32Then Kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Davidדָּוִ֗דda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶר׀vai.Yo.merH559, “Summonקִרְאוּ־kir.'u-H7121to meZadokלְצָד֤וֹקle.tza.DokH6659the priestהַכֹּהֵן֙ha.ko.HenH3548,Nathanוּלְנָתָ֣ןu.le.na.TanH5416the prophetהַנָּבִ֔יאha.na.Vi'H5030,and Benaiahוְלִבְנָיָ֖הוּve.liv.na.Ya.huH1141the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֑עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077.”And they cameוַיָּבֹ֖אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935into the king’sהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428presenceלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440.

33And the kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “Takeקְח֤וּke.ChuH3947with youthe servantsעַבְדֵ֣י'av.DeiH5650of your lordאֲדֹנֵיכֶ֔ם'a.do.nei.KhemH113,and have my sonבְנִ֔יve.NiH1121Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֣הshe.lo.MohH8010rideוְהִרְכַּבְתֶּם֙ve.hir.kav.TemH7392on my own muleהַפִּרְדָּ֖הha.pir.DahH6506,and bringH3381him downוְהוֹרַדְתֶּ֥םve.ho.rad.TemH3381toGihonגִּחֽוֹן׃gi.ChonH1521.

34And have Zadokצָד֨וֹקtza.DokH6659the priestהַכֹּהֵ֜ןha.ko.HenH3548and Nathanוְנָתָ֧ןve.na.TanH5416the prophetהַנָּבִ֛יאha.na.Vi'H5030anointוּמָשַׁ֣חu.ma.ShachH4886him thereשָׁ֠םShemH8033as kingלְמֶ֖לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428overעַל־'al-H5921Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478, andblowוּתְקַעְתֶּם֙u.te.ka'.TemH8628the trumpetבַּשּׁוֹפָ֔רba.sho.FarH7782and sayוַאֲמַרְתֶּ֕םva.'a.mar.TemH559, ‘Longliveיְחִ֖יye.ChiH2421Kingהַמֶּ֥לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Solomonשְׁלֹמֹֽה׃she.lo.MohH8010!’

35Then you shall comeוַעֲלִיתֶ֣םva.'a.li.TemH5927upH5927afterאַחֲרָ֗יו'a.cha.RavH310him, and he shall comeוּבָא֙u.Va'H935and sitוְיָשַׁ֣בve.ya.ShavH3427on my throneכִּסְאִ֔יkis.'IH3678,and he shall beH4427kingH4427inH8478my placeתַּחְתָּ֑יtach.TaiH8478;for I have appointedצִוִּ֙יתִי֙tzi.Vi.tiH6680him to be rulerנָגִ֔ידna.GidH5057overH5921Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478and Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063.”

36Benaiahבְּנָיָ֧הוּbe.na.Ya.huH1141the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Jehoiadaיְהֽוֹיָדָ֛עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077answeredוַיַּ֨עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶר׀vai.Yo.merH559, “Amenאָמֵ֑ן'a.MenH543!May the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֖י'e.lo.HeiH430of my lordאֲדֹנִ֥י'a.do.NiH113the kingהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428,sayיֹאמַ֣רyo.MarH559the sameכֵּ֚ןkenH3651.

37JustH3512asH3512the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068has beenH1961with my lordאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,soכֵּ֖ןkenH3651may He be with Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֑הshe.lo.MohH8010, andmakeוִֽיגַדֵּל֙vi.ga.DelH1431his throneכִּסְא֔וֹkis.'OH3678greaterH1431thanH4480the throneמִ֨כִּסֵּ֔אmi.ki.Se'H3678of my lordאֲדֹנִ֖י'a.do.NiH113Kingהַמֶּ֥לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Davidדָּוִֽד׃da.VidH1732!”

39And Zadokצָד֨וֹקtza.DokH6659the priestהַכֹּהֵ֜ןha.ko.HenH3548thentookוַיִּקַּח֩vai.yi.KachH3947the hornקֶ֤רֶןKe.renH7161of oilהַשֶּׁ֙מֶן֙ha.She.menH8081from the tentהָאֹ֔הֶלha.'O.helH168andanointedוַיִּמְשַׁ֖חvai.yim.ShachH4886Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֑הshe.lo.MohH8010. Then theyblewוַֽיִּתְקְעוּ֙vai.yit.ke.'UH8628the trumpetבַּשּׁוֹפָ֔רba.sho.FarH7782,and allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559, “Longliveיְחִ֖יye.ChiH2421Kingהַמֶּ֥לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Solomonשְׁלֹמֹֽה׃she.lo.MohH8010!”

40And allכָל־khol-H3605the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971wentH5927upH5927afterאַֽחֲרָ֔יו'a.cha.RavH310him, and the peopleוְהָעָם֙ve.ha.'AmH5971were playingמְחַלְּלִ֣יםme.cha.le.LimH2490on flutesבַּחֲלִלִ֔יםba.cha.li.LimH2485and rejoicingוּשְׂמֵחִ֖יםu.se.me.ChimH8056with greatגְדוֹלָ֑הge.do.LahH1419joyשִׂמְחָ֣הsim.ChahH8057,so that the earthהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776shookוַתִּבָּקַ֥עva.ti.ba.Ka'H1234at their noiseבְּקוֹלָֽם׃be.ko.LamH6963.

41Now Adonijahאֲדֹנִיָּ֗הוּ'a.do.ni.Ya.huH138and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the guestsהַקְּרֻאִים֙ha.ke.ru.'ImH7121whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834werewith him heardוַיִּשְׁמַ֣עvai.yish.Ma'H8085thisas they finishedכִּלּ֣וּki.LuH3615eatingלֶאֱכֹ֑לle.'e.KholH398.When Joabיוֹאָב֙yo.'AvH3097heardוַיִּשְׁמַ֤עvai.yish.Ma'H8085the soundH6963of the trumpetהַשּׁוֹפָ֔רha.sho.FarH7782,he saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Whyמַדּ֥וּעַma.Du.a'H4069is thecityהַקִּרְיָ֖הha.kir.YahH7151makingH1993such anH1993uproarהוֹמָֽה׃ho.MahH1993?”

42While he was stillעוֹדֶ֣נּוּo.De.nuH5750speakingמְדַבֵּ֔רme.da.BerH1696,beholdוְהִנֵּ֧הve.hi.NehH2009,JonathanH3083the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Abiatharאֶבְיָתָ֥ר'ev.ya.TarH54the priestהַכֹּהֵ֖ןha.ko.HenH3548cameH935.Then Adonijahאֲדֹנִיָּ֙הוּ֙'a.do.ni.Ya.huH138saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “ComeH935inH935, foryou are a valiantחַ֛יִלCha.yilH2428manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376and you bringH1319goodוְט֥וֹבve.TovH2896newsתְּבַשֵּֽׂר׃te.va.SerH1319.”

43But JonathanH3083repliedוַיַּ֙עַן֙vai.Ya.'anH6030to Adonijahלַאֲדֹנִיָּ֑הוּla.'a.do.ni.Ya.huH138, “On the contraryאֲבָ֕ל'a.ValH61!Our lordאֲדֹנֵ֥ינוּ'a.do.Nei.nuH113Kingהַמֶּֽלֶךְ־ha.Me.lekh-H4428Davidדָּוִ֖דda.VidH1732has madeהִמְלִ֥יךְhim.LikhH4427Solomonשְׁלֹמֹֽה׃she.lo.MohH8010kingH4428!
