13He broughtH5927upH5927from thereמִשָּׁם֙mi.ShamH8033the bonesעַצְמ֣וֹתatz.MotH6106of Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586and the bonesעַצְמ֖וֹתatz.MotH6106of his sonבְּנ֑וֹbe.NoH1121Jonathanיְהוֹנָתָ֣ןye.ho.na.TanH3083,and they gatheredוַיַּ֣אַסְפ֔וּvai.Ya.'as.FuH622the bonesעַצְמ֖וֹתatz.MotH6106of those who had beenhangedהַמּוּקָעִֽים׃ha.mu.ka.'ImH3363.

15Now whenthe Philistinesלַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖יםla.pe.lish.TimH6430were at warמִלְחָמָ֛הmil.cha.MahH4421with Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478againע֧וֹדodH5750,Davidדָּוִ֜דda.VidH1732wentH3381downוַיֵּ֨רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381,and his servantsוַעֲבָדָ֥יוva.'a.va.DavH5650with him; and when they foughtוַיִּלָּחֲמ֥וּvai.yi.la.cha.MuH3898againstH854the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖יםpe.lish.TimH6430,Davidדָּוִֽד׃da.VidH1732becameH5888wearyוַיָּ֥עַףvai.Ya.'afH5888.

16Then Ishbi-benobH3430,whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר׀'a.SherH834wasamong the descendantsבִּילִידֵ֣יbi.li.DeiH3211of thegiantH7498,the weightוּמִשְׁקַ֤לu.mish.KalH4948of whose spearקֵינוֹ֙kei.NoH7013wasthreeשְׁלֹ֤שׁshe.LoshH7969hundredמֵאוֹת֙me.'OtH3967shekelsof bronzeנְחֹ֔שֶׁתne.Cho.shetH5178in weightמִשְׁקַ֣לmish.KalH4948,had strappedH2296onH2296a newחֲדָשָׁ֑הcha.da.ShahH2319sword, and heintendedוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to killלְהַכּ֥וֹתle.ha.KotH5221Davidדָּוִֽד׃da.VidH1732.

17ButAbishaiאֲבִישַׁ֣י'a.vi.ShaiH52the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Zeruiahצְרוּיָ֔הtze.ru.YahH6870helpedוַיַּֽעֲזָר־vai.ya.'a.zor-H5826him, and struckוַיַּ֥ךְvai.YakhH5221the Philistineהַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖יha.pe.lish.TiH6430and killedוַיְמִיתֵ֑הוּvay.mi.Te.huH4191him. Thenאָ֣ז'azH227David’sדָוִ֨דda.VidH1732menH376sworeנִשְׁבְּעוּ֩nish.be.'UH7650to him, sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559, “You shall not goתֵצֵ֨אte.Tze'H3318outH3318againע֤וֹדodH5750with us to battleלַמִּלְחָמָ֔הla.mil.cha.MahH4421,so that you do not extinguishתְכַבֶּ֖הte.kha.BehH3518the lampנֵ֥רnerH5216of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פYis.ra.'ElH3478.”

18Now it cameוַֽיְהִי֙vay.HiH1961aboutוַתְּהִי־va.te.hi-H1961afterאַֽחֲרֵי־'a.cha.rei-H310thisכֵ֔ןKhenH3651that there was warהַמִּלְחָמָ֛הha.mil.cha.MahH4421againע֧וֹדodH5750with the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםpe.lish.TimH6430at Gobבְּג֖וֹבbe.GovH1359;thenאָ֣ז'azH227Sibbecaiסִבְּכַי֙si.be.KhaiH5444the Hushathiteהַחֻ֣שָׁתִ֔יha.Chu.sha.TiH2843struckH5221andH5221killedH5221Saphסַ֕ףsafH5593,whoאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834was among the descendantsבִּילִדֵ֥יbi.li.DeiH3211of thegiantH7498.

19And there was warהַמִּלְחָמָ֛הha.mil.cha.MahH4421with the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםpe.lish.TimH6430againע֧וֹדodH5750at Gobבְּג֖וֹבbe.GovH1359,and Elhananאֶלְחָנָן֩'el.cha.NanH445the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jaare-oregimH3296the BethlehemiteH1022killedוַיַּ֡ךְvai.YakhH5221Goliathגָּלְיָ֣תgal.YatH1555the Gittiteהַגִּתִּ֔יha.gi.TiH1663,the shaftוְעֵ֣ץve.'EtzH6086of whose spearחֲנִית֔וֹcha.ni.ToH2595was like a weaver’sאֹרְגִֽים׃ ס'o.re.GimH707beamכִּמְנ֖וֹרkim.NorH4500.

20And there was warמִלְחָמָ֖הmil.cha.MahH4421at Gathבְּגַ֑תbe.GatH1661againע֥וֹדodH5750,where there was a manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of greatstatureH4060who had sixשֵׁ֣שׁsheshH8337fingersוְאֶצְבְּעֹ֣תve.'etz.be.'OtH676on each handיָדָיו֩ya.DavH3027and sixוָשֵׁ֗שׁva.SheshH8337toesוְאֶצְבְּעֹ֨תve.'etz.be.'OtH676on each footרַגְלָ֜יוrag.LavH7272,twenty-fourעֶשְׂרִ֤ים וְאַרְבַּע֙'es.Rim ve.'ar.Ba'H6242 H702in numberמִסְפָּ֔רmis.ParH4557;and he alsoוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571had been bornיֻלַּ֥דyu.LadH3205to thegiantH7498.

21When he defiedוַיְחָרֵ֖ףvay.cha.RefH2778Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,Jonathanיְה֣וֹנָתָ֔ןye.Ho.na.TanH3083the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of ShimeiH8096,David’sדָוִֽד׃da.VidH1732brotherאֲחִ֥י'a.ChiH251,struckH5221andH5221killedH5221him.

22Theseאֵ֛לֶּה'E.lehH428fourאַרְבַּ֥עַת'ar.Ba.'atH702were bornיֻלְּד֥וּyu.le.DuH3205to thegiantH7498at Gathבְּגַ֑תbe.GatH1661,and they fellוַיִּפְּל֥וּvai.yi.pe.LuH5307by the handבְיַד־ve.yad-H3027of Davidדָּוִ֖דda.VidH1732and by the handוּבְיַ֥דu.ve.YadH3027of his servantsעֲבָדָֽיו׃ פ'a.va.DavH5650.
