5I raisedוָאֶשָּׂ֤אva.'e.Sa'H5375my eyesעֵינַי֙'ei.NaiH5869and lookedוָאֵ֔רֶאva.'E.re'H7200,and beholdוְהִנֵּ֥הve.hi.NehH2009,there was a manאִישׁ־'ish-H376dressedלָב֣וּשׁla.VushH3847in linenבַּדִּ֑יםba.DimH906,whose waistוּמָתְנָ֥יוu.ma.te.NavH4975hadH2296aH2296beltH2296of pureH3800goldבְּכֶ֥תֶםbe.Khe.temH3800of Uphazאוּפָֽז׃'u.FazH210.

6His bodyוּגְוִיָּת֣וֹu.ge.vi.ya.ToH1472also waslike topazכְתַרְשִׁ֗ישׁkhe.tar.ShishH8658,his faceוּפָנָ֞יוu.fa.NavH6440had the appearanceכְּמַרְאֵ֤הke.mar.'EhH4758of lightningבָרָק֙va.RakH1300,his eyesוְעֵינָיו֙ve.'ei.NavH5869were like flamingאֵ֔שׁ'EshH784torchesכְּלַפִּ֣ידֵיke.la.Pi.deiH3940,his armsוּזְרֹֽעֹתָיו֙u.ze.ro.'o.TavH2220and feetוּמַרְגְּלֹתָ֔יוu.mar.ge.lo.TavH4772like the gleamכְּעֵ֖יןke.'EinH5869of polishedקָלָ֑לka.LalH7044bronzeנְחֹ֣שֶׁתne.Cho.shetH5178,and the soundוְק֥וֹלve.KolH6963of his wordsדְּבָרָ֖יוde.va.RavH1697like the soundכְּק֥וֹלke.KolH6963of a multitudeהָמֽוֹן׃ha.MonH1995.

7Now I, Danielדָנִיֵּ֤אלda.ni.YelH1840,aloneלְבַדִּי֙le.va.DiH905sawוְרָאִיתִי֩ve.ra.'i.TiH7200the visionהַמַּרְאָ֔הha.mar.'AhH4759, while themenH376whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834were with me did not seeרָא֖וּra.'UH7200the visionהַמַּרְאָ֑הha.mar.'AhH4759;neverthelessאֲבָ֗ל'a.ValH61,a greatגְדֹלָה֙ge.do.LahH1419fearחֲרָדָ֤הcha.ra.DahH2731fellנָפְלָ֣הna.fe.LahH5307on them, and they ranH1272awayH1272to hideבְּהֵחָבֵֽא׃be.he.cha.Ve'H2244themselves.

8So I wasleftנִשְׁאַ֣רְתִּיnish.'Ar.tiH7604aloneלְבַדִּ֔יle.va.DiH905and sawוָֽאֶרְאֶ֗הva.'er.'EhH7200thisH2088greatהַגְּדֹלָה֙ha.ge.do.LahH1419visionהַמַּרְאָ֤הha.mar.'AhH4759; yetnoוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808strengthכֹּ֑חKochH3581was leftנִשְׁאַר־nish.'ar-H7604in me, for my complexionוְהוֹדִ֗יve.ho.DiH1935turnedנֶהְפַּ֤ךְneh.PakhH2015toa deathlyH4889pallorH4889,and I retainedעָצַ֖רְתִּי'a.Tzar.tiH6113noוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808strengthכֹּֽחַ׃Ko.achH3581.

9But I heardוָאֶשְׁמַ֖עva.'esh.Ma'H8085the soundק֣וֹלKolH6963of his wordsדְּבָרָ֑יוde.va.RavH1697;and as soon as I heardוּכְשָׁמְעִי֙u.khe.sha.me.'IH8085the soundק֣וֹלKolH6963of his wordsדְּבָרָ֔יוde.va.RavH1697, IfellH7290intoH7290a deepH7290sleepH7290on my faceפָּנַ֖יpa.NaiH6440,with my faceוּפָנַ֥יu.fa.NaiH6440to the groundאָֽרְצָה׃'A.re.tzahH776.

10Then beholdוְהִנֵּה־ve.hi.neh-H2009,a handיָ֖דyadH3027touchedנָ֣גְעָהNa.ge.'ahH5060me and shookוַתְּנִיעֵ֥נִיva.te.ni.'E.niH5128me on myhandsוְכַפּ֥וֹת יָדָֽי׃ve.kha.Pot ya.DaiH3709 H3027and kneesבִּרְכַּ֖יbir.KaiH1290.

11And he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “Danielדָּנִיֵּ֣אלda.ni.YelH1840,you whoאִישׁ־'ish-H376are treasuredH2536,understandהָבֵ֨ןha.VenH995the wordsבַּדְּבָרִ֜יםba.de.va.RimH1697that I am about to tellדֹבֵ֤רdo.VerH1696you andstandוַעֲמֹ֣דva.'a.ModH5975at your placeעָמְדֶ֔ךָ'a.me.De.khaH5977,for I have nowעַתָּ֖ה'a.TahH6258been sentשֻׁלַּ֣חְתִּיshu.Lach.tiH7971to you.” And when he had spokenוּבְדַבְּר֥וֹu.ve.da.be.RoH1696thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088wordהַדָּבָ֥רha.da.VarH1697to me, I stoodעָמַ֥דְתִּי'a.Mad.tiH5975uptremblingמַרְעִֽיד׃mar.'IdH7460.

12Then he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “Do not beH3372afraidH3372,Danielדָנִיֵּאל֒da.ni.yeLH1840,for from the firstהָרִאשׁ֗וֹןha.ri.ShonH7223dayהַיּ֣וֹםhai.YomH3117that you setנָתַ֧תָּna.Ta.taH5414your heartלִבְּךָ֛li.be.KhaH3820on understandingלְהָבִ֧יןle.ha.VinH995this and onhumblingוּלְהִתְעַנּ֛וֹתu.le.hit.'a.NotH6031yourself beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440your Godאֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430,your wordsדְבָרֶ֑יךָde.va.Rei.khaH1697were heardנִשְׁמְע֣וּnish.me.'UH8085,and I have comeבָ֖אתִיVa.tiH935in response toyour wordsבִּדְבָרֶֽיךָ׃bid.va.Rei.khaH1697.

13But the princeוְשַׂ֣ר׀ve.SarH8269of the kingdomמַלְכ֣וּתmal.KhutH4438of Persiaפָּרַ֗סpa.RasH6539was standingעֹמֵ֤ד'o.MedH5975in my wayלְנֶגְדִּי֙le.neg.DiH5048for twenty-oneעֶשְׂרִ֣ים וְאֶחָ֣ד'es.Rim ve.'e.ChadH6242 H259daysי֔וֹםYomH3117;then beholdוְהִנֵּ֣הve.hi.NehH2009,Michaelמִֽיכָאֵ֗לmi.kha.'ElH4317,oneאַחַ֛ד'a.ChadH259of the chiefהָרִאשֹׁנִ֖יםha.ri.sho.NimH7223princesהַשָּׂרִ֥יםha.sa.RimH8269,cameבָּ֣אba'H935to helpלְעָזְרֵ֑נִיle.'a.ze.Re.niH5826me, for I had been leftנוֹתַ֣רְתִּיno.Tar.tiH3498thereשָׁ֔םShamH8033with the kingsמַלְכֵ֥יmal.KheiH4428of Persiaפָרָֽס׃fa.RasH6539.

14Now I have comeוּבָ֙אתִי֙u.Va.tiH935toexplainלַהֲבִ֣ינְךָ֔la.ha.Vi.ne.khaH995to you whatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834will happenיִקְרָ֥הyik.RahH7136to your peopleלְעַמְּךָ֖le.'a.me.KhaH5971in thelatterבְּאַחֲרִ֣יתbe.'a.cha.RitH319daysהַיָּמִ֑יםhai.ya.MimH3117,becauseכִּי־ki-H3588the visionחָז֖וֹןcha.ZonH2377pertains tothe daysלַיָּמִֽים׃lai.ya.MimH3117stillע֥וֹדodH5750future.”

15When he had spokenוּבְדַבְּר֣וֹu.ve.da.be.RoH1696to me according to theseהָאֵ֑לֶּהha.'E.lehH428wordsכַּדְּבָרִ֖יםka.de.va.RimH1697, Iturnedנָתַ֧תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414my faceפָנַ֛יfa.NaiH6440toward the groundאַ֖רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776and becameH481speechlessH481.

17Forhowוְהֵ֣יךְve.HeikhH1963canיוּכַ֗לyu.KhalH3201suchזֶ֔הZehH2088a servantעֶ֤בֶד'E.vedH5650of my lordאֲדֹנִי֙'a.do.NiH113talkלְדַבֵּ֖רle.da.BerH1696with suchזֶ֑הZehH2088as my lordאֲדֹ֣נִי'a.Do.niH113?As for me, there remainsיַעֲמָד־ya.'a.mod-H5975just nowמֵעַ֙תָּה֙me.'A.tahH6258noלֹֽא־lo'-H3808strengthכֹ֔חַKho.achH3581in me, norלֹ֥אlo'H3808has any breathוּנְשָׁמָ֖הu.ne.sha.MahH5397been leftנִשְׁאֲרָה־nish.'a.rah-H7604in me.”

18Then thisone with humanאָדָ֖ם'a.DamH120appearanceכְּמַרְאֵ֥הke.mar.'EhH4758touchedוַיִּגַּע־vai.yi.ga'-H5060me againוַיֹּ֧סֶףvai.Yo.sefH3254andstrengthenedוַֽיְחַזְּקֵֽנִי׃Vay.cha.ze.Ke.niH2388me.

19And he saidוַיֹּ֜אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “You whoאִישׁ־'ish-H376are treasuredH2536,do not beH3372afraidH3372.Peaceשָׁל֥וֹםsha.LomH7965beto you; takeH2388courageH2388and beH2388courageousH2388!”Now as soon as he spokeוּֽבְדַבְּר֤וֹu.be.da.be.RoH1696to me, I feltH2388strengthenedH2388and saidוָאֹֽמְרָ֛הva.'O.me.RahH559, “May my lordאֲדֹנִ֖י'a.do.NiH113speakיְדַבֵּ֥רye.da.BerH1696, for you havestrengthenedH2388me.”

20Then he saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Do youunderstandהֲיָדַ֙עְתָּ֙ha.ya.Da'.taH3045whyלָמָּה־la.mah-H4100I cameבָּ֣אתִיBa.tiH935to you? But I shall nowוְעַתָּ֣הve.'a.TahH6258returnאָשׁ֔וּב'a.ShuvH7725to fightלְהִלָּחֵ֖םle.hi.la.ChemH3898againstעִם־'im-H5973the princeשַׂ֣רsarH8269of Persiaפָּרָ֑סpa.RasH6539;so I am leavingיוֹצֵ֔אyo.Tze'H3318,and beholdוְהִנֵּ֥הve.hi.NehH2009, theprinceשַׂר־sar-H8269ofGreeceיָוָ֖ןya.VanH3120is about to comeבָּֽא׃Ba'H935.
