Leviticus 25:35-43
35‘1Now in caseH3588 a 2countrymanH251 of yours becomesH4134 poorH4134 and his 3meansH3027 with regardH5973 to you falterH4131, then you are to sustainH2388 him, like a strangerH1616 or a sojournerH8453, that he may liveH2421 with you. 364Do not takeH3947 5usuriousH8636 interestH5392 from him, but revereH3372 your GodH430, that your 6countrymanH251 may liveH2421 with you. 37You shall not giveH5414 him your silverH3701 at interestH5392, norH3808 your foodH400 for gainH4768. 387I am the LordH3068 your GodH430, whoH834 broughtH3318 you out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714 to giveH5414 you the landH776 of CanaanH3667 and 8to be your GodH430.
39‘9IfH3588 a 10countrymanH251 of yours becomesH4134 so poorH4134 with regardH5973 to you that he sellsH4376 himself to you, you shall not subjectH5647 him to a slave’sH5650 serviceH5656. 40He shall be with you as a hiredH7916 manH7916, as 11if he were a sojournerH8453; he shall serveH5647 with you untilH5704 the yearH8141 of jubileeH3104. 41He shall then goH3318 out from you, he and his sonsH1121 with him, and shall goH7725 backH7725 to his familyH4940, that he may returnH7725 to the propertyH272 of his forefathersH1. 42For they are My servantsH5650 whomH834 I broughtH3318 out from the landH776 of EgyptH4714; they are not to be soldH4376 in a slaveH5650 saleH4466. 4312You shall not ruleH7287 over him with severityH6531, but are to revereH3372 your GodH430.
