16Then Jehuיֵהוּא֙ye.Hu'H3058rodeוַיִּרְכַּ֤בvai.yir.KavH7392inH7392aH7392chariotH7392and wentוַיֵּ֣לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980to Jezreelיִזְרְעֶ֔אלָהyiz.re.'E.lahH3157,sinceכִּ֥יkiH3588Joramיוֹרָ֖םyo.RamH3141was lyingשֹׁכֵ֣בsho.KhevH7901thereשָׁ֑מָּהSha.mahH8033recovering.And Ahaziahוַֽאֲחַזְיָה֙va.'a.chaz.YahH274the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063had comeיָרַ֖דya.RadH3381downH3381to seeלִרְא֥וֹתlir.'otH7200Joramיוֹרָֽם׃yo.RamH3141.

17Now the watchmanוְהַצֹּפֶה֩ve.ha.tzo.PehH6822was standingעֹמֵ֨ד'o.MedH5975on the towerהַמִּגְדָּ֜לha.mig.DalH4026in Jezreelבְּיִזְרְעֶ֗אלbe.yiz.re.'ElH3157and he sawוַיַּ֞רְאvai.Yar'H7200thecompanyשִׁפְעַ֤תshif.'AtH8229of Jehuיֵהוּא֙ye.Hu'H3058as he cameבְּבֹא֔וֹbe.vo.'OH935,and he saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “I seeרֹאֶ֑הro.'EhH7200acompanyשִׁפְעַ֖תshif.'AtH8229.” AndJoramיְהוֹרָ֗םye.ho.RamH3088saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Takeקַ֥חkachH3947a horsemanרַכָּ֛בra.KavH7395and sendוּֽשְׁלַ֥חu.she.LachH7971him to meetלִקְרָאתָ֖םlik.ra.TamH7122them and have himaskוְיֹאמַ֥רve.yo.MarH559, ‘Is your intentionpeaceהֲשָׁלֽוֹם׃ha.sha.LomH7965?’”

18So a horsemanרֹכֵ֨ב הַסּ֜וּסro.Khev ha.SusH7392 H5483wentוַיֵּלֶךְ֩vai.ye.leKhH1980to meetלִקְרָאת֗וֹlik.ra.ToH7122him and saidH559, “ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428saysH559: ‘Is your intentionpeaceהֲשָׁל֔וֹםha.sha.LomH7965?’”But Jehuיֵה֛וּאye.Hu'H3058saidH559, “Howמַה־mah-H4100is peaceוּלְשָׁל֖וֹםu.le.sha.LomH7965any business of yours? Turnסֹ֣בsoH5437andfollowאַחֲרָ֑י'a.cha.RaiH310me.” And the watchmanהַצֹּפֶה֙ha.tzo.PehH6822reportedוַיַּגֵּ֤דvai.ya.GedH5046, “The messengerהַמַּלְאָ֥ךְha.mal.'AkhH4397cameבָּֽא־ba'-H935to them, but he did not returnשָֽׁב׃ShavH7725.”

19Then he sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֗חvai.yish.LachH7971a secondשֵׁנִי֒she.NiH8145horsemanרֹכֵ֣ב סוּס֮ro.Khev susH7392 H5483,and he cameוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935to them and saidוַיֹּ֛אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saysאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559: ‘Is your intentionpeaceשָׁל֑וֹםsha.LomH7965?’”And Jehuיֵה֛וּאye.Hu'H3058answeredוַיֹּ֧אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Howמַה־mah-H4100is peaceוּלְשָׁל֖וֹםu.le.sha.LomH7965any business of yours? Turnסֹ֥בsoH5437andfollowאַחֲרָֽי׃'a.cha.RaiH310me.”

20And the watchmanהַצֹּפֶה֙ha.tzo.PehH6822reportedוַיַּגֵּ֤דvai.ya.GedH5046, “He cameבָּ֥אba'H935up to them, but he did not returnשָׁ֑בShavH7725; and thedrivingוְהַמִּנְהָ֗גve.ha.min.HagH4491is like the drivingכְּמִנְהַג֙ke.min.HagH4491ofJehuיֵה֣וּאye.Hu'H3058the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Nimshiנִמְשִׁ֔יnim.ShiH5250,for he drivesיִנְהָֽג׃yin.HagH5090furiouslyבְשִׁגָּע֖וֹןve.shi.ga.'onH7697.”

21ThenJoramיְהוֹרָם֙ye.ho.RamH3088saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “GetH631readyH631.” And theymadeH631his chariotרִכְבּ֑וֹrikh.BoH7393readyH631. ThenJoramיְהוֹרָ֣םye.ho.RamH3088kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִ֠שְׂרָאֵלYis.ra.'elH3478and Ahaziahוַאֲחַזְיָ֨הוּva.'a.chaz.Ya.huH274kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֜הye.hu.DahH3063wentH3318outH3318,eachאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376in his chariotבְּרִכְבּ֗וֹbe.rikh.BoH7393,and they wentH3318outH3318to meetלִקְרַ֣אתlik.RatH7122Jehuיֵה֔וּאye.Hu'H3058and foundוַיִּמְצָאֻ֔הוּvai.yim.tza.'U.huH4672him on thepropertyבְּחֶלְקַ֖תbe.chel.KatH2513of Nabothנָב֥וֹתna.VotH5022the Jezreeliteהַיִּזְרְעֵאלִֽי׃hai.yiz.re.'e.LiH3158.

22WhenJoramיְהוֹרָם֙ye.ho.RamH3088sawכִּרְא֤וֹתkir.'otH7200Jehuיֵה֔וּאye.Hu'H3058,he saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Is your intentionpeaceהֲשָׁל֣וֹםha.sha.LomH7965,Jehuיֵה֑וּאye.Hu'H3058?” And heansweredוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “Whatמָ֣הmahH4100‘peaceהַשָּׁל֔וֹםha.sha.LomH7965,’soH5704longH5704as your motherאִמְּךָ֛'i.me.KhaH517Jezebel’sאִיזֶ֧בֶל'i.Ze.velH348acts of prostitutionזְנוּנֵ֞יze.nu.NeiH2183and witchcraftוּכְשָׁפֶ֖יהָu.khe.sha.Fei.haH3785are so manyהָרַבִּֽים׃ha.ra.BimH7227?”

23SoJoramיְהוֹרָ֛םye.ho.RamH3088turnedוַיַּהֲפֹ֧ךְ יָדָ֖יוvai.ya.ha.Fokh ya.DavH2015 H3027backH2015and fledוַיָּנֹ֑סvai.ya.NosH5127,and he saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Ahaziahאֲחַזְיָ֖הוּ'a.chaz.Ya.huH274, “There istreacheryמִרְמָ֥הmir.MahH4820,Ahaziahאֲחַזְיָֽה׃'a.chaz.YahH274!”

24ThenJehuוְיֵה֞וּאve.ye.Hu'H3058drewH4390his bowבַקֶּ֗שֶׁתva.Ke.shetH7198with his fullH4390strengthיָד֣וֹya.DoH3027andshotוַיַּ֤ךְvai.YakhH5221Joramיְהוֹרָם֙ye.ho.RamH3088betweenבֵּ֣יןbeinH996his armsזְרֹעָ֔יוze.ro.'AvH2220;and the arrowהַחֵ֖צִיha.Che.tziH2678wentH3318throughH3318his heartמִלִּבּ֑וֹmi.li.BoH3820,and he sankוַיִּכְרַ֖עvai.yikh.Ra'H3766in his chariotבְּרִכְבּֽוֹ׃be.rikh.BoH7393.

25And Jehusaidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Bidkarבִּדְקַר֙bid.KarH920his officerשָֽׁלִשׁ֔וֹshe.lo.shoH7991, “PickH5375himupH5375andthrowהַשְׁלִכֵ֔הוּhash.li.Khe.huH7993him on thepropertyבְּחֶלְקַ֕תbe.chel.KatH2513of the fieldשְׂדֵ֖הse.DehH7704of Nabothנָב֣וֹתna.VotH5022the Jezreeliteהַיִּזְרְעֵאלִ֑יhai.yiz.re.'e.LiH3158;for rememberזְכֹ֞רze.KhorH2142, whenyou and I were ridingרֹכְבִ֤יםro.khe.VimH7392togetherצְמָדִים֙tze.ma.DimH6776afterאַֽחֲרֵי֙'a.cha.ReiH310his fatherאָבִ֔יו'a.VivH1Ahabאַחְאָ֣ב'ach.'AvH256, that theLordוַֽיהוָה֙va.Yah.wehH3068broughtH5375thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088pronouncementהַמַּשָּׂ֖אha.ma.Sa'H4853againstעָלָ֔יו'a.LavH5921him:

26‘I have certainlyאִם־ לֹ֡א'im- lo'H518 H3808seenרָאִ֤יתִיra.'I.tiH7200yesterdayאֶ֙מֶשׁ֙'e.meshH570the bloodדְּמֵ֣יde.MeiH1818of Nabothנָבוֹת֩na.VotH5022and the bloodדְּמֵ֨יde.MeiH1818of his sonsבָנָ֜יוva.NavH1121,’declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, ‘andI will repayוְשִׁלַּמְתִּ֥יve.shi.lam.TiH7999you on thisH2088propertyבַּחֶלְקָ֥הba.chel.KahH2513,’declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068.Nowוְעַתָּ֗הve.'a.TahH6258then, pickH5375him upH5375and throwהַשְׁלִכֵ֛הוּhash.li.Khe.huH7993him on thepropertyבַּחֶלְקָ֖הba.chel.KahH2513,in accordance with the wordכִּדְבַ֥רkid.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.”

27When Ahaziahוַאֲחַזְיָ֤הva.'a.chaz.YahH274the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063sawרָאָ֔הra.'AhH7200this,he fledוַיָּ֕נָסvai.Ya.nosH5127by wayדֶּ֖רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of the gardenהַגָּ֑ןha.GanH1588houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004.But Jehuיֵה֗וּאye.Hu'H3058pursuedוַיִּרְדֹּ֨ףvai.yir.DofH7291him and saidוַ֠יֹּאמֶרVai.yo.merH559, “Shootהַכֻּ֣הוּha.Ku.huH5221him tooגַּם־gam-H1571,in the chariotהַמֶּרְכָּבָ֗הha.mer.ka.VahH4818.” So they shot himat the ascentבְּמַֽעֲלֵה־be.ma.'a.leh-H4608of Gurגוּר֙gurH1483,whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834is atIbleamיִבְלְעָ֔םyiv.le.'AmH2991.But he fledוַיָּ֥נָסvai.Ya.nosH5127to Megiddoמְגִדּ֖וֹme.gi.DoH4023and diedוַיָּ֥מָתvai.Ya.motH4191thereשָֽׁם׃ShamH8033.

28Then his servantsעֲבָדָ֖יו'a.va.DavH5650carriedH7392him inH7392aH7392chariotH7392to Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלְָ֑מָהye.ru.sha.Le.mahH3389,and buriedוַיִּקְבְּר֨וּvai.yik.be.RuH6912him in his graveבִקְבֻרָת֛וֹvik.vu.ra.ToH6900with his fathersאֲבֹתָ֖יו'a.vo.TavH1in the cityבְּעִ֥ירbe.'IrH5892of Davidדָּוִֽד׃ פda.VidH1732.

29Now inthe eleventhאַחַ֣ת עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה'a.Chat 'es.RehH259 H6240yearH8141of Joramלְיוֹרָ֖םle.yo.RamH3141,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Ahabאַחְאָ֑ב'ach.'AvH256,Ahaziahאֲחַזְיָ֖ה'a.chaz.YahH274becameמָלַ֥ךְma.LakhH4427kingH4427overעַל־'al-H5921Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063.
