Numbers 32:16-32
16Then they cameH5066 nearH5066 to him and saidH559, “We will buildH1129 hereH6311 sheepfoldsH6629H1448 for our livestockH4735 and citiesH5892 for our littleH2945 onesH2945; 171but we ourselvesH587 will be armedH2502 readyH2363 to go beforeH6440 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478, untilH5704H834H518 we have broughtH935 them to their placeH4725, while our littleH2945 onesH2945 liveH3427 in the fortifiedH4013 citiesH5892 becauseH4480H6440 of the inhabitantsH3427 of the landH776. 182We will not returnH7725 to our homesH1004 untilH5704 everyH376 oneH376 of the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 has possessedH5157 his inheritanceH5159. 19For we will not haveH5157 an inheritanceH5157 with them on the otherH5676 sideH5676 of the JordanH3383 and beyondH1973, becauseH3588 our inheritanceH5159 has fallenH935 to us 3on this sideH5676 of the JordanH3383 toward the eastH4217.”
204So MosesH4872 saidH559 to them, “IfH518 you will doH6213 5thisH2088, ifH518 you will armH2502 yourselves beforeH6440 the LordH3068 for the warH4421, 21and allH3605 of you armedH2502 men crossH5674 overH5674 the JordanH3383 beforeH6440 the LordH3068 untilH5704 He has drivenH3423 His enemiesH340 out from beforeH6440 Him, 226and the landH776 is subduedH3533 beforeH6440 the LordH3068, then afterwardH310 you shall returnH7725 and be freeH5355 of obligationH5355 towardH4480 the LordH3068 and towardH4480 IsraelH3478, and thisH2088 landH776 shall be yours for a possessionH272 beforeH6440 the LordH3068. 23But ifH518 you will not doH6213 soH3651, beholdH2009, you have sinnedH2398 against the LordH3068, and be sureH3045 7your sinH2403 will findH4672 you out. 24BuildH1129 yourselves citiesH5892 for your littleH2945 onesH2945, and sheepfoldsH1448 for your sheepH6792, and 8doH6213 9what you have promisedH3318H4480H6310.”
25The sonsH1121 of GadH1410 and the sonsH1121 of ReubenH7205 spokeH559 to MosesH4872, sayingH559, “Your servantsH5650 will doH6213 justH3512 as my lordH113 commandsH6680. 2610Our littleH2945 onesH2945, our wivesH802, our livestockH4735 and allH3605 our cattleH929 shall 11remainH1961 thereH8033 in the citiesH5892 of GileadH1568; 27while your servantsH5650, everyoneH3605 who is armedH2502 for warH6635, will 12crossH5674 overH5674 in the presenceH6440 of the LordH3068 to battleH4421, justH3512 as my lordH113 saysH1696.”
28So MosesH4872 gaveH6680 commandH6680 concerning them to EleazarH499 the priestH3548, and to JoshuaH3091 the sonH1121 of NunH5126, and to the headsH7218 of the fathers’H1 households of the tribesH4294 of the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478. 29MosesH4872 saidH559 to them, “IfH518 the sonsH1121 of GadH1410 and the sonsH1121 of ReubenH7205, everyoneH3605 who is armedH2502 for battleH4421, will crossH5674 with you overH5674 the JordanH3383 in the presenceH6440 of the LordH3068, and the landH776 is subduedH3533 beforeH6440 you, then you shall giveH5414 them the landH776 of GileadH1568 for a possessionH272; 30but ifH518 they will not crossH5674 overH5674 with you armedH2502, they shall haveH270 possessionsH270 amongH8432 you in the landH776 of CanaanH3667.” 31The sonsH1121 of GadH1410 and the sonsH1121 of ReubenH7205 answeredH6030, sayingH559, “As the LordH3068 has saidH1696 to your servantsH5650, soH3651 we will doH6213. 32We ourselvesH5168 will crossH5674 overH5674 armedH2502 in the presenceH6440 of the LordH3068 into the landH776 of CanaanH3667, and the possessionH272 of our inheritanceH5159 shall remain with us acrossH4480H5676 the JordanH3383.”
