Jeremiah 48:1-13
1Concerning 1MoabH4124. ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, “WoeH1945 to 2NeboH5015, for it has been destroyedH7703; 3KiriathaimH7156 has beenH954 putH954 to shameH954, it has been capturedH3920; The loftyH4869 strongholdH4869 has beenH954 putH954 to shameH954 and 4shatteredH2865.2ThereH369 is praiseH8416 for MoabH4124 noH369 longerH5750; In 5HeshbonH2809 they have devisedH2803 calamityH7463 againstH5921 her: ‘ComeH1980 and let us cutH3772 her offH3772 from being a nationH1471!’ You tooH1571, 6MadmenH4086, will be silencedH1826; The swordH2719 will followH310H1980 afterH310 you.3The soundH6963 of an outcryH6818 from 7HoronaimH2773, ‘DevastationH7701 and greatH1419 destructionH7667!’4MoabH4124 is brokenH7665, Her littleH6810 onesH6810 have soundedH8085 out a cryH2201 of distress.5For by the ascentH4608 of 8LuhithH3872 They will ascendH5927 with continualH1065 weepingH1065; For at the descentH4174 of HoronaimH2773 They have heardH8085 the 9anguishedH6862 cryH6818 of destructionH7667.610FleeH5127, saveH4422 your livesH5315, That you may be like a juniperH6176 in the wildernessH4057.7For becauseH3282 of your 11trustH982 in your own achievementsH4639 and treasuresH214, EvenH1571 you yourselfH855 will be capturedH3920; And 12ChemoshH3645 will goH3318 offH3318 into exileH1473 TogetherH3164 with his priestsH3548 and his princesH8269.8A destroyerH7703 will comeH935 to everyH3605 cityH5892, So that noH3808 cityH5892 will escapeH4422; The valleyH6010 also will be ruinedH6 And the 13plateauH4334 will be destroyedH8045, As the LordH3068 has saidH559.9GiveH5414 1415wingsH6731 to MoabH4124, For she will 16fleeH3318 awayH3318; And her citiesH5892 will becomeH1961 a 17desolationH8047, WithoutH369 inhabitantsH3427 in them.1018CursedH779 be the one who doesH6213 the Lord’sH3068 workH4399 19negligentlyH7423, And cursedH779 be the one who restrainsH4513 his 20swordH2719 from bloodH1818.
11“MoabH4124 has beenH7599 21at easeH7599 sinceH4480 his youthH5271; He has also beenH8252 22undisturbedH8252, like wine on 23its dregsH8105, And he has not been 24emptiedH7385 from vesselH3627 to vesselH3627, NorH3808 has he goneH1980 into exileH1473. ThereforeH5921H3651 25he retainsH5975 his flavorH2940, And his aromaH7381 has not changedH4171. 12ThereforeH3651 beholdH2009, the daysH3117 are comingH935,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068, “when I will sendH7971 to him those who tipH6808 vessels, and they will tipH6808 him overH6808, and they will emptyH7385 his vesselsH3627 and shatterH5310 26his jarsH5035. 13And MoabH4124 will be 27ashamedH954 of 28ChemoshH3645, as the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 was ashamedH954 of 29BethelH1008, their confidenceH4009.
