesבְּשַׂרְכֶ֔םbe.sar.KhemH1320with the thornsקוֹצֵ֥יko.TzeiH6975of the wildernessהַמִּדְבָּ֖רha.mid.BarH4057and with briersהַֽבַּרְקֳנִֽים׃Ha.bar.ko.NimH1303.”

8Then he wentH5927upH5927from thereמִשָּׁם֙mi.ShamH8033toPenuelפְּנוּאֵ֔לpe.nu.'ElH6439and spokeוַיְדַבֵּ֥רvay.da.BerH1696similarlyH2088to them; and the menH376of Penuelפְנוּאֵ֔לfe.nu.'ElH6439answeredוַיַּעֲנ֤וּvai.ya.'a.NuH6030him justH3512asH3512the menH376of Succothסֻכּֽוֹת׃su.KotH5523had answeredעָנ֖וּ'a.NuH6030.

9So he saidH559alsoגַּם־gam-H1571to the menH376ofPenuelפְנוּאֵ֖לfe.nu.'ElH6439, “When I returnבְּשׁוּבִ֣יbe.shu.ViH7725safelyבְשָׁל֔וֹםve.sha.LomH7965,I will tearאֶתֹּ֖ץ'e.TotzH5422downH5422thisהַזֶּֽה׃ פha.ZehH2088towerהַמִּגְדָּ֥לha.mig.DalH4026.”

10Now Zebahוְזֶ֨בַחve.Ze.vachH2078and Zalmunnaוְצַלְמֻנָּ֜עve.tzal.mu.Na'H6759were in Karkorבַּקַּרְקֹ֗רba.kar.KorH7174, and theirarmiesוּמַחֲנֵיהֶ֤םu.ma.cha.nei.HemH4264with them, about fifteenכַּחֲמֵ֤שֶׁת עָשָׂר֙ka.cha.Me.shet 'a.SarH2568 H6240thousandאֶ֔לֶף'E.lefH505men, allכֹּ֚לkolH3605who were leftהַנּ֣וֹתָרִ֔יםha.No.ta.RimH3498of the entireמִכֹּ֖לmi.KolH3605armyמַחֲנֵ֣הma.cha.NehH4264of thepeopleבְנֵי־ve.nei-H1121of the eastקֶ֑דֶםKe.demH6924;for the fallenוְהַנֹּ֣פְלִ֔יםve.ha.No.fe.LimH5307were 120,000מֵאָ֨ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים אֶ֛לֶףme.'Ah ve.'es.Rim 'E.lefH3967 H6242 H505swordsmenאִ֖ישׁ שֹׁ֥לֵֽף חָֽרֶב׃'ish Sho.lef Cha.revH376 H8025 H2719.
