9When they had crossedH5674overH5674,Elijahוְאֵ֨לִיָּ֜הוּve.'E.li.Ya.huH452saidאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559to Elishaאֱלִישָׁע֙'e.li.Sha'H477, “Askשְׁאַל֙she.'AlH7592mewhatמָ֣הmahH4100I should doאֶֽעֱשֶׂה־'e.'e.seh-H6213for you beforeבְּטֶ֖רֶםbe.Te.remH2962I am takenאֶלָּקַ֣ח'e.la.KachH3947from you.” And Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֔ע'e.li.Sha'H477saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Pleaseנָ֛אna'H4994let adoubleשְׁנַ֥יִםshe.Na.yimH8147portionפִּֽי־pi-H6310of your spiritבְּרוּחֲךָ֖be.ru.cha.KhaH7307be upon me.”

10He saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “You have askedלִשְׁא֑וֹלlish.'olH7592a hardH7185thingH7185. Nevertheless,ifאִם־'im-H518youseeתִּרְאֶ֨הtir.'EhH7200me when I am takenלֻקָּ֤חlu.KachH3947from you, it shall be soכֵ֔ןKhenH3651for you; but ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518not, it shall not be so.”

11And as they were walkingH1980along and talkingוְדַבֵּ֔רve.da.BerH1696,beholdוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009,a chariotרֶֽכֶב־re.khev-H7393of fireאֵשׁ֙'eshH784appearedwith horsesוְס֣וּסֵיve.Su.seiH5483of fireאֵ֔שׁ'EshH784,and they separatedוַיַּפְרִ֖דוּvai.yaf.Ri.duH6504the twoשְׁנֵיהֶ֑םshe.nei.HemH8147of them. Then Elijahאֵ֣לִיָּ֔הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452wentH5927upH5927by awhirlwindבַּֽסְעָרָ֖הba.se.'a.RahH5591to heavenהַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ha.sha.Ma.yimH8064.

12And Elishaוֶאֱלִישָׁ֣עve.'e.li.Sha'H477was watchingרֹאֶ֗הro.'EhH7200itand he was cryingמְצַעֵק֙me.tza.'EkH6817outH6817, “My fatherאָבִ֣י׀'a.ViH1,my fatherאָבִ֗י'a.ViH1,the chariotרֶ֤כֶבRe.khevH7393of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478and its horsemenוּפָ֣רָשָׁ֔יוu.Fa.ra.ShavH6571!”And he did not seeרָאָ֖הוּra.'A.huH7200Elijah againע֑וֹדodH5750. Thenhe tookH2388holdוַֽיַּחֲזֵק֙vai.ya.cha.ZekH2388of his own clothesבִּבְגָדָ֔יוbiv.ga.DavH899and toreוַיִּקְרָעֵ֖םvai.yik.ra.'EmH7167them in twoלִשְׁנַ֥יִםlish.Na.yimH8147piecesקְרָעִֽים׃ke.ra.'ImH7168.
