31When the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Benjaminבִנְיָמִן֙vin.ya.MinH1144wentH3318outH3318againstלִקְרַ֣אתlik.RatH7122the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971,they were luredH5423awayהָנְתְּק֖וּha.ne.te.KuH5423from the cityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892,and they beganH2490to strikeלְהַכּוֹת֩le.ha.kOtH5221andH5221killH5221H2490someמִן־min-H4480of the peopleמֵהָעָ֨םme.ha.'AmH5971as at otherכְּפַ֣עַם׀ke.Fa.'amH6471timesבְּפַ֗עַםbe.Fa.'amH6471,on the roadsבַּֽמְסִלּוֹת֙bam.si.lOtH4546(oneאַחַ֜ת'a.ChatH259of whichאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834goesH5927upH5927to BethelH1008,and the otherוְאַחַ֤תve.'a.ChatH259to Gibeahגִּבְעָ֙תָה֙giv.'A.tahH1390), andin the fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֔הba.sa.DehH7704,about thirtyכִּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥יםkish.lo.ShimH7970menאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376of Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃be.Yis.ra.'ElH3478.
32And the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Benjaminבִנְיָמִ֔ןvin.ya.MinH1144saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559, “They are defeatedנִגָּפִ֥יםni.ga.FimH5062beforeלְפָנֵ֖ינוּle.fa.Nei.nuH6440us, like the firstH7223timeכְּבָרִאשֹׁנָ֑הke.va.ri.sho.NahH7223.”But the sonsוּבְנֵ֧יu.ve.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֣לYis.ra.'ElH3478saidאָמְר֗וּ'a.me.RuH559, “Let’s fleeנָנ֙וּסָה֙na.Nu.sahH5127,so that we may drawH5423them awayוּֽנְתַקְּנֻ֔הוּu.ne.ta.ke.Nu.huH5423from the cityהָעִ֖ירha.'IrH5892to the roadsהַֽמְסִלּֽוֹת׃Ham.si.LotH4546.”
33Then allוְכֹ֣ל׀ve.KholH3605the menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478roseקָ֚מוּKa.muH6965from their placeמִמְּקוֹמ֔וֹmi.me.ko.MoH4725and linedH6186upH6186at Baal-tamarH1193;and the men of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478inH693ambushH693chargedמֵגִ֥יחַme.Gi.achH1518from their placeמִמְּקֹמ֖וֹmi.me.ko.MoH4725,from Maareh-gebaגָֽבַע׃Ga.va'H4626H1387.
34When tenעֲשֶׂרֶת֩'a.se.RetH6235thousandאֲלָפִ֨ים'a.la.FimH505choiceבָּחוּר֙ba.ChurH977menאִ֤ישׁ'ishH376from allמִכָּל־mi.kolH3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478cameוַיָּבֹאוּ֩vai.ya.vo.'UH935againstמִנֶּ֨גֶדmi.Ne.gedH5048Gibeahלַגִּבְעָ֜הla.giv.'AhH1390,the battleוְהַמִּלְחָמָ֖הve.ha.mil.cha.MahH4421becameH3513fierceH3513; butBenjamin did not knowיָדְע֔וּya.de.'UH3045that disasterH7463wascloseנֹגַ֥עַתno.Ga.'atH5060to them.
