2 Samuel 12:21-23

21Then his servantsעֲבָדָיו֙'a.va.DavH5650saidוַיֹּאמְר֤וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to him, “Whatמָֽה־mah-H4100is thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088thingהַדָּבָ֥רha.da.VarH1697that you have doneעָשִׂ֑יתָה'a.Si.tahH6213?You fastedצַ֣מְתָּTzam.taH6684and weptוַתֵּ֔בְךְּva.Te.vekH1058for the childהַיֶּ֤לֶדhai.Ye.ledH3206while he wasaliveחַי֙chaiH2416;but whenH3512the childהַיֶּ֔לֶדhai.Ye.ledH3206diedמֵ֣תmetH4191,you gotH6965upH6965and ateוַתֹּ֥אכַלva.To.khalH398foodלָֽחֶם׃La.chemH3899.”

22And he saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “While the childהַיֶּ֣לֶדhai.Ye.ledH3206was stillבְּעוֹד֙be.'OdH5750aliveחַ֔יChaiH2416,I fastedצַ֖מְתִּיTzam.tiH6684and weptוָֽאֶבְכֶּ֑הva.'ev.KehH1058;for I saidאָמַ֙רְתִּי֙'a.Mar.tiH559, ‘Whoמִ֣יmiH4310knowsיוֹדֵ֔עַyo.De.a'H3045,the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068may beH2603graciousH2603to me, and the childהַיָּֽלֶד׃hai.Ya.ledH3206may liveH2416.’

23But nowוְעַתָּ֣ה׀ve.'a.TahH6258he has diedמֵ֗תMetH4191;whyלָ֤מָּהLa.mahH4100should I fastצָ֔םTzamH6684?Canהַאוּכַ֥לha.'u.KhalH3201I bringלַהֲשִׁיב֖וֹla.ha.shi.VoH7725him backH7725againע֑וֹדodH5750?I am goingהֹלֵ֣ךְho.LekhH1980to him, buthe will not returnיָשׁ֥וּבya.ShuvH7725to me.”
